"Location was walkable, but just far enough to be an ordeal in the snow. It's close to the Aisly mall for a quick good run and lots of restaurant options along the way. When I tried to check in at the front desk, the older front staff didn't believe that I was at the right hotel and kept doubting me. While he was polite about it, it was irritating after a 3 hr train ride and rough hike through the snowy slush. It appears someone had marked me as already checked in and I had to prove my identity & booking number. While the staff apologized for the mistake, it didn't feel great Points for a great view from my room though"

"General impression: This is a super decent house with an excellent view of the kinosaki village. You could feel the management put lots of efforts to maintain the best comfort of every guest and the whole team operated under warm & effective process. While we are having breakfast or dinner in the dining area, their staff make a very efficient turn to change our yukata, towels, bottles of water, making up mattress on our room.That impressed us so much! Onsen quality: The onsen inside the house is well managed and run until mid night. We can go outside with the free pass of public onsens, but we also enjoy ourselves in the in-house onsen because of more accessories provided there. You can feel the onsen owner care about guests more than the public onsens outside. Dining experience: We enjoyed the half board experience for 2 nights, especially the 2nd night with the tajima beef sukiyaki. The flavors & taste feed us well. Though breakfast is a bit simple, but we could make up some room in our stomach to enjoy snacks or ice-cream in the village. My friend & I would definitely give 5 star rating to Yamamotoya, and will recommend our friends to visit you again."

"Hotel with a beautiful view, right by the Kannabe ski slopes. We visited during a period of abundant snow, and the weather was refreshingly cool. The hotel offers complimentary tea, coffee, ice, and instant miso soup."

"Nice, modern and new hotel in Kinosaki onsen with great hospitality from the hotel owner and his staff. I was welcomed by the owner at the door when I arrived, and they even prepared a beautiful greeting card on my arrival. Welcome drink was provided and the owner recommended good restaurants and provided the USP of each onsen in Kinosaki. The room is spacious, clean and new! I especially like the Japanese style of the hotel. Yutaka and 1-day onsen pass were provided for my stay. As the next day I had to move to another hotel, the owner very kindly helped me to transport my luggage to another hotel near the JR station. Overall, excellent stay, excellent people and excellent breakfast! :) Would love to visit Kinosaki onsen again and stay with Utsuroi Tsuchiya."

"This was the best place we stayed at by far! The staff were incredibly welcoming, making it a truly unique experience for tourists. They even picked us up from the train station in a shuttle bus and took us directly to the hotel. They provided us with yukata robes and explained everything thoroughly (the staff spoke excellent English). Although you can wear your own clothes, the overall atmosphere really encourages you to change into the yukata and immerse yourself in the Japanese spirit. The room itself was beautiful, decorated in a traditional Japanese style, as were the hallways, which featured small wooden statues and calligraphic scrolls. Soft music played subtly in the corridors, and a pleasant, non-intrusive incense aroma filled the air. It was absolutely delightful! And finally, the food: we opted for both dinner and breakfast, and the spread was incredible! Everything was delicious and beautifully presented, with generous portions – anyone would be satisfied. They even served delicacies like snow crab and premium meats. We definitely hope to come back here again!"

"对不是日本人完全不友善的酒店 Not foreigner ( Western & Asian) friendly. We travelled around 70 Roykan in the last 3 years and this is the wrost service we ever had. Japanese get to seat and offered juices when they checked in while we have to stand at the front desk and no juice offered. We asked for the yukata rental (free rental) and the young staff just ignore us twice. We asked for sizes a few times then he just said it’s all here. Then when we picking the only two small sizes he grabbed and give it to the Japanese girl and ignore us or never ask us before he took it as he knows we are looking into those. Very rude. Most of ryokan will bring you to the room or assist to bring luggage or already put in the room for you. This one you do everything yourself after check in. When we get into the hotel room it’s hot as no aircon is on. Then air con is broken so we called reception. With their broken English they insisted I don’t know how to turn on the aircon which I told them the air con is broken, after 15mins on the phone showing me how to on I keep telling them to send the staff up as we are so hot in the room as it’s summer and no window open and no fan was on after moving luggage. They came up and fix the air con for 45mins then told us it’s broken and need to change room. The whole hour we were sweating but no offer of water / drinks or anything and we just stand in the room while they fixing. When they decided the room need to be changed, they asked us to wait downstairs but leave the luggage in the room so we thought they will move luggage to the new room but they did not. Staff see us so hot at lobby didn’t tell us there is free drinking machine that we can get ice juices , they just watch us hot and sweat and not saying a word. When the new room is finished, they gave us the new room key and asked us to move the luggage ourself and return the old key. No help at all and wasted 1.5 hours of our onsen time. No apologies as well. I feel like being treated like a trash. Not enjoyable at all. I paid extra for the sea view room which when they change my room they offered a slightly bigger room but my sea view was mostly blocked (in the pic )which I am not so happy. There is amenities corner at the lobby, at night after the onsen we come back and want to take the lotion as early on it was gone and they didn’t replenish, the female staff have a bad attitude and flip her eyes ask us which room we stayed, we showed her the key and she said the cream is already in the room which her broken English. There is one set in the room but those are small one time pack which we finish after we had the onsen so we want to take another one. She was rude and insist we can’t take. Her attitude was so bad seems like we are stealing. There is an amenities cornor, if you not allowing guest to take please do not have this setup. Food is okay with the buffet. Wagyu beef is nice but they is a normal standard for Japanese onsen buffet nothing too special. Overall, with the price paying compare to other roykan in Japan, this hotel have very bad service to non Japanese. There is also nothing special for this onsen. Probably best to try somewhere else."

"This hotel boasts a prime location on the Takeno coast, offering stunning ocean views. If you have time, you can walk across the river to the coast near Takeno Kyoka Village, where the scenery is equally beautiful yet remarkably uncrowded, allowing you to quietly enjoy the views. It's conveniently located just one JR stop (10 minutes) from Kinosaki Onsen, yet few Chinese tourists venture here. You'll occasionally spot some European and American tourists on the streets, along the beach, or at the hotel. The hotel service is excellent, with a shuttle bus to and from Takeno Station. The hotel also has its own onsen bath, where you can relax and listen to the waves. The hotel's breakfast and dinner are outstanding, especially the all-crab dinner – the incredibly fresh and delicious Kazumi crab is irresistible and incredibly satisfying. I highly recommend staying at the Oku Kinosaki Seaside Hotel when visiting Takeno."

"This riverside hotel offers ample parking. The rooms are very spacious, and the lobby provides complimentary coffee and alcoholic beverages. There are both indoor and outdoor hot springs, with a full range of bathing amenities. The buffet breakfast and dinner offer a wide variety of options, and the dinner, especially the seafood, was of a slightly higher quality, though the breakfast felt a bit perfunctory. Guests can enjoy free access to the Kinosaki public bathhouse, and the hotel provides complimentary baskets, yukata robes, wooden clogs, and umbrellas. The service was warm and attentive; I was very satisfied."

"A very comfortable stay! It's just a 3-minute walk from the station, and from the moment we stepped in, the staff took wonderful care of us. Dinner in the room was delicious, and the private onsen, which doesn't require a reservation, was absolutely perfect – much more comfortable than the public baths. We made sure to use it as many times as we could. If any friends come to Kinosaki Onsen, I'll definitely recommend they stay here!"

"This is my second time staying at this hot spring hotel. I feel just as comfortable and relaxed. The food portions are big and tasty. The environment is my favorite. I will choose this hotel again when I go to Kinosaki."
