"Stumbled across this pub after a walk through Usk. Proper country pub, fabulous atmosphere, cosy corners, very Christmassy, lots of lights inside and out, Christmas tree, real fires, faux furs, rustic and very clean. There are some large rooms with big tables in for gatherings offering some privacy, a dining area, an outside wooden cabin which is decorated and heated. It’s quite unusual inside, one room looked like a library with a large dining table for example and there are stairs leading upstairs and off to the sides, some low ceilings in some areas- unique. There are outside benches also and lovely grassed areas. We only stopped for a drink initially as knew they’d stopped serving food however the chef stayed on for us, so we enjoyed a lovely meal here. There’s a good selection of food plus specials, and a vegan menu. It was fresh, plentiful and very hot. Husband had a turkey burger which was lovely and I had a tasty cod and chips. They we were not phased that we initially only stopped for a drink and I didn’t see anyone turned away. There’s also a secure dog field so your pup can burn some energy off if need be before going inside. There’s a bar if you want drink/ snack which is located up a few steps or if you can’t do steps there are some rooms for which the access is flat and the toilets can also be accessed easily. You can also stay here which is a bonus. Would be a lovely wedding venue / birthday venue etc. It’s a rare find to come across a proper pub these days rather than a chain. Will be back."

"We had a lovely time, overall the hotel is excellent, staff friendly and professional, food is top quality and our room was very comfortable. Downside was lack of tissues which we forgot to take so would have been nice to have them in the room."

"Μείναμε δύο νύχτες σε αυτό το όμορφο μπαρ στην όμορφη πόλη Ουσκ... πολύ φιλικό καλωσόρισμα και μας έδειξαν στο δωμάτιο 3, ένα διπλή δωμάτιο με διπλό δωμάτιο, που βλέπει τον κήπο της μπύρας του μπαρ... είχε ό,τι χρειαζόμασταν και ήταν πολύ άνετο και πολύ νοικοκυρευτικό. Είχαμε κράτηση για το εστιατόριο την πρώτη μας νύχτα, που ήταν υπέροχο. Παρήγγειλες πρωινό το βράδυ πριν από ένα σημείωμα στο δωμάτιό σου και πρέπει να παραδεχτώ ότι τα μάτια μας ήταν μεγαλύτερα από τα στομάχια μας, επειδή δεν μπορούσαμε να το τελειώσουμε. Αν θέλετε ένα λαμπρό μέρος να μείνετε, τότε αυτό δεν είναι αυτό, αλλά αν θέλετε ένα μέρος με λίγο χαρακτήρα, καλό φαγητό και θερμό καλωσόρισμα, τότε έλα εδώ."

"Trip was booked as I was meeting someone at the mooring of my boat nearby. excellent location, and had opportunity to play tennis an swim, I also took advantage of the beautician having a manicure ready for an interview... im extremely pleased with the stay, room 51 was perfect for my requirements room 47 was lovely for my daughter. I will stay there again."

"We only stayed one night, room was really nice, our evening meal and also good, but the one thing that let our stay down was the breakfast, iv never stayed in a hotel that doesn't have a breakfast menu or any cereals or fruit, juices, I know we could ask for different things but it seems odd that we had to ask for everything, we were told about the cooked breakfast but wasn't offered anything else, it was only when we heard another guest asking for fresh fruit that we thought oh that's a shame we would have probably had yogurt and cereal to start."

"The lodge was dirty and smelly from the entrance already. The room was small and carpet very dirty and stained all over. There is terrible traffic noise through the night. No entertainments, . This place was my worst stay ever."
