Hotel Standlhof Zillertal ★★★

"A 3star stay I would rate as 5star. Stayed here for summer so haven’t experienced it as a ski resort. Fabulous breakfast with scrambled eggs which Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay would compliment. The dinners offered very authentic Austrian cuisine at reasonable rates. Good cocktails served too. Most of the ingredients for the food comes from local farms and suppliers. Cost restaurant and lounge which is equipped with games and books. Very homely place, so don’t expect luxury amenities but a comfy room which is well cleaned. The staff are absolutely fabulous. Thomas(the boss) is a passionate adventurer who loves to share his Austria with patrons. He expends a lot of time to properly explain what one can do in the area and gives his personal insights as he’s done it all himself. When we visited the local water park, they prepared a complimentary bag each with towels, slippers, bathrobe and a book to take with us. Thomas and his team gave us advice every morning with regards to our itinerary and weather, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."

"As if the Zillertal wasn't beautiful enough: hiking, biking and skiing trails. We didn't get to partake in the latter, since we went in the summer. The bonus is that's the offseason, which meant we got very reasonable rates; these included breakfast and dinner, plus an afternoon dessert. And the Achensee makes for a beautiful day trip (be advised: the water is very cold!). What a find! Beautiful and clean rooms, wonderful service... the staff went out of their way when they found we were visiting from the US. And don't be surprised to hear their tales of coming to America, or to have their waitresses eager to practice their English on you. Bicycle rentals are free; you get your deposit back if you manage to bring them back in one piece (not a problem, the trails we took were quite easy, but there are some more difficult mountain trails for the adventurous). The hotel also has a small pool (not very exciting) along with infrared booths and a dry sauna. But the highlight of these amenities is the roman steam room, complete with a tub of cold water on the side. What an experience! If we have one complaint, it's that the dining room was a little on the warm side. But the food was delicious, and always came with wine. And, as I mentioned before, the service was attentive and very personable. All in all, it was an experience we would both recommend to everyone!"

"Quite the place - lovely view perfect food and very friendly staff. We paid 249pp + 249 minus 10% for extra child. This last being a bit overprized. Breakfast is excellent all you can wish for. 14h till 16h nice afternoon buffet and daily choice of three dinner menus. We had suite 119: very spacious, large bathroom, seperate toilet and seated IR room. Enormous terras (you could host a 10 person drink) with magnificent view over water, golf to the mountains. Large and spatious parking with lots of e-chargers. Only negative point is the lack of help with the luggage -carriages are available."

"We stayed for a week in the Sonnblick house with 8 adults and 4 children. Bedrooms are fine, all equipped with a sink and mirror. The downstairs bathroom could be renovated but is usable. The bathroom on floor 1 is new. Nice walk-in shower, missing sink/m"
