"Thanks to Nanshe, our trip to Datong was incredibly enjoyable and pleasant, offering a sense of security just like home. The guesthouse is located inside the ancient Datong city wall, which is an excellent location, making it very convenient to visit famous attractions and long-standing restaurants, all within walking distance. The room was clean, tidy, and well-arranged—small yet cozy. We even had foreign guests in the room opposite ours 😉. The two housekeeper sisters provided attentive and responsive service, always ready to offer advice. On our first day, they recommended the nearby Dongfang Xiaomian restaurant, a local favorite for sliced noodles; you can't go wrong with anything you order there! 😁 On our second day in Datong, we experienced a sandstorm, a rare experience for someone from the coast. We stayed at Nanshe for three days, and because of Nanshe, I fell in love with Datong."

"This hotel is super close to the high-speed rail station, making transportation incredibly convenient. The room was spotless and felt really cozy. I loved sitting by the window, enjoying the night view and sipping tea. The front desk service was fantastic; one of the staff members had such a sweet, almost childlike voice that was really pleasant to hear. Breakfast was delicious, and the dining area was top-notch. The hotel's also near Fangte amusement park and the high-speed rail station, and getting to Datong Ancient City is easy. For places like the Hanging Temple, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, and Yungang Grottoes, you can arrange a car service directly from the hotel, which is super handy. This hotel is absolutely great value for money! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Datong. Trust me on this one – I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Datong."

"The environment and design of Wantoo B&B are warm and comfortable, and the coffee shop in the courtyard has a very romantic ambiance. The rooms are clean and cozy, and the breakfast is well-balanced. The owner, who prepares breakfast, mentioned that the breakfast menu changes daily, but unfortunately, we only stayed for two days, and indeed, the breakfasts were different on both days. The front desk lady had an excellent service attitude. Since there aren't many supermarkets in the old town, it's hard to find fruit, but she kindly gave us apples and pears. The B&B offers free bicycles and tricycles, and spending a day cycling freely around the old town was truly delightful. It was a genuinely great experience."

"Meijing Heyang Hotel is conveniently located right next to Datong Ancient City, just a 6-7 minute walk away. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive and clean, and the rooms are quiet, exactly as described. The staff, from the front desk receptionists and restaurant servers to the housekeeping team, are all friendly and provide excellent service. The lady at the front desk even gave us a free room upgrade, and their recommendations for local food were truly outstanding. Meijing Heyang Hotel offers great value for money and is highly recommended!"

"The customer service was very welcoming and upgraded my room immediately. The room was spacious, clean, and tidy. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and the shower equipment was new with strong pressure, making for a pleasant shower. The hotel is located next to a quiet residential area and is very close to Huayan Temple, with ample parking. Restaurants and supermarkets are within walking distance, making it very convenient. This is definitely the best choice for a trip to Datong."

"The staff were so so friendly and super nice!!! Told them it was our honeymoon and there was a handwritten note with fruits and snacks waiting for us on the table. They didn't have to, but they did ☺️ when we left, we were rushing for the train and didn't have time to eat breakfast. The staff were so concerned we were skipping breakfast she quickly packed some food for us to go and even ran after us to pass us cutlery because she forgot to pack some. Would recommend staying here 10/10!"

"This review is completely unsolicited, and as a Chinese person, I wouldn't mislead another. First off, the location is incredibly convenient. You can spot the hotel right from the traffic light at the North Gate of the Ancient City Wall, making it perfect for visiting attractions like the Ancient City Wall, Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, and Daiwang Mansion. Secondly, the hotel itself is very welcoming. There's a children's play area and a coffee shop on the first floor. The rooms are genuinely clean and quiet. The air conditioning vents are built-in, so it's not blowing directly on you, which is very comfortable. Each tissue even has a different blessing on it, and the facilities are all very well-equipped. Also, the sliced noodles at the restaurant are delicious! They're much more to my taste than those at Dongfang Sliced Noodles, for example. We checked in on the evening of the 29th, which was during their soft opening, so there weren't many guests. However, they still diligently prepared breakfast according to our preferences after asking what we wanted. Hats off to them! Finally, the service is truly exceptional! I called in the morning of check-in to reserve a parking spot, and in the evening, they asked about our breakfast preferences for the next day. There was bottled water available in the hallway, and they patiently answered every single question. The experience was truly, truly excellent. To sum it up, I wholeheartedly recommend it! Full marks!"

"I made a spontaneous decision to visit Datong and stumbled upon this Holiday Inn. The promotional pictures were exactly what I was looking for, but I was still pleasantly surprised by how perfect my stay turned out to be! I called the front desk, and they prioritized getting my room ready. The young lady at the front desk during check-in was incredibly enthusiastic. She told me all about the hotel's facilities, the gym's location, and even their Chinese restaurant's set menus, which were a great deal and featured delicious Datong specialties with excellent service. The room was incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean. The overall environment and facilities are top-notch. The hotel has only been open for a year, so the rooms are all smart-enabled, featuring smart toilets, smart curtains, and a massive TV. The entire experience felt very welcoming. The hotel's overall ambiance is fantastic; the lobby bar is particularly unique, and the drinks and coffee are delicious and expertly prepared. The general environment is beautiful, and I loved the pleasant fragrance on the first, second, and fifth floors. I will definitely be staying here again next time!"

And even though the hotel is in a bustling area, the soundproofing in the rooms is incredibly effective. It's quiet despite being in the middle of everything, so my rest was completely undisturbed. The service was equally impressive. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff greeted me with smiles, processed my check-in very efficiently, and even thoughtfully asked about my travel plans, offering tips for local sightseeing. Seeing me with luggage, they proactively helped carry it to the elevator. It’s these small details that truly show their dedication, and this just-right level of warmth made me feel incredibly welcome. (The front desk gentleman who checked me in that day was very patient, though I didn't catch his name.) Now, about the room experience – it truly surprised me. The room was spacious, well-laid-out, and had fantastic natural light. The bedding was soft and gentle on the skin, and there were multiple pillow options. As someone who values good sleep quality, I had a wonderfully restful night. The cleanliness was impeccable; every corner was spotless. The wet/dry separation in the bathroom was also a thoughtful touch, and the toiletries were of good quality. You can really tell the hotel pays attention to details. The breakfast also deserves praise. The restaurant environment was elegant, the ingredients fresh, and dishes were refilled promptly. The staff were also very diligent in clearing plates, ensuring a great start to the day. Overall, this stay far exceeded my expectations. Both the facilities and the soft services demonstrated the hotel's professionalism and attentiveness. It offers excellent value for money.
