"At first glance, the place seems lovely and inviting. However, on closer inspection, there are quite a few maintenance issues that need attention. Several lights weren’t working (only about 2 out of 5), the carpet wasn’t as clean as it initially appeared, and there was mould in the shower. There are also signs of wear such as plastering around the sink, and the hairdryer made an unhealthy noise when used. The toilet bolts were loose, which was concerning. The bathroom lacks an extractor fan, so it becomes very steamy. The shower head is quite small with low pressure. While there is an outdoor area, it doesn’t offer much privacy as the motel is right on the road. Parking is available on-site, which is a plus, but there are no laundry facilities. There is a makeshift kitchenette with a toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge, and basic cutlery and crockery. However, it’s not suitable for cooking proper meals, and the lack of a sink makes washing up or even filling the kettle inconvenient. On the positive side, the location is excellent—right next to a New World supermarket and very central. Overall, the place is reasonably clean, tidy, and comfortable, but it would benefit from some maintenance."

The location was also very convenient — walking distance to the lake and the famous Wanaka Tree. Really enjoyed the peaceful and relaxing stay The restaurant served really good food and the prices were very reasonable too. Cozy atmosphere and comforting meals 🩵"

"This hotel in Wanaka is really great. We're a family of three and booked a quad room with bunk beds. We were mainly there to enjoy the beautiful scenery, so the accommodation was secondary. This hostel is very clean, almost like a hotel, just with bunk beds. My parents are quite agile, so sleeping on the lower bunk was more convenient for them. Plus, the communal kitchen is excellent and you can even cook there. If you have more money, you could book one of the detached private rentals next door. We went in January, which is peak season; February might be even more expensive. The private rentals were five times the price of this place. I think this hostel is a much better value, and it's in a prime location. It's also super convenient if you're taking InterCity as it drops you right at the hotel entrance."

"Very good a hotel apartment, very warm design, perfect facilities, neat and clean, just like your own home. Enjoying the sun on the balcony and drinking a glass of beer is life. The weather in Wanaka is too good. The hotel service is very nice and responds to requests. Also the washing machine comes with disposable detergent, too courteous. The bed was also very comfortable, the shower water was large enough to shower and shampoo very comfortable. Hope to have the chance to stay again next time."

"This hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from Lake Wanaka. The only drawback is that transport in Wanaka isn't great, so if you don't have a car, you're pretty much limited to walking. It's a bit of a trek from the hotel to the supermarket and other commercial areas, which can be a hassle when carrying groceries back. However, the kitchen in the room is fully equipped, which was a huge plus. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay."

"Great location and very clean room. I stayed in a room with a view, but there's no elevator. Even though it was only on the second floor, it was inconvenient with large luggage. The parking lot was very convenient, and there's a coffee shop right downstairs. I left early in the morning so I didn't pay attention to their opening hours. Overall, highly recommended."

"We had an excellent stay. The room and whole property are immaculate. Extremely clean and comfortable bed. Kitchen with dishwasher and mini fridge was great to have. Very welcoming and warm service. Location is a bit of a drive from the lake but there is plenty of parking around the busy area so it was easy."

"Parking space is very limited, stop opposite the hotel roadside, need to walk a long way, the bathroom in the room is hot when cold, the restaurant is not much dining, it is good to sit outdoor dining, thank you for being arranged to stay in the lower bunk, because it is very late to stay, overall it is OK"

"This hotel isn't in the heart of Lake Wanaka, but it's incredibly comfortable and cozy. It was my favorite hotel during this trip. There's a slight uphill walk from the lake to the hotel, but the residential houses along the way are really charming. There's a small play area that the kids absolutely loved. You can cook your own meals, and the bathroom even has underfloor heating. The owner is Chinese, which was a nice touch. Highly recommend it!"
