We came for a relaxing and unique experience on our last day of holidays and got the exact opposite. This place lacks hospitality. The staff and management don't know how to handle situations and they make mistakes and omit information. They will try to overcharge you for many things. The quality is substandard. When we arrived we asked for room service but were told they are very busy and so this will take more than an hour and that to make it easier we should come to the restaurant instead. So we do and when we get there the waiter tells us arrogantly that for this time they will allow us to order something from the room service menu - as if they were doing us a favour. Then the spa - you can only use the spa 4 hours consecutively (this is omitted from their website). When I received the confirmation of my booking and they sent a message specifying that this needed to be consecutively, we asked if it was possible to do 2 hours one day and 2 hours the next but were straight away declined. We thought about getting massages but they only do it in the afternoon so they said they could do it during our 4 hour spa time or the next day in the afternoon. As we had only booked for one night we said we would think about it and possibly pay extra to pay for the spa the next day so that we could get the massages. However, when we entered the spa, that's when they decided to tell us that they have closed their sauna and hammam for COVID reasons so only the pools are open. When you point it out to them, they say that in the website, it is written ”following the Italian decree” but the decree says you can keep open sauna and hammam as long as you do it under reservation and you clean it. So they specifically omit information to lure customers. The spa manager approached us after we spoke to the receptionist and offered us one free cup of Himalayan salts scrub used in the hammam to probably ”calm us” which we thought ridiculous and not sure how to take that. When we left the spa and spoke to the receptionist again, they reminded us that they gave us some salts - I was dumbfounded. We obviously did not pay for an extra spa day or the massages. As for the pools, they are not that ”interesting”. They have the usual jets but the pressure isn't that great and the whirlpool was not hot enough. Their walking cold to hot pool was neither cold enough or hot enough. The atmosphere is like being in a normal hotel swimming pool. The Quercus restaurant was fraud. I have eaten in many fine dining but we paid 230 euros for 2 people that left a bad taste instead of blissful happiness. We went early for an aperitivo - we ordered an over priced glass of their bubbles and the accompaning food arrived 20 minutes after we finished drinking the wine. For dinner, you can order a la carte (recommended) or they have set menus that you don't know what you're getting because it's the chef who comes up with it based on (what we thought) our tastes. This place has been everything we wanted and more. We choose this place because we thought it was modern and had a good breakfast but oh boy, it is MUCH MORE THAN THAT. The place has been just refurbished and everything from the moment you get in is clean and with beautiful inspired 50’s / 60’s retro modern decor that just screams COOL! Breakfast is amazing and it has a wide variety of savour and sweet foods that will be more than enough. We asked for a non dairy milk, and after 5 minutes we have Rice Soja and Oats to choose from ❤️ The staff are Incredible helpful and sweet and they are on top of everything. Paying attention to to very little details and that’s what makes such difference in this place. Nothing was left to chance. Bedroom was spacious, modern, the sower with so much pressure, towels clean, everything working round the clock. The common areas are so big and full of board games, sofas comfortable and it’s just a space where You can see beauty and feel you belong all the time. No wonder anymore and come and STAY in this magnificent place. 😉

After a long time, finally an overnight stay in this beautiful hotel. Closed because of Covid, but now open again. Good: Friendly staff, very nicely furnished rooms (especially deluxe rooms and up). Great pillows, fast wifi, good lighting concept, nice terrace, big bathroom. Not so good: Breakfast room a bit cold in terms of a**osphere

It's a fairytale! It took me a lot to decide if to take the risk to travel or not. I'm glad I did take the risk! This is the first holiday when I don't check anything about the place I was going to stay, surrounding area not at all, just wanted to escape London for a bit. From far one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. The hotel looks like a museum, incredibly amazing, surprises didn't chased to happen, they have a pool, tennis court, soccer court so many facilities, it's crazy. The room I've stayed, stunning,the view from the balcony took my breath away. It's quite, it's beautiful, it's perfect! Hotel stuff, they couldn't do any better than this, friendly, willing to assist whenever necessary, I felt like home! I've even got an early check in 🤗.Thank you Domenico, Monica, Andrea, Manpreet and everyone else!!! For anyone looking to escape the madness from a busy city like London let's say, this is the best place to be! P.S. make sure you bring mosquitoes spray, as I've mentioned I haven't done any inquiries before coming so, mosquitoes attack wasn't fun at all. I was looking forward to have dinner in the outdoors restaurant which ended up being a nightmare, but it was entirely my fault, the hotel is located on a hill, surrendered by trees obviously you'll have to deal with mosquitoes. I love this place for its location near a huge forest great for running and cycling - even on a freezing winter morning! It was a good price, well organised, friendly staff and very clean. It is away from most things near an industrial estate but I chose it for the proximity to the forest and all the trails there :) It was also a simple walk to a small town with pizza and some basics. I didn't have the breakfast as it seemed quite expensive and was too busy running ;)

Nice and modern hotel in good location with great views over the Lago di Lugano. The staff was professional, experienced and super friendly. Breakfast was always good with plenty of choice. We'll definitely stay again at Grand Hotel Campione!

Nice hotel, spacious room which was clean. Hotel is 15 mins walk from train station which makes it really easy to get to Como (2 stops on train) Great value hotel. Not much nearby in terms of bars and restaurants.

I was on a Northern Italy Lake Tour with my mom and best friend with 25 other people. This hotel was the second stop of our trip. The travel company selected the hotels, so we were at the mercy of where they put us. If you like rock hard beds, wafer thin pillows, scratchy rough sheets, semi clean rooms, abrasive and rude staff, then this is a place for you! The two stars are for excellent wifi connection and speed and friendly housekeeping staff. This is clearly a very busy hotel. Every time we went through the lobby there were groups checking in. The sign said the air conditioning in the hotel would be on until 10/22, and we checked out before the 22nd and it was never on. Rooms were stuffy and hot. We had to ask about opening the window, which we had to sign a waiver (understandable - there are no screens). Each bed had one very thin pillow. When we asked for 3 more (one for each in the room) the look of dismay and surprise from the person at the front desk was almost comical. The fridge in the room was stocked daily, but never was cold enough to even chill the bottles. We had the same waiter two nights and he was miserable, unfriendly, inattentive and just down right rude. I tried to be friendly to see if it would help - and it didn’t. When asking for directions at the front desk the person seemed annoyed that we asked, was very curt and snotty. Even when looking at other staff they all looked miserable - no one smiled. At least the housekeeping ladies were pleasant and greeted you with good morning and a smile. Not an overly welcoming experience and I couldn’t wait to check out and continue on our trip. If I was to come back, I certainly would not book to stay here.

WOW - this is just the most magnificent boutique hotel and a truly exceptional position. It’s super close to the lake AND shops AND restaurants - we only had a day and a half but I would gladly come back for a few days. One of our rooms had a window view directly our over the lake (302) and the other had a little balcony that offered views of the lake. (403) . I preferred the 302 room but my daughter said that it was a bit noisy due to the stream of cars. The rooms are comfy although I always dislike the joined single beds to create a king bed with a join. I always seem to end up stuck in the join (no matter how small the crack😂) The decor of the hotel is like a plush reminder of the 1930s - I felt like George Cluney might come round a corner at any moment. The building is superb and VERY picturesque. Service has been excellent and we feel very privileged. We have just finished breakfast in the most divine outdoor setting in the hotel grounds overlooking the lake. It is a bright blue sky and the wind is calm - I don’t think life gets much better than this.. Last night we dined at Ristorante Sottovoce which was a mere 100m away and absolutely as MUST do while staying at the perfect venue. “It’s such a shame we’re only here for one night” , my wife just said. But we still have a few hours to do a guided but tour with a private captain/guide - so there is still more special-ness to enjoy.

I had only 1 night, for a night I stayed at the hotel and ordered. This purpose the hotel worked perfectly. Clean, comfortable. Good breakfast. Super-comfortable bed and good bed linen. I didn't understand the air conditioner myself, I had to ask on the recipe. The rails on the windows work a switch. Tea and refrigerator. Very soft, huge towel for the shower. Find the hotel easy, from the station straight with one turn of 10 minutes. Near the supermarket 24 hours. The city is small, so in general everything is close. From the downside - water in the shower is bad.
