This charming and extremely well priced hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk from the main street in Viana do Castelo. The staff was lovely, the hotel charming. The room was spotless, and impeccably comfortable. The bathroom was also sparkling and everything functioned perfectly. Breakfast was lovely. The breakfast staff was cheerful and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay.

This was a nice little boutique hotel right near the historic center. We were always greeted with a smile and treated kindly. I shared a room with my son and the twin beds were more than adequate. Bathroom is on the small side but it was fine for our needs. The hotel is a little older but the elevator worked great and the entire property was well kept and clean. My only caveat was there there was no outdoor seating area, you have to wear a swim cap and water shoes for the pool and the pool was indoors in a very hot room. The continental style breakfast buffet was good and provided lots of variety. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!

Our room provided a serene space with essential amenities and a charming city view, ideal for a restful night's sleep. The unexpected highlight was the well-equipped gym, perfect for maintaining our fitness routine together. This hotel is so beautifully restored and it’s in an ideal location, right next to the train station and the funicular to the hilltop Santa Luzia, in the heart of Viana do Castelo, yet quiet and peaceful. There are many lovely spaces to sit, chat, work, play games, in the common areas. There’s a pool and patio adjacent to the bar, which also serves as the breakfast room. Important for me, due to some mobility limitations: there’s an elevator. I stayed for five nights while my husband was walking the Portuguese Camino, and he took a rest day here and stayed two nights. Our room (202) was, I believe, a standard double room, but it was spacious and very comfortable. It was serviced daily and spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, there was space to unpack and a desk to organize my things (one small drawback being the limited number of outlets, leading me to have to charge my phone next to the sink, risking it getting wet), there was a soaking tub!, and a seating area looked out the window with a view of Santa Luzia (as well as some construction and renovation or maintenance on the railroad station 😊). Some earlier reviewers disparaged the breakfast provided. Something must have changed if their reviews were accurate (maybe their feedback inspired improvement), because the amount and variety offered was considerable: a variety of breads and cereals, spreads, cheeses, deli meats, yogurt, fruit, hard boiled eggs, hot scrambled eggs, bacon, plus juice, coffee, and tea. Quite an appetizing colorful display! The best feature of this hotel though is the incredible staff! Everyone was gracious and always willing to help, with a smile. Daniela and Alberta were especially attentive and helpful to me, and Rui went way “above and beyond” in helping me get train tickets, arranging a massage for my pilgrim husband when he arrived, attending to special requests, giving excellent restaurant recommendations, etc. My heartfelt thanks for all the help so readily and graciously given. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

We spent three nights at Torre de Gomariz for some rest and relaxation after hiking a portion of the Camino Portuguese, and it was a great choice. Room was very spacious with a nice patio and huge bathroom. Enjoyed a view of the pool and the vineyards in the distance. Bed was very comfortable and it was nice having A/C for our stay. Only complaint about the room was a weird door at the back of the walk in closet that wasn't soundproofed, so often you could hear your neighbors or people walking by. Didn't want to take the car out so we ate all our meals at the property. Breakfast was excellent with both a cold buffet and choice of hot entrees - really enjoyed the pancakes with Nutella. Dinner was on the second floor of the Tower, with a good mix of Portuguese and other offerings. Servings were pretty huge, so we left full every night. It did get loud one evening as there was a tour group taking up most of the restaurant, but fortunately they went to bed earlier than us so it calmed down by dessert. Also did a wine tasting one afternoon, fun to try the various wines and really enjoyed the slight carbonization they use in the white wines. Very surprised when they gifted us with three bottles upon check-out from the hotel, and they came in handy as we were not a huge fan of the wines in Douro or Braga. The spa and pool area are a great offering, especially on rainy days when the outdoor pool isn't possible. We used the steam room and sauna every day of our stay, highly recommend reserving a visit. I also got an excellent massage on the last day of our stay as I was still a bit sore from hiking. Only other issue with our stay was an ill-timed fire alarm at 1:30 in the morning, which took a little time to shut off as most of the staff was still working a wedding. Didn't have a problem falling back to sleep, and the staff nicely gave up 15% off our spending for the inconvenience. Wasn't expecting that, and it was much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in Portugal again.

Very clean rooms, helpful staff and good food, the hotel os just outside the main town but is a pleasant short walk in beside the sea. Pool was small but not overcrowded and bar staff friendly and attentive. We had an inside room overlooking the pool and were not disturbed at all

Hotel with excellent sea view, opposite view (mountain) is an industrial area. Hotel is near a highly moving road (even night), room with little soundless windows which did not allow rest A satisfactory buffet breakfast, but nothing special. The pool and gym belong to the Solinca Group, with internal access to the hotel and can be used several times. To help, a football team was hosted that last night decided to celebrate in the lobby and in the rooms, to which the hotel staff did not give the proper answer to the problem, preferring discomfort and the complaints of the guests the resolution of the situation. I will not return to this hotel, there are other quiet and more targeted options for guests in this city.

The hotel is located high in the town. You can see the hotel at the bottom of the mountain. The drive there is very easy, and as soon as you enter the door, you can see Santuário do Sagrado Coração de Jesus. The scenery is very good and refreshing! However, our friend who was traveling with us stayed in a room with a lot of mosquitoes. At first, the receptionist said it was normal and then offered to change rooms. Apart from this one, the other rooms are okay.
