This guesthouse, perched on a hill, seems to be quite popular with influencers, featuring many Instagrammable photo spots. The restaurant's view is also fantastic; having breakfast with that sea view in the morning is incredibly enjoyable. Unfortunately, the weather on our first day was terrible, with strong winds and heavy rain, which completely dampened my enthusiasm for taking photos. I imagine it would be amazing to visit in the summer! The in-room amenities were a bit lacking; perhaps to maintain a stylish look, there weren't many power outlets. However, the service attitude was absolutely superb—they were always ready to help. They even gave plenty of advice to us fishing novices who were enthusiastic but unskilled. I must also mention the free pick-up and drop-off service, which saved us a good amount of money, considering that taxi fares on Shengshan and Gouqi Islands can be quite expensive. The recommended driver was also very nice. I'd definitely come back in the summer just for this level of service!

I have always wanted to have a chance to visit Shengsi, the easternmost part of the motherland, to see the sunrise and sunset. I chose Wind Villa because it only takes ten minutes to walk to the East Cliff Cliff to watch the sunrise, and it is very close to the No Man's Village and Xiyang Bay to watch the sunset. In addition, you can watch the sunset and the waves of the sea by sitting in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in the room. I booked this homestay on Ctrip, and the overall feeling is really good. The room is clean and comfortable, and the toiletries are no less than those of a five-star hotel. The meals cooked by the boss's mother are fresh and delicious, and worth recommending.

I visited Gouqi Shengshan and Sijiao Island many years ago. The natural scenery is beautiful, but the accommodation conditions are average. This time I was pleasantly surprised to find a good resort hotel. After arriving on the island, the design of the hotel is consistent with the photos. It is modern and simple, with a Santorini style. It was a very comfortable stay and the restaurant in the hotel tasted good, so I could enjoy a leisurely vacation without leaving home, watching the sea and eating seafood in the hotel. Will stay here next time.

Every year during the off-season, I spend a few days in Putuo, and I've stayed at several hotels on the island. Xilai Zhizhu Hangshe is definitely one of the best. The location is excellent, the facilities are great, the hygiene is satisfactory, and the service is also very good. Besides the high room rate, there's hardly anything to fault. Especially the Yuanzhi Yuanwei restaurant downstairs – it was a pleasant surprise! I used to avoid 'influencer' spots, but after eating there twice, I was very impressed. No pre-made dishes, fresh ingredients, good flavor, and great value for money. I'll definitely be staying here again every year.

The hotel itself is on the Left Bank Road, built on a cliff, so you can watch the sunrise directly from your room. The sanitation service is very good. You can consult the housekeeper for any questions. It happened to be my birthday. The room was decorated with some atmosphere. Although the breakfast was not a buffet, it was very rich. They also made coffee for me, which was very comfortable. This time we happened to encounter a force 10 gale and were unable to return on schedule. The housekeeper was very considerate and told us how to book the next ferry ticket and even brought some dog food for the dog. The only drawback may be that there are too many steps. We originally booked Building 4, which has an elevator in the lobby. Because of the water pipe problem in Building 4, we upgraded to Building 6 before moving in. Although Building 6 has the highest view and the best view, it is indeed the farthest building and has too many steps, which is not very friendly to the elderly. My dog ​​originally had a ligament injury and it was a bit difficult to go up and down the stairs with my arms held the whole time. It is more suitable for young people to stay in. The view is also very good as it is a single-family building and quiet.

Service by the guy who picked us up from the airport is excellent. 10/10!!! Our luggage was damaged during the flight, he called someone to help us repair it. We were short on time for the ferry sailing to Mt Putuo due the weather conditions, that day sailings will be cancelled, (we got to chat in the van when he picked us up from the airport), he said we can just leave the luggages at the front desk and then hurriedly sent us to the port, good thing we made it. That's superb customer service!!! He didn't even want to get a tip, eventually we gave him some dried mango packs from the Philippines. The front desk guy though is a different story, he was super slow, did not know how to handle checking in of foreign passport holders I think. He has our passports and had to ask us our birthdays!! It was also difficult for him to understand the visa dates (expiry and issue dates), and he kept on asking when we arrived, it is just there stamped opposite the visa page, we just actually arrived that day, this is our first hotel. Anyway, free pick up from the airport is best and free sending to the port and then lastly also to the bus station. Great service.

The hotel service was excellent. We had a dedicated shuttle pick us up after we arrived on the island. The location is also fantastic, with beautiful night views of the surrounding area. It's only a 2-minute walk to Puji Temple. Right outside, you'll find cultural attractions and a street full of delicious food. The room was clean, tidy, and even had a dehumidifier. Definitely worth staying here.

There are comments about various problems with environmental sanitation services. As for my personal stay this time: When checking in, the front desk receptionist spoke softly and gently, and was very polite throughout the whole process. After checking in, another handsome guy showed the way and introduced the unmanned supermarket next to it, which was convenient for self-service purchase of snacks and drinks. Room hygiene: Very clean and tidy. The items were also neatly organized. There was a very retro letter on the desk. Because I came here for business and didn’t have time to eat breakfast, I didn’t have a choice, so I didn’t comment. Room service: There was nothing to clean. The auntie who hung the do not disturb also asked if I wanted to add drinking water when I went out. She was warm and thoughtful. The check-out procedure was very fast. I forgot the room card in the room and just told the front desk and left. I received the refunded deposit in one minute. I was very satisfied with this stay and will choose Xin Huaqiao next time.

Lovely location, we stayed in a room with a Seaview. The view from the balcony was truly beautiful, we ate at the Westin (they offer a breakfast and dinner buffet), they also have a vegetarian restaurant behind the main restaurant area. Definitely recommend this option for meals, the quality is great and the buffet is from 530pm - 9pm. Access buffet tickets through scanning the code, don’t let people trick you into buying tickets at higher prices, ask for the QR code/ mini program to buy meal vouchers. We were tricked into buying meal vouchers through the hotel as we arrived for a slightly higher price. Then soon learnt that you can buy them for cheaper on their mini program! Beach access - locals need to show ID and pay 10rmb. Although we had mostly cloudy days, the environment is very comfortable and the food from the Westin was delicious.
