"so far sangat puas hati duduk sini, wish i could stay here longer. bilik besar betul, lagi2 bila duduk sorang. bersih & kemas, cuma diorang provide 2 towel, 2-in-1 bodywash shampoo & 2 toilet paper roll. kawasan pun near pekan nak kemana semua dekat sangat tapi kawasan tak bising. also kena provide depo cash time check in & dapat balik bila check out. tilam semua ditukar baru by housekeeper. a worth place to stay if you’re travelling to ipoh ＜3"

"Excellent! A perfect 10/10 rating. Although the hotel is a converted shophouse, the service, ambiance, and cleanliness were surprisingly superb! The location is also very convenient, right in the city center, making it easy to grab bean sprout chicken or buy local specialties. It's about a 10-minute walk to 'Tong Sui Gai' (dessert street), and the coffee and food at the corner kopitiam behind the hotel are fantastic. The proprietress is very welcoming; she always greets guests from out of town warmly. Another thoughtful touch is that this type of hotel usually doesn't provide disposable slippers, but they do here – truly commendable! 🌟 I want to give special thanks and praise to the Chinese uncle and lady at the front desk; both were incredibly helpful and provided excellent service. The lady at the front desk was especially accommodating when I needed a late checkout; even though the hotel was fully booked, she managed to extend it for half an hour. She also gave very practical advice when I had a question about using my computer. While I was using my computer in the lobby, I overheard her patiently and enthusiastically assisting a guest from Indonesia, even carefully explaining parking regulations to the guest who wasn't familiar with local rules. This kind of service attitude is truly rare nowadays, and I hope she continues to maintain her passion! 😊 I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Ipoh, but I won't recommend it to my family and friends, otherwise, it will become even harder to book! 😝 Still, I wish them prosperous business! 😍"

"Stayed there after a long and exhausting event. I chose it primarily as a place to shower, rest, sleep and write some reports, and it served that purpose well. Booking was a breeze, and the hotel is very easy to locate. They use a self-check-in kiosk which is quite straightforward, but the staff didn't hesitate to step in and assist when needed. I stayed in a no window room. Because there’s no window, there was a slightly damp smell when I first walked in. Luckily, I brought my own room spray, so it wasn't an issue for me, but it's something to keep in mind. The air conditioning isn't incredibly strong. If you prefer a freezing room, you might struggle, but as someone who isn't a huge fan of intense AC, it was perfectly acceptable to me. Also, the floors are mosaic tiles (no carpet), so I highly recommend bringing your own indoor slippers. On the bright side, the water pressure and hot water in the shower were excellent. There were also more than enough electrical sockets for two people to charge their devices. I didn't use the Wi-Fi, so I can't comment on that. There are water dispenser and iron with board at the corridor on my floor (3rd floor) While the hotel is surrounded by plenty of local restaurants, I opted to order GrabFood because I was too tired. It was super easy, I just asked the rider to leave the food at the lobby. Service: The staff on both the day and night shifts were incredibly helpful and friendly. They genuinely made the place feel welcoming, almost like home. Important Tip on Deposit: Make sure to bring RM50 cash for the security deposit. You can use a card, but the reception mentioned it takes a few days for the bank to release the refund, so cash is much more convenient. Overall, it’s a simple, no-frills hotel. If you just need a budget-friendly place to crash after a tiring day, it does the job. Thank you to the kind staff for looking after me!"

"The service was excellent, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. It was also incredibly convenient for getting around Ipoh, like visiting the Batu Caves. The room was spacious and clean. This is hands down the most satisfying and affordable hotel my wife and I have ever stayed in."

"It's not that it's unhygienic, but rather very old and run-down. The bedding is caved in, and the mattress, pillows, and duvet are dingy. For this price and these facilities, just for a few hours' stay, it's barely acceptable. The location, however, is good; it's in the city center."

Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the overall service was efficient and professional. I would especially like to commend the Indian girl at the Front Office for her honesty and integrity. I accidentally left my RM100 deposit at the reception counter, and she immediately informed me and made sure I got it back. Her honesty and excellent service truly impressed me and made my stay even more memorable. The hotel’s location is also convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and dining options. "Had an absolutely flawless stay! The self-check-in process was incredibly smooth and fast—I received all the instructions well in advance, which made arrival a breeze. The room was immaculate, comfortable, and exactly as described. I loved the convenience of not having to wait at a front desk. Highly recommended! Exceptional customer service! When I had a minor issue with my room, the reception and maintenance teams were incredibly fast, polite, and resolved it immediately. It’s rare to find such responsive and caring staff nowadays. "Overall, it's an average hotel. The room next door was really noisy all morning, which was quite disruptive, and there was a constant dripping sound from a pipe in the bathroom. The air conditioning also took a long time to cool down the room. Aside from those issues, it's a decent hotel. The location is pretty good for exploring, with several attractions nearby like Concubine Lane and Second Concubine Lane, perfect for taking photos and finding a spot for coffee to get a feel for the city."

"Room 211. The parking in front of the hotel for cars and motorcycles is well-lit. I hope the basement parking's lighting can be upgraded to LEDs; it's currently quite dark and doesn't feel safe for solo women, especially when returning late at night, as there are many Bangladeshi workers around. The front desk feels more like an old-style guesthouse counter, with no proper lobby. Staff are okay. There's a RM50 deposit per room, but no record is kept; it's essentially a 'barter' system where you exchange the deposit for the TV and air-conditioner remotes. The lift works well for accessing the second and third floors. The hotel has been newly renovated and repainted, both exterior and interior. The walls and rooms are clean and freshly painted, the floors are clean, and there's hot and cold Coway filtered water available. An ironing board is provided outside the room. Inside the room, the pillows, mattress, sheets, sofa, and wardrobe are all new. The room itself is freshly painted, clean, and feels fresh. The floor is clean. The bathroom is also new and clean, with only slight signs of age on the wall tiles. There's a view of houses and a small hill. The hotel is located within 1-3 km of Ipoh city center. Being in a residential area, there are no eateries or convenience stores nearby. So, you'll need to order Foodpanda for food and Grab for transport, though it's only a 5-minute ride to town. The Panasonic air-conditioner, despite being new, cools very slowly; it took almost 3 hours to cool even half the room. I hope this can be fixed. I'm not sure if all rooms experience the same issue. The room is comfortable to stay in, though it's not soundproof. However, it's comfortable for sleeping. The hot water for showering is good. Excellent pest control. The door lock uses a sturdy access card. The TV channels are terrible and fuzzy; I hope they can install MyTV. Overall, the room is completely new, but I hope they fix the slow air-conditioning, improve the TV channels with MyTV, and upgrade the parking lights to LEDs. The front desk staff at Hotel Pinji should be more cheerful. I'm not sure if the Wi-Fi works well, but there is a password provided. If these issues are addressed, Hotel Pinji would undoubtedly be Ipoh's best budget hotel for various groups: bus tours, students, wedding guests, families visiting university/college/school students (especially when dorms are full), out-of-town workers, businessmen, local and international tourists, and bikers. Gym access costs RM6 for hotel guests. The room price is reasonable."

"I stayed here for two nights. The hostel is located in Ipoh city center, about a ten-minute walk from the core attractions of Old Town (like Concubine Lane and the Clock Tower) and the food streets. The hostel building is a century-old house with English-style wrought iron gates and windows, colorful floor tiles, and wooden stairs that exude a rich sense of history. The rooms have wooden floors, and the beds and duvets are very clean. The facilities meet basic travel needs, including a washer-dryer combo and drying racks, as well as separate male and female shower areas. I particularly appreciated the warm and thoughtful service from the staff, especially the male owner who thoroughly explained the history of Ipoh's development, nearby tourist attractions, and local cuisine. In the morning, there are four free breakfast options to choose from. This hostel is highly recommended, and I would definitely choose to stay here again if I return to Ipoh."
