"We stayed in room 1812 for a night. The room was bigger than the standard Japanese hotel rooms and the view was breathtaking. The bath house is a must try for all travellers especially the outdoor/rooftop bath. Robes are provided and allowed to be worn in the outdoor bath only. Basic amenities are provided at the lobby. There is a department store next to the hotel and a supermarket right at the train station. I highly recommend this hotel :)"

"The hotel staff were very nice, and the environment was truly beautiful. We came on a road trip in August, and although it was very hot, it wasn't too hot on the mountain. The place was spacious, and the indoor hot spring was excellent. The kids loved it too, and we will definitely stay here again next time."

"The rooftop view is truly beautiful~ It's a shame I didn't come up at night, otherwise it would have been absolutely stunning. The room was comfortable and spacious. The best part is the excellent soundproofing! "This is genuinely the ryokan of a lifetime! The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The kaiseki dinner was an unbelievably moving experience, showcasing the ultimate in delicate perfection and meticulous artistry. The hot springs were pristine, leaving my body feeling utterly serene and rejuvenated. I'm already planning to return this winter! It's a ryokan that's worth every single penny – truly a once-in-a-lifetime stay."

"I chose this ryokan for my first trip with my parents, which I paid for myself. And I think choosing this ryokan was an excellent decision. First off, all the staff members were incredibly kind. They explained every service available at the ryokan one by one, and even though my Japanese pronunciation and other things were probably lacking, they listened patiently until the end. If I asked them to repeat something, they would. They were so kind that it made me vow to be even more polite in return. While I didn't do much at the ryokan, here are a few things worth mentioning: > We did not use a room with a private hot spring bath. 1. **Hot Springs (Onsen)** The hot springs are divided into women's baths, men's baths, and family baths. You can use the family baths without a reservation; just go in. It was written that you only need to leave a sign indicating it's occupied. 2. **Adding Breakfast** You can request breakfast at check-in. They'll ask for your desired date and time (from 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 8:30 AM), explain the price, ask how many people it's for, and if there are any allergies to be careful of. Then, at your reserved time, you'll go to the designated area, and they'll guide you to the breakfast dining area. Breakfast cost 3,300 yen per person. * *After breakfast, which was a delicious kaiseki meal, they hand you a phone and tell you to call them if you want coffee and dessert.* 3. **Taxi Reservation to Yufuin Station** Since we had to go to Yufuin Station early in the morning, I asked at check-in if a taxi reservation was possible. They said they would arrange it if I just told them the desired time, and thanks to them, we had a smooth ride. This service is free of charge. * *However, you need to go to the parking lot to meet the driver and get in.* 4. **Cleaning Time** After breakfast, the staff member who guided us asked what time would be best for room cleaning. I told them my preferred time. This ryokan created so many wonderful memories that I truly believe Yufuin is only worth visiting for this place, if only you have the money and time. Its location is also excellent, right in front of Floral Village and Yuno-Tsubo Street, offering plenty to see. The walk to Yufuin Station is about 1.1km but not boring at all. I wholeheartedly recommend this place! 👍👍👍👍👍"

"Our short trip was wonderful! From the private onsen soaks, the tranquil views, the delectable food (black truffle shavings done table side was quite the treat!), and the extremely attentive staff, we couldn’t ask for more. I will say the location is rather remote but that is what we wanted - no distractions. We would stay here again without hesitation. PS: do the 5 course wine pairing with dinner - it’s worth it."

"This beautiful Ryokan is over 100 years old with deep heritage. I like that it stay as it is as if time stood still. So full of character. I was drawn to the onsens featuring beautiful outdoor views. You'll get to enjoy indoor and outdoor onsens here.. You get to try different types of onsens as they switch around. The highlight was the mountain view, the tranquility that some accommodation lacks due to the amount of guests. Here, you see mostly adults, hence irs ideal for people looking for a quieter retreat. Finally I was absolutely blown away by the wagyu beef at each dinner buffet. The Oita beef was of good quality and there was crab legs and so many variety of seafood and Oita specialty. Breakfast did not disappoint. Love the Yufuin milk and the pudding. Service staff was very attentive too. Ideally for non driving travellers. A short walk to the station and kinrin river."

"The feeling of home We did not book dinner and after doing research chose to eat at Golden Lake Breakfast was OK but also grateful to make the right choice not to be there for dinner Because the food is more Japanese if you want to eat traditional Japanese cuisine there may be a gap Between ancient Japanese style and new style hotel design chose this design sense hotel purely because I personally do not like to sleep tatami ground floor The room space is very large comfortable courtyard and bathroom are done enough privacy Overall feeling is very good will stay again next time Self-drive tour in my land so distance is not an issue The hotel also has a free shuttle service"

"We stayed at this hotel in Beppu this time and I highly recommend it! The beds in the room were quite large; although it said 0.8m for a random room, it was actually 1.1m, which was great. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. You need a password to enter the women's onsen, but not for the men's. If there are a lot of people, you might have to wait for the private onsen. We arrived on a Sunday, so it wasn't too crowded, and the experience was fantastic! After soaking in the onsen, there are free cold drinks you can help yourself to, and at 10 PM, there are free noodles in the lobby on the first floor. This hotel seems to have a lot of Korean guests, and the front desk staff were very friendly. I'd definitely come back if I get the chance!"

"This onsen hotel exceeded my expectations – it was truly excellent! First off, every room has its own private onsen, offering complete privacy, so you can enjoy a hot spring bath anytime you like! The hotel environment is beautiful, perfect for taking photos. We were lucky enough to encounter snow, which was the icing on the cake! What's more, the room was fully equipped and impeccably clean! Since we visited in winter, it was incredibly thoughtful that there were heaters everywhere, even in the bathroom. We booked the 'one night, two meals' package, and the food was delicious! The dishes were very unique, and you could really feel the restaurant's dedication. Extremely satisfied! The staff were excellent – friendly and approachable, making me feel right at home. Regarding transportation, we originally planned to drive, but canceled our car rental due to the weather. We took the train to Yufu Eki, pre-booked the shuttle with the hotel, and arrived in about 10 minutes! Overall, this is a highly recommended gem of a hotel! I'll definitely be back!"
