"I seldom share my experiences in Chinese hotels. That is a mistake. China’s hotels are among the world’s most comfortable and reasonably priced.  I am now in the home of chairman Mao and staying at the very comfortable Jianguo hotel. After arriving in  Shaoshan  (over 38 years since my last visit), I have been overwhelmed by the friendliness of the local people and the staff at the Jianguo hotel.  In what may be called one of the more politically important destinations in China, I have found open arms and smiles. My American friends can learn something from this. I am clearly not a local but, even during this time of geopolitical tension, I am receiving nothing less than genuine  friendship, no animosity, and this makes me feel optimistic. I hope that we in the United States can learn from the Chinese people’s example. Thank you, everybody at the Jianguo Hotel. including Liu Zheng who personally took me to Chairman Mao’s residence this morning.  He offered to do this while eating dinner in the hotel restaurant last night (please try the 香椿拌豆腐). He introduced me to the park’s director and facilitated everything to make this visit so special. Liu Jingli just treated me to lunch and is driving  me to the train station. This kind of service I’ve never received before in my hundred plus countries and I think that it is important that we share these stories with the outside world. This hospitality, too, is an essential part of China. (I would argue it is even more real than the news stories we receive out of Washington DC.) Chairman Mao’s home will forever echo with not just memories of the past but optimism of a more respectful and inclusive future."

"Highly recommended!!! Nestled in a quiet courtyard at the foot of Shaofeng Mountain, the rooms are clean and fresh, and the courtyard has a great atmosphere. In the evening, I enjoyed a drink with friends in the courtyard, enjoying the mountain breeze. Breakfast was delicious, especially the rice noodles. The kitchen lady enthusiastically added fresh day lilies grown at home, which were delicious. 😍 The most important thing is that the proprietress is beautiful and generous. We had a lot of fun drinking and chatting together in the evening."

"The decoration style of the room is particularly like, the minimalist Zen atmosphere is full, the tatami is very soft and very comfortable. Each room is very clean and the furniture equipment inside is very new. The special surprise is that the homestay is particularly good for filming, and the room and the yard below are very beautiful. The boss is also very good, very patient, the pick-up service is particularly professional, the restaurant introduced is particularly delicious and cheap. The biggest pleasure of this trip is given by the homestay!"

"This homestay really dug a treasure! The design of the public area is directly full, the vine-woven lamps are matched with wooden tables and chairs, and the warm yellow lights are super warm. Whether it is a small sitting in the leisure area or a bar drinking coffee, it is super stylish, and the details are all attentive. "One word: praise! The whole family chose Jiahua B&B for travel. After the stay, the whole family recognized it. The elderly and children felt that they lived very comfortably. The location is excellent, walking directly to the former residence, it is especially convenient to visit and play. The room was cleaned, the layout was warm, and the living experience was great. The boss is hospitable, the service is thoughtful, and the needs will be met as much as possible. The environment of the homestay is quiet, the sound insulation effect is good, the night sleep is very solid, and the price is super high. Come to Lushan to live here and experience it directly full, and the breakfast made by the proprietress is also very delicious! There is also an elevator in the homestay"

"The room was very clean, and the air was exceptionally fresh, making for a pleasant morning run. The landlady kindly picked us up from the station, which was very convenient. It's best to drive here, as it's about a 15-minute walk to Chairman Mao's former residence. We found it very pleasant to walk in spring, but for those who don't want to walk, taking a taxi isn't very convenient. The atmosphere in the scenic area is wonderful, and the water is all spring water. Next time I come, I'll definitely go hiking and stay for a few more days."

"The stay experience was really great. I am a person who sleeps very lightly, but I sleep very well here. The room is soundproofed and quiet. The curtains are also very good for shading, so that I can rest well to relieve the fatigue of the journey. The room was very clean and the proprietress was very enthusiastic.
