"Cosy historical building done up very nicely. Room was well renovated, owner super friendly and very accommodating, we asked for more water, toilet paper, different type of breakfast etc all happy to oblige. 10 minutes walk to light show, 10m walk to center of ancient city where most of the historical sites were. 10m walk to outside where the best food is..DO NOT eat inside the old city, food outside much better. Owner also arranged for car to take us to Wang Family compound and Shuanglian temple at much better price than I could find anywhere online. and private transfer to/from train station as well. Very happy I booked to stay at this location. Breakfast was EXCELLENT"

"The location is absolutely fantastic, very close to the city center. When we checked in, they upgraded our room for free, and the owner even helped us with our luggage. When we left, they gave us some handmade vinegar from their shop, and also free outfits and discount vouchers for popular restaurants. It was absolutely wonderful! Since I have relatives in Pingyao, I'll definitely bring them to stay here next time."

"Pros: Xiao li can pick us up upon arrival at high speed rail station and send us there on departure day. Breakfast is nice as well. On the day we had to depart earlier at 6.10am, he prep simple food items like milk, bread etc Xiaoli also went through the places we can visit and food places to eat t He can also book attractions like 再见平遥 with discount eg outside selling at 238 rmb, he can help us get for 202 rmb. Overall, hospitality is top-notch. Surprise : Xiaoli gave us vinegar foc. 😘"

"Excel·lent place to stay, near the main street and with lots of places to eat nearby. The room was immense, clean and very comfortable and the bathroom was so modern and clean. We had an electric toilet where you could flush the toilet automatically and even warm the seat at a certain temperature. It was an experience! They gave us fresh fruit also and provided us with water and clean towels everyday. The hotel looks a little bit old and maybe it needs generally a bit more maintainacee and ckeanenkess but overall the bedroom was fantastic which is the most importants. The staff also speaks very good English and they helped us when we calked them as we didn't find first the hotel. Turns out that Harmony Hotel and Jade Garden Hotel is the same just in case maps doesn't bring you to the right place. Also the experience of sleeping in a traditional house with the gardens and patios outside it's Soo cool."

"I am very happy with value for money i have got. Room had all the things i need and facilities are modern. Electric toilet , tv , hair shampoo and conditioner, dryer and teapot all there. Though we had language barrier owner was quick to use App for translation so no issues at all. I felt she is very carring an dattentive. I had a bit of struggle to find place as i arrived in the dark and it is in a narrow street which is not properly lit . Name on a sign outside says Moonlight hotel in English. Arriving in daylight would be much better,otherwise location is very close to the gate so allow good access to the walk on a wall. I would recomend and stay there again."

"The hotel is located just outside the North Gate of the old city, making transportation very convenient. Parking right outside the entrance is also a plus. The self-service breakfast was generally good, and the staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. The room amenities were complete, the bedside outlets were very convenient, and the mattress was super comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. It's a shame that the famous light show has been suspended for a long while now, especially with fewer crowds in the old city as Chinese New Year approaches."

GGuest UserThis guesthouse was a wonderful surprise! It's located right inside Pingyao Ancient City, close to the East Gate, and also near the City God Temple and Confucius Temple. Since cars are banned inside the ancient city, it's very convenient to catch a taxi just outside. The guesthouse itself is tucked away in a narrow alley, giving it a real 'deep courtyard' feel. Once you step inside, it's a whole different world – a truly exquisite and elegant courtyard. Looking up from the open-air patio, you see the bright moon at night and blue skies with white clouds during the day. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. They provided transportation tips in advance, gave us a free paper map of the ancient city, and even recommended key sights, routes, and local specialty dishes and restaurants.
