Ukulhas Villa

The hotel is not what you see in the pictures. The rooms are dark, poorly cleaned, the bathroom and shower were not properly cleaned during our stay. The bedsheets and towels were stained and of very poor quality. The staff were very helpful and nice, willing to help and accommodate. However the place is not what is advertised, and the price we paid was higher than other nicer accommodations in the island.

Ukulhas villa Sadly Ukhulas Villa was not as it appears in the photos and reviews I read prior to booking (Oct 22) 😒 when getting to the island via $50 speedboat I was met with the manager who walked me to the accommodation. The sofa in the 'reception' area has the springs sticking out which ripped my trousers. Mohammed checked me in and took payment. As I was waiting, the area which on photos shows lots of greenary, flowers and clean sandy areas was not as it was in person, I think those photos were taken when it originally opened or renovated and all was tidy and new, this is very much not how it is now, it doesn't seem to be looked after or that standard maintained. I was shown to my 'guest house' which was dark, old, very dusty, plug sockets hanging out the walls, ceiling fan not securely fastened, broken cupboards, old dirty stained towels and bedding even curtains had stains. The wallpaper was peeling off, tiles in the bathroom not fully grouted and the grout that was there was crumbling out. The tiles were dusty, seals and stained or mouldy in the shower area, around the toilet and on the fridge door and seal. I checked for bugs in the bed which I found a couple. The patio was a couple of slabs with dirty chairs and a table, right next to the wall separating the accommodation to the main 'street'. There was rubbish bags, waste materials and the main bin against the patio to my room. When I asked to move the rooms I was shown which were more expensive we're the same and no better in cleanliness or warrant an additional charge. I arranged to move island but as the last boat has left I had to spend the night in the best of a bad bunch of rooms at ukulhas villa where I was bitten by mosquitos and ants in the eating area, having what was a very limited and bland 'buffet'. Before leaving first thing the next day I found the 'bikini beach' at the end of the island which nice but not enough to put up with everything else at somewhere like the Maldives. It's a shame because when I advised I was leaving they were accommodating in giving a refund for the remaining days I originally booked. Wouldn't recommend to visit this accommodation. But would recommend a refurbishment and then maintain standards as feedback for the accommodation.

Our first visit at ukulhass Beach Hotel. Reaching the place was a task as the speed boat has certain timing and we were told if you miss the morning one have to wait another 7 hours, But they said will try to wait few minutes though.However we did not want to risk,So we took a earlier flight. Expectation and reality are 2 different things.May be the expectation as we have stayed in different places before in other countries and when we saw the first time the place we were like really?(on website it says villa/hotel).It was more like a family run business,But settled down slowly. Place is beautiful becoz of the beach sand etc.Hotel,or villa can improve on few things,Informed the manager or owner (the photo shown in ***********) maybe only one room the one we got was in ground floor. They have to upgrade the quality of linen (Towels,bedsheets,blanket OR cover spreads),amenities in bathroom,smell in toilets were awful,linen sofa had dirt could maintain. We really liked the staff hospitality thats a 5star,along with food served on time,beach just walkable distance. Bunk for kids were available. Thank you for the nice approach and hospitality to staff 👍👍 ..The 4 star rating in overall is only for the staff, But your staff are really 5star..(please improve the room amenities,room maintenance linen etc). If not for staff and friendliness!! Thank you..

Very nice rooms, recommend a room on the top floors with views. Beautiful shower with a sea view. Beautiful Beach is 5 minute walk away. They will arrange transfers to and from port. They have very nice excursions : swimming with Mantaray's: Amazing!!! Sand bank trip also recommended!

We had a good time with our family staying here for 4 days. There was always a buffet for breakfast and dinner but I would in the future only book breakfast as there are enough options next to the beach. The hotel room - we had a deluxe room was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 children. The name villa is a bit misleading as it is simply a room. You walk about 2 minutes to the amazing beach. They got 5 stars as we forgot our iPhone and sent it to another island we were staying after for no charge. That’s what I call real customer service. Thanks a lot again! They change money if you need to for a good exchange rate.

We booked a room with Ukulhas Villa via Agoda. After booking I explicitly asked the Ukulhas Villa manager (Ahmed) if the room we booked has 4 beds (since it was 4 of us) and he confirmed that he will add extra beds to the room we booked. Once we arrived, instead of a nice room with a view (as in pictures on Agoda), we were put into some dark room with ants and mosquito larvae in a different guesthouse (Starry Night). After a basically sleepless night and with two small kids, we didn't have the strength to try to find some other place so we accepted what we got. Additional surprise was when I wanted to write a review on Agoda after I came back from Maldives - my booking in Agoda was marked as Cancelled. I contacted the Agoda Customer Service (again) and explained to them what happened asking to change the status of the booking so that I can write a review which they declined.So basically I was cheated by the guesthouse manager and Agoda is favouring hotels/guesthouses over travellers. I booked two places for our Maldives trip over Agoda and the second one went fine but I will probably not book via Agoda again and get back to the more reliable *********** (although with a bit higher prices). That also explains why Ukulhas Villa has so good reviews - whenever there is some issue, I guess that guesthouse manager just marks the booking as cancelled (without a fee) so that travellers can't write a review. For Ukulhas Villa I'm reading now that this is a common practice - you book one room and they actually put you somewhere else. I also heard that they are offering discounts if you write a nice review so the scores on Agoda, ***********, Tripadvisor and Google are not trustworthy. My recommendation for Ukulhas Villa - please think twice if you want to book with them because they are dishonest and unreliable. You might get what you booked but you might also get something completely different.

Good accommodations with everything you need to feel welcome and satisfied.. staffs super friendly and careful, we stay 9 nights and only good things to talk about everyone! Thank you guys for all the attention and support! Ronaa, Ahmed, Nazim, lhiyanu! You were amazing! Thanks for everything!

We loved our short stay; the food was good ( a self-service buffet), the room clean, the shower modern and the staff was kind and helpful. There are a store two steps away and a bikini beach 1-minute walk.

Top service from first meeting to departure. Good location and quite sleep. Flight good deelayed sonwe missed last ferry. Mohammed set us up with hotel etc for 1 night in male. Would recommend. Visited 4 island. Ulukhas intotaly number one
