"The hotel is located on a mountain. In late April, the cherry blossoms at the foot of the mountain were in full bloom, but there was still some snow around the hotel. Lake Tazawa in spring, especially on a sunny day, is absolutely stunning; the water is a deep blue, just like the sea. We had great weather during our stay. Every morning after breakfast, we'd take the hotel's shuttle bus to Tazawa-ko Station to catch the Komachi Shinkansen to Kakunodate, Akita, and Morioka to see the cherry blossoms. In the afternoons, we'd take the Shinkansen back to Tazawa-ko Station, then the shuttle back to the hotel for dinner and a hot spring bath. The hotel service was excellent, and considering the price, the food was quite good too!"

"We stayed for three nights, including breakfast and dinner, and it definitely lived up to the hype for its food and scenery. While the hotel facilities are pretty standard, the environment is absolutely exceptional. It's only tens of meters from Lake Towada, surrounded by lush green spaces, big trees, and the lake itself – the beauty from this distance is captivating. Both meals and the shuttle bus need to be booked in advance. The schedule was: 7:30 AM breakfast, 9:30 AM departure, 4:00 PM return, 5:00 PM dinner, 6:30 PM evening walk, 8:30 PM hot springs, and 10:30 PM deep sleep. Day one poured rain, day two was spent in Yasumiya, taking a boat cruise, and visiting Towada Shrine. Day three was a 10km hike along the Oirase Stream followed by a final goodbye to Yasumiya. Day four was departure. A perfect experience overall! If I had to point out one minor drawback, it would be that the hotel service felt a bit cold. I understood not having our room cleaned on the first day, but not having it cleaned at all for three days felt a little odd. Also, for a stay that included breakfast and dinner, drinks at dinner on the third night were charged separately. It wasn't expensive, but no explanation was given. No 'do not disturb' sign was hung on the door, yet no cleaning. Drinks were offered with dinner on the first two nights, but not on the third. The hotel's onsen only has one large outdoor pool, and it's quite hot – it felt like half water, half fire, which was very enjoyable."

"A nice hotel. We drove there and parked the car in the hotel car park which is a mechanical car park. Just make sure you’re prepared to quickly remove the luggage you need before the car is stored away for the night. Parking at the nearby car park at ground level would have been about the same price and probably more convenient for us, our fault for not researching properly. The staff were very pleasant. The hotel is fairly close to the central park and not that far from the train station. There’s a 7 Eleven down the stairs of the hotel."

"The location was fantastic, connected directly to the station, bus interchange and shopping malls. The room was probably the biggest I have stayed at in Japan, which was great when sharing with a friend. The tatami sitting area was great to sit in and enjoy the station view, with the trains coming and going. Was not disturbed by any train noise however. They also gave a sheet noting the times you can view specific train models from your room window. Staff were friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier. Would stay here again next time I'm in Akita."

"From Tazawa Lake Station transfer bus, the hotel is near the bus station, less than three minutes walk, nearby also bike rental, you can cycle along Tazawa Lake for a week, you can also take a bus to the nearby pizza shop, we booked a two-stay, very exquisite and delicious food, and private bath available for reservation"

"The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Odate City, surrounded by numerous restaurants and shopping areas. We drove ourselves, and free parking was provided. The onsen facilities were adequate. While breakfast and dinner were not served, complimentary ramen and rice were available in the evenings. The staff were also very friendly and polite. It's a hotel I would recommend to friends."

"The hotel has a very good location. Although not immediately next to the JR station, it's a short and easy walk to get to the hotel from Akita Station. When you see the Museum of Art in the photo, you are arriving. Also, the famous Senshū Park is just across from the street. It's a grand hotel with nice rooms. The staff are friendly and professional. It's not far from the bar district. There are many interesting bars over there. After a couple of drinks, you can just walk back to the hotel."

"They offer children's toys for rent, which is a very thoughtful touch. You can see snow hangings and the snowmen they lovingly made. This place must often host tour groups; compared to the Kamenoi Hotel, it seemed quite crowded. Dinner was Japanese-style, not as relaxed as a buffet. The chef's attitude towards the complimentary dandan noodles in the evening seemed a bit tired."

"Service: The service was impeccable. We booked a one-night stay with two meals, and the hotel staff were already waiting for us at the station to pick us up. Because we arrived late, they even held our dinner reservation for us! Our train was cancelled the next day, and the hotel staff patiently explained how to take the bus and provided a timetable. They even drove us to the bus station – the service was excellent, and all of this was free! Cleanliness: Very clean. Environment: The hotel is next to a beautiful, pristine forest! The hot spring environment and water quality are top-notch, perfect for honeymooning couples! The tap water is drinkable and tastes incredibly sweet! Service: The service was the best I've ever experienced at a hotel."
