"DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL I am not someone who normally complains, but unfortunately I feel I have no choice but to formally raise a complaint about our recent holiday. Booked with On The beach , advertised as 4 star. This was sold to me as a 4-star all-inclusive hotel, however, in my experience it was nowhere near a 4-star standard and was more comparable to a 2–3-star property. I paid approximately £3,000 for the holiday, which I feel was completely disproportionate to the standard and service we received. I booked two rooms — one for myself and one for my daughter, who was celebrating her 19th birthday during the holiday. Sadly, what should have been a special birthday became an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience for both of us. Accommodation The rooms were extremely basic and did not meet what I would reasonably expect from a 4-star hotel. In my daughter’s room, there were bugs appearing in the sink on a daily basis. I reported this to reception on two separate occasions. Someone came to inspect the issue but told us that it was not their department, and the problem was never resolved. There was also no complimentary drinking water in the rooms, despite the hotel being advertised as all-inclusive. Although fridges were provided, they contained no water. There were also no tea or coffee-making facilities in the rooms. The reception area was approximately a 15-minute walk away if we wanted to get a drink, and bottled water was being charged at €2 per bottle. Food and All-Inclusive Facilities The food was one of the biggest disappointments. The main restaurant repeatedly offered extremely basic food, including pasta and tomato sauce on a daily basis. There was very little choice of meat other than pork, which I do not eat. Fish was not adequately labelled, which was particularly concerning as I have a fish allergy, meaning I could not safely choose many of the dishes available. We were told that we needed to book the alternative restaurants, but these were fully booked for much of our stay. As a result, despite booking an all-inclusive holiday, we were effectively left with the main restaurant and its very limited food options. On three occasions, we felt so poorly from the food and lack of suitable options that I had to pay for a taxi, approximately €25 each way, to take us to Terracini for a decent meal. Breakfast was also extremely limited, with very little beyond cake, croissants, boiled eggs and ham. We were barely able to eat properly during the holiday. There were also additional charges for items that I would reasonably expect to be included in an all-inclusive package, including: * Bottled water – €2 per bottle * Pizza slices – €4 per slice * Cocktails 7 euro * Wine 7 euro a glass * ⁠no wifi in the rooms I therefore have serious concerns about what exactly was included within the “all-inclusive” package that I paid for. The service is excellent, with owners, Rossella and Francesco, careful to every need, including the car park pass. The location is perfect, behind the terrain square, a step from the move, but at the same time silent. The sea is also accessible by foot. We will certainly return."
