"Excellent! A perfect 10/10 rating. Although the hotel is a converted shophouse, the service, ambiance, and cleanliness were surprisingly superb! The location is also very convenient, right in the city center, making it easy to grab bean sprout chicken or buy local specialties. It's about a 10-minute walk to 'Tong Sui Gai' (dessert street), and the coffee and food at the corner kopitiam behind the hotel are fantastic. The proprietress is very welcoming; she always greets guests from out of town warmly. Another thoughtful touch is that this type of hotel usually doesn't provide disposable slippers, but they do here – truly commendable! 🌟 I want to give special thanks and praise to the Chinese uncle and lady at the front desk; both were incredibly helpful and provided excellent service. The lady at the front desk was especially accommodating when I needed a late checkout; even though the hotel was fully booked, she managed to extend it for half an hour. She also gave very practical advice when I had a question about using my computer. While I was using my computer in the lobby, I overheard her patiently and enthusiastically assisting a guest from Indonesia, even carefully explaining parking regulations to the guest who wasn't familiar with local rules. This kind of service attitude is truly rare nowadays, and I hope she continues to maintain her passion! 😊 I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Ipoh, but I won't recommend it to my family and friends, otherwise, it will become even harder to book! 😝 Still, I wish them prosperous business! 😍"

"Overall is good , only satellite tv not working Will consider this apartment nx time"

"I had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making my stay enjoyable from start to finish. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the overall service was efficient and professional. I would especially like to commend the Indian girl at the Front Office for her honesty and integrity. I accidentally left my RM100 deposit at the reception counter, and she immediately informed me and made sure I got it back. Her honesty and excellent service truly impressed me and made my stay even more memorable. The hotel’s location is also convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and dining options. Overall, I had an impressive stay and would definitely recommend The Host Hotel Ipoh to anyone visiting the city. Thank you to the entire team for your warm hospitality!"

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and quality service. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities provided. The bed was especially comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep after a long day. Overall, my experience exceeded expectations. The combination of great service, comfortable accommodations, and convenient location made my stay truly enjoyable. I would definitely return in the future."

"Had an absolutely flawless stay! The self-check-in process was incredibly smooth and fast—I received all the instructions well in advance, which made arrival a breeze. The room was immaculate, comfortable, and exactly as described. I loved the convenience of not having to wait at a front desk. Highly recommended! Exceptional customer service! When I had a minor issue with my room, the reception and maintenance teams were incredibly fast, polite, and resolved it immediately. It’s rare to find such responsive and caring staff nowadays. Thank you for making my trip so pleasant!"

"overall, the room is spacious and clean. no cigarette smell or mattress odour. only the room is not lit properly and we brought our own camping lites. the signage to the hotel is not enough and we were guided wrongly by the nearby security guard. parking wise is ample but no shades. food wise no issue as there are many food eateries nearby. a hospital was just some walking distance away. if we visit Perak, will definitely choose this hotel if there are no more other hotels vacant. the furnitures are old and need to be fixed. drainage piping also need to be properly done."

"I found this place through Xiaohongshu and decided to give it a try. Personally, I feel it might be a little overrated. We chose the room type on the lower floor, and the room felt quite small. For a similar price, there may be other options that offer more space. I also noticed quite a bit of dust in different areas of the room. As someone with a sensitive nose, it wasn’t very friendly for me as I kept sneezing during the stay. The bathroom was fine when it was dry and there wasn’t much smell. However, after taking a shower, there was quite a strong odor that became noticeable and a little uncomfortable. The small courtyard area is nice for photos, but there were ants and quite a lot of spider webs, which made it feel like it hadn’t been cleaned for some time. On the positive side, the dessert and breakfast were very nice. The breakfast portion was generous and the welcome dessert was also lovely. Overall, I hope more attention can be given to cleanliness and maintenance, as it would definitely improve the experience."

"The room was neat and clean. The iron and water dispenser were right in front of the room, so it was convenient. The only downside was that the water pressure in the bathroom was sometimes low."

"Stayed there after a long and exhausting event. I chose it primarily as a place to shower, rest, sleep and write some reports, and it served that purpose well. Booking was a breeze, and the hotel is very easy to locate. They use a self-check-in kiosk which is quite straightforward, but the staff didn't hesitate to step in and assist when needed. I stayed in a no window room. Because there’s no window, there was a slightly damp smell when I first walked in. Luckily, I brought my own room spray, so it wasn't an issue for me, but it's something to keep in mind. The air conditioning isn't incredibly strong. If you prefer a freezing room, you might struggle, but as someone who isn't a huge fan of intense AC, it was perfectly acceptable to me. Also, the floors are mosaic tiles (no carpet), so I highly recommend bringing your own indoor slippers. On the bright side, the water pressure and hot water in the shower were excellent. There were also more than enough electrical sockets for two people to charge their devices. I didn't use the Wi-Fi, so I can't comment on that. There are water dispenser and iron with board at the corridor on my floor (3rd floor) While the hotel is surrounded by plenty of local restaurants, I opted to order GrabFood because I was too tired. It was super easy, I just asked the rider to leave the food at the lobby. Service: The staff on both the day and night shifts were incredibly helpful and friendly. They genuinely made the place feel welcoming, almost like home. Important Tip on Deposit: Make sure to bring RM50 cash for the security deposit. You can use a card, but the reception mentioned it takes a few days for the bank to release the refund, so cash is much more convenient. Overall, it’s a simple, no-frills hotel. If you just need a budget-friendly place to crash after a tiring day, it does the job. Thank you to the kind staff for looking after me!"

"The front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic. The hotel room was clean and spacious, and there are many delicious food options nearby. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, and free parking is available."
