"At first glance, the place seems lovely and inviting. However, on closer inspection, there are quite a few maintenance issues that need attention. Several lights weren’t working (only about 2 out of 5), the carpet wasn’t as clean as it initially appeared, and there was mould in the shower. There are also signs of wear such as plastering around the sink, and the hairdryer made an unhealthy noise when used. The toilet bolts were loose, which was concerning. The bathroom lacks an extractor fan, so it becomes very steamy. The shower head is quite small with low pressure. While there is an outdoor area, it doesn’t offer much privacy as the motel is right on the road. Parking is available on-site, which is a plus, but there are no laundry facilities. There is a makeshift kitchenette with a toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge, and basic cutlery and crockery. However, it’s not suitable for cooking proper meals, and the lack of a sink makes washing up or even filling the kettle inconvenient. On the positive side, the location is excellent—right next to a New World supermarket and very central. Overall, the place is reasonably clean, tidy, and comfortable, but it would benefit from some maintenance."

The location was also very convenient — walking distance to the lake and the famous Wanaka Tree. Really enjoyed the peaceful and relaxing stay The restaurant served really good food and the prices were very reasonable too. Cozy atmosphere and comforting meals 🩵"

"Great location with parking, though it can get quite full. It's a short 5-minute walk to the lake, and there's a supermarket right across the street with plenty of restaurants nearby. The room only has a microwave and a fridge; no induction or gas hob, and not many other appliances. The main door is more like a balcony door. Being on the ground floor was fine, but if you're on the second floor, you'll have to carry your luggage up the stairs. All the emails and written notices stated that check-out was at 4 PM, but upon arrival, we were told it was 5 PM. I heard that for after-hours check-in, the key would be in a safe near the front desk. The toiletries provided (hand soap, shampoo, and shower gel) are all honey-scented, which was an interesting experience. The front desk was manned by a kind grandma, and I think I saw a grandpa doing the cleaning."

"The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff provided excellent service. The breakfast was very good, and the restaurant had a tasteful ambiance. They also offered free hot drinks like coffee, tea, and hot chocolate 24/7. The location was convenient, quite close to Wanaka's attractions."

"Parking space is very limited, stop opposite the hotel roadside, need to walk a long way, the bathroom in the room is hot when cold, the restaurant is not much dining, it is good to sit outdoor dining, thank you for being arranged to stay in the lower bunk, because it is very late to stay, overall it is OK"

"Parking was convenient, and it's not far from town or the attractions. The room was great with new facilities. The only issue was the lack of an elevator, which made carrying luggage upstairs a bit difficult. Overall, it offers great value for money."

"Great value for money! The room was clean and smelled lovely. The location is super convenient, just a 10-minute walk to the lake. The owner, a kind old man, even enthusiastically told our kids about a small dinosaur park nearby, which was a pleasant walk. There are lots of food options right across the street, including the popular 'Huī Hù' restaurant."

"Wanaka itself isn't a big place, and Haka is considered one of the higher-quality hostels, plus it's very close to the town center. Even during holidays, the cleanliness is consistently good. Unlike the Haka in Queenstown, perhaps because there's more space here, the accommodations are individual buildings, whereas in Queenstown, the entire second floor is dorm rooms. However, there's a gravel path leading up to this Haka, which will definitely test your suitcase wheels! Overall, it's pretty good. You can walk right out to stargaze at night and then quickly hop back into bed."

"This hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from Lake Wanaka. The only drawback is that transport in Wanaka isn't great, so if you don't have a car, you're pretty much limited to walking. It's a bit of a trek from the hotel to the supermarket and other commercial areas, which can be a hassle when carrying groceries back. However, the kitchen in the room is fully equipped, which was a huge plus. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay."

"The hotel room was spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax and move around. Overall, everything was spotlessly clean, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the essentials, making it super convenient to whip up a late-night meal whenever we wanted. While the location isn't right in the heart of the city center, it's just a quick few-minute drive away, so getting around was still incredibly easy and hassle-free. Highly recommend! :)"
