"Όταν έφτασα, δεν υπήρχε κανείς στο μπροστινό γραφείο, έτσι περίμενα... και η γυναίκα που με εξέπληξε κάπως ήταν πολύ μακριά από ευχάριστη και δεν φαινόταν να θέλει να είναι εκεί. Όταν έδωσα το κλειδί του δωματίου μου, άρχισα να περπατάω στο λόμπι αλλά δεν μπορούσα να δω κανένα σημάδι του αριθμού του δωματίου μου. Πήγα στο γραφείο να ρωτήσω πού να πάω στο δωμάτιό μου και μου είπαν να το ακολουθήσω. Πολύ άχρηστη και δυσάρεστη, δεν είμαι σίγουρος ότι αυτή η κυρία θα πρέπει να είναι μπροστά στο ξενοδοχείο. Πέρασα από την λίμνη, και είδα την αυγή με το πρωινό μου κούπα."

"I enjoyed my stay at St John's Lodge. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice ensuite shower room. The little fridge in the room was a bonus as there was fresh milk provided for cups of tea, and I was able to store a few provisions for packed lunches for my walking trips. The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast was excellent - lots of choice of fruit, yoghurts, cereals, and cooked breakfasts made to order. The location was handy for both Windermere, Bowness, Grasmere, Ambleside and Kendal, and there was a bus stop nearby so I didn't need to use my car while I was there. When you've explored the local villages, you can walk to the Bowness ferry and explore the other side of the lake which is generally quieter with lots of places to walk - Claife viewpoint, Wray Castle and Beatrix Potter's house are all within walking distance."

"The self-service check-in was very convenient. I chose an English breakfast for breakfast. I found that there was no heating in the morning, and it was a bit cold in the second half of the night. The one-night stay was okay. There was luggage storage and it was close to the station. I hiked to the top of the mountain to watch the sunset. It was a three-kilometer round trip, perfect⛰️"

During breakfast time, I met the bird introduction on the lawn outside the restaurant. The bird trainer gave a wonderful introduction to understand the protection of birds. It is convenient to walk around, and there is a printed hiking map at the front desk, which is very much in need of such a service."
