"This is an excellent hotel! Its location is superb, just a 3-5 minute walk from Sakae Station Exit 3, and very close to the airport limousine bus stop, making transportation incredibly convenient. The surrounding area has a wide range of amenities, making dining, getting around, and shopping extremely easy. Although the hotel facilities are a bit old, it's very clean and tidy. The staff service was particularly outstanding; they even helped me call a taxi. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit."

"Our family of 5 booked the room with an open air bath this January 2025. We definitely enjoyed our stay. The bath was warm and nice despite the windy and cold weather. The room/s were beautiful, the view of Ise Bay (especially at sunset) was spectacular, and the food was great, especially the dinner. The staff were really accommodating and nice, they even helped us book a taxi to the airport after we checked out. For those traveling to Shuku Kaifuu by public transportation, I recommend giving them a call before checking in so they could arrange a pick up service from Utsumi (train) station."

"Revisiting Nagoya after two years, I once again chose the Smile Hotel at the Shinkansen exit. It felt like reuniting with an old friend. The single room was surprisingly spacious – my 24-inch suitcase could lie completely flat in the aisle with room to spare, which is incredibly convenient for solo travelers. The bed was just the right firmness, and the bedside lamp provided enough light to read a few pages before bed, leading to a dreamless night's sleep. In the morning, drawing back the curtains revealed the Shinkansen tracks gleaming in the sunlight. A quick turn downstairs led directly to the ticket gates, making it easy to catch an early train with enough time to grab a hot coffee from a vending machine. The familiar city, the comfortable room, and the seamless commute made this two-day, one-night stay feel complete and perfectly arranged. Next time I'm in Nagoya, I'll likely choose this place without a second thought."

"The room is decently sized with a comfortable bed, and the friendly staff and convenient location made our stay great. However, do note that there are no baby amenities (e.g. baby toothbrush, baby shower gel, sponge, etc) provided. Also, for drivers, the parking lot closes at 10 PM, so you’ll need to be back by then. Since we were traveling with a toddler, the early closing time didn't bother us."

"Our family of four stayed in connecting rooms for 5 nights, and having two queen-sized beds and two bathrooms was quite convenient for Japan. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from Exit A1, passing a 7-Eleven and a FamilyMart on the way. The hotel offers free breakfast, evening hot springs, complimentary Pola trial amenities, and free coffee and tea in the evenings. This price is incredibly reasonable. We usually walked to Sakae, which was truly very convenient."

"The room is spacious and well equipped. It's a bit far from Nagoya station and not many buses around the hotel. It's a bit inconvenient. There's shuttle bus available in the morning on weekdays. Longer service time on weekends. Maybe the hotel is busy, the lounge staff wasn't too friendly. I have short hair but I found a long hair on my bed under the blanket. The bedsheet has some black colour fabric fibers but I wore light colour pajamas."

"If you look for a nice quiet place for a relaxing stay, this is a superb ryokan in the area that I would recommend. The ryokan building is beautifully decorated, despite its age. I particularly appreciate the sincere service from the manager and hosts. You can rely on them to take care of your stay. They could also provide pick-up and drop-off service at Utsumi Station. Dinner and breakfast were well-prepared with natural ingredients. Not only are they delicious but also presented nicely. The lobby also provides complimentary drinks and snacks - you can enjoy a little footbath there with a glass of whiskey and some nuts. Of course you cannot miss the marvellous scenery of the beach. The only downside is the public onsen bath was a little small. But in general we loved the stay."

"Hotel is amazing. We stayed for one night, got a sea of experiences. The room was very spacious, composed of two rooms. One room was with a lovely forest and mountain river! The room had hot and cold water thermos, two types of tea and a set for cooking. A set of clothes (yuccats, socks). A refrigerator, air conditioner, cleaner or air moisturizer. In the evening, while we had dinner, we were locked up in bed, asleep as killed) Kayseki's dinner is amazing, very diverse tastes, have eaten up to the descent, if honestly. Breakfast was also very saturated! Hot sources are very pleasant, only 3 species, of which 1 in the fresh air. The only thing that one was very hot for me, I couldn't even get in it, but here in the others sat with pleasure. The hosts of the hotel are very pleasant, sweet, met us, drank tea with sweets, showed where you can walk and lunch (we arrived earlier). The village itself is very picturesque, it is pleasant to walk around the district!"

"The apartment had 3 bedrooms, a toilet, and a bathroom, with a total of 8 beds. Since there are three bedrooms, I think it would be suitable for multiple families to stay together. Although there wasn't a living room, the bathroom and toilet were new and clean, which made for a comfortable stay. It was located about a 5-minute walk from the bustling downtown area, but it was surprisingly quiet at night."

Great stay, perfect service and nice staff. Breakfast is basic but good and the room could be a bit bigger. Nevertheless I can recommend the stay because of the positive points and the close distance to the train station.

Asked for a room, got the exact opposite of what I requested. High floor away from lift. So they gave me almost the lowest floor, literally next to the lifts. I booked months in advance, too. The lift itself isn't noisy, but obviously guests are. And sadly these guests were Japanese locals. A family who clearly had zero control over their children. Other problems, the onsen has no cold bath, all three baths are the same temperature, and the reclining bath has no purpose except to allow you to lie down. Plus seeing someone the member of a certain family covered in tattoos is a little frightening for my son. All this despite the signs stating no tattoos. Location is great for metro lines and for the IG Arena, if that's the reason for your visit. I would also appreciate the same manners in English that the staff provide local Japanese. Especially if the staff is already fluent in English. We too have polite ways of speaking to customers.

The location is excellent, just a seven or eight-minute walk to Nagoya Station. There's a Lawson and a Sukiya right next door. By the way, the K-Books nearby is really great for browsing, with many good deals or prices similar to the market rate.

Location is superb at Sakae area, with 24hr Donki just opposite and a Family Mart at the ground floor. Stores around include Uniqlo, GU, Daiso, ABC Mart, 3 Coins +, drug stores etc. It's walking distance around 10mins to Oasis 21 bus terminal for the direct bus to and fro airport, which I find is more convenient than taking the train as would need to exchange subway line at Nagoya station. Front desk service is good and friendly. We love the free Miso soup and drinks provided, and also amenities like facial wash, moisturiser, mask, very thoughtful gesture. They also help to store my luggage when i went for Takayama for a few days before coming back to check in again for another few days. Queen size bed room is considered spacious, bed is comfy. Just that the pillow that they provided is some kind of special functional pillow but is too thin and flat for my liking. Overall a great stay :)

The room is spacious, and the bed is extremely comfortable. Unlimited free coffee and tea are available, and the washing machine is high quality and gentle on clothes. I also really loved the shampoo and body wash provided. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely consider staying here again if I visit Nagoya.

Haha, turns out there are two VIA INN hotels at Nagoya Station! I went to the wrong one at first and couldn't find my booking. The staff kindly directed me to the correct one, and I was able to check in smoothly. I booked two rooms, and they gave us connecting rooms, which was great! The hotel's location is excellent, with many anime/manga stores nearby, like Animate, Suruga-ya, Lashinbang, and K-Books. It's a smooth and enjoyable walk from the station. The hotel is also just a few minutes' walk from the Nagoya Shinkansen, which is super convenient for catching the bullet train. The rooms are typical Japanese style – clean, quiet, and tidy, just what you need. What really surprised me was the breakfast; it was incredibly diverse! All sorts of side dishes, bread, rice, soup, and fruits, all delicious. I especially want to praise the bread; I loved both the toast and the croissants. Next time I'm in Nagoya, I'll definitely choose this place again.

This is a relatively new hotel in Nagoya, having opened in the last year of the '3-year period' (likely referring to the pandemic years). It's positioned as a five-star hotel right at the threshold of the Marriott brand, so all its facilities are good, but not luxurious. The hotel staff's English is excellent, and they proactively speak it, which is very convenient – typical of an American chain. I don't know the size of the standard rooms, but the pictures suggest they aren't very large. However, the suite design is incredibly well-thought-out. It's very considerate and convenient for living, both in terms of privacy and usability. The suite is spacious, the internet is good, and it's very clean. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable, and the corner sofa is very practical. Having two bathrooms is just perfect.
