"Back again! This is one of my favorite hotels. The pool is stunning; it would probably be even better to go in the morning when it's less crowded. The lake view is unbeatable. I didn't have much time at the hotel, but I still managed to walk by the lake for half an hour in the morning. I loved the buckwheat porridge, buckwheat juice, and stir-fried loofah tips at breakfast. Next time, I'll definitely stay for a couple more days to run, swim, hike, read, relax with tea, and soak up the sun."

"Came here for a weekend getaway with my family, hoping to see the seagulls at Qionghai Lake. I randomly picked this hotel online because it seemed very close to all the attractions. I called ahead to let the front desk know my arrival time, and they even added me on WeChat to send me recommendations for local tours and food – that was really great, haha, very thoughtful! The service was excellent. When we checked in, the room was surprisingly spacious and well-lit, and the cleanliness was top-notch, super satisfied. The winter scenery in Xichang is also stunning, and sunbathing during the day was incredibly comfortable. If I ever get the chance to visit Xichang again, I'll definitely choose this hotel, hahaha."

"My grandson declared before his school even broke up that he wanted to go on a trip with his grandparents during the summer holiday. To fulfill his request, we thought long and hard and decided on a relaxing few days in Xichang, which boasts the lakeside Qionghai and Lushan Mountain, a pleasant climate that's warm in winter and cool in summer, and even a Space City experience that kids love… I compared two hotels on Trip.com that were closest to Qionghai Lake (Qionghai Hotel and Qionghai Bay Park Hyatt Hotel), both old five-star establishments. After careful consideration, I booked a main building lake-view twin room at Qionghai Bay Park Hyatt Hotel for four nights and five days (July 3rd to 7th). After school finished, my grandson, my wife, and I traveled from Chengdu East to Xichang West by high-speed train, a 3.5-hour journey. We picked up the rental car my son booked on Trip.com and drove to Qionghai Bay Park Hyatt Hotel by Qionghai Lake, beginning our 5-day trip to Xichang… We stayed at the Park Hyatt for 5 days and 4 nights and also visited Qionghai Hotel. Firstly, I much preferred the ambiance of the Park Hyatt Hotel. Although Qionghai Hotel has a larger area and lovely greenery, and even peacocks roaming the grounds, its location closer to the city center makes it a bit more bustling compared to the tranquil atmosphere of the Park Hyatt. The water quality of Qionghai Lake in general is also inferior to the section by the Park Hyatt. The coastline here is more pristine and natural, with lush trees swaying in the breeze. Strolling through the woods and along the sandy beach, playing in the shallow water, taking a nap, jogging or cycling on the path, and swimming in the pool – it’s all much more enjoyable! Secondly, while Qionghai Hotel's architecture is indeed stylish and grand, I personally prefer the Southeast Asian style of the Park Hyatt Hotel, which is tucked away in the woods by Qionghai Bay, intermittently revealing a seaside vibe around the lake… No more rambling, let's get to the practical points: First, although the hotel has been open for over a decade, the architecture and facilities are well-maintained. The room facilities don't look old at all, and the Southeast Asian-style ceiling fan is convenient and comfortable to use. Second, the service attitude and cleanliness are thorough and responsible. Third, the breakfast is rich, healthy, and hygienic. Fourth, the pool water is clean. Overall, staying at the Park Hyatt Hotel with my grandson for 5 days and 4 nights was a good experience, and I discussed the few minor issues with the front desk."

"The location of this hotel is superb, the room is clean and tidy, the facilities are complete, the service is warm and thoughtful, the experience is full, it is recommended! If you drive, the car must be parked in the scenic parking lot and you have to pay the parking fee yourself."

"The hotel is about 500 meters from Qionghai Wetland Park. There's a convenient shuttle bus service around the park. It's about 1.5 kilometers from Dashiban Village and about 3.5 kilometers from Golden Beach. It's currently the off-season, so there weren't many guests. The staff at check-in, Xiao Jin, accommodated our needs, arranging a quiet, sunny room and introducing nearby attractions and restaurants. They were very helpful in answering any questions we had. They recommended Yangjia Fish Restaurant, about 300 meters away. We ordered stir-fried eel with cured pork, which was delicious with rice. The vegetables were cooked with lard. We've eaten eel quite often, but this time it felt like wild-caught, and the price was reasonable. At 8 pm, the hotel offers complimentary fruit, snacks, and cold dishes. We were lucky enough to catch a large quantity of local blueberries, which were 65 yuan per jin (500g) – huge and fresh! The lakeside boardwalk is perfect for walking and cycling around the lake. It takes about 35 minutes by taxi from the hotel to Xichang West Railway Station. Traffic can be congested on weekends, so allow extra time. I would definitely choose the Howard Johnson Hotel again for its pristine environment next time."

"The room is large and the price/performance ratio is very high. It is worth recommending. I came to Dashiban Village a few years ago. I came here during May Day this year. It has undergone tremendous changes. There is a strong commercial atmosphere. At the entrance, the hotel has a shuttle bus to pick up and drop off. It is very convenient to drag luggage and bring children. The breakfast is still good, and there are also things for children to play. I will choose here next time."

Front desk staff, Xiao Wang and Xiao Chen, provided excellent service – they were patient, polite, and enthusiastic. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would recommend this hotel."
