"The overall feeling is not bad. It feels like Chinese companies are investing in construction, but the clerks are all Japanese. Originally, I couldn't find the hotel when I was traveling, and I saw it from a distance. There are not many comments on the Internet, so I sent more points for some reference. I thought it was still a separate room + public bathroom like a youth hostel. After arriving, I found out that it was actually a separate bathroom. The room is very spacious for one person, and two people are a bit reluctant. The mattress on the tatami is relatively small. If you make two mattresses, you can barely open two suitcases. It is a bit far from Kyoto Station, but it is convenient to have a bus. It takes 5 minutes to walk from the hotel to the bus station. There is a bus before 10 o'clock in the evening, but it is not convenient to return to the hotel in the middle of the night. It is basically no problem to control the itinerary. Service is very good, there is free breakfast. There is also a free shuttle service from Kyoto Hajo Station, which needs to be reserved in advance and the front desk."

"This is a hot spring hotel, and hotels in Kyoto are generally quite expensive. However, this hot spring hotel wasn't significantly pricier than others, so it felt like a pretty good deal. All the hot spring rooms are traditional tatami style. Downstairs, there are several hot spring baths to choose from. They also offer ramen and all-you-can-drink after 10 PM, as well as a buffet breakfast the next morning. After a bath, there are automatic massage chairs in the hallway. I used them several times. It felt like I got a full massage after my bath, saving me the cost of a separate massage. I felt completely rejuvenated!"

"This hotel is an absolute gem. Its location is unparalleled, right in the very heart of Gion and just steps from the famous ”geisha corner.” You are not just staying in Kyoto; you are immersed in its most iconic and historic district. The true magic of this place is how it captures the essence of geisha culture. It’s not just a theme; it’s an atmosphere of refined elegance that permeates every corner. The experience is so authentic and immersive, it feels like stepping directly into the world of ”Memoirs of a Geisha.” The rooms and common areas are impeccably maintained with a level of opulent tidiness that truly reflects the film's aesthetic. It’s pristine, tranquil, and deeply elegant. While the stay focuses on the cultural experience, the offered small breakfast is a perfect, delicate start to the day. For anyone seeking an authentic, elegant, and perfectly located base to explore the world of Gion, this hotel is a dream come true. A truly magnificent find."

"The room was quite spacious, big enough to accommodate large luggage. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, and a Sukiya nearby which is pretty good, similar to Yoshinoya. It's close to the subway station, but unfortunately, the nearest exit doesn't have an escalator. If you have luggage, you'll need to use another exit, which is a bit further and requires crossing the street. I specifically chose this hotel because I thought it was very close to the Kyoto Gion Festival route, making it convenient to just go downstairs to watch. It truly was very close, and near the festival's endpoint, so it was perfect for catching the midday events."

"This recently renovated onsen hotel is highly recommended! The rooms are well-equipped and comfortable, with a traditional Japanese style. The hotel features a public bathhouse and five private onsen, which is a great bonus. They also offer a complimentary drink bar in the afternoon, showing their dedication to excellent service. It's very close to both the subway and bus stations, making it an ideal choice for visiting Arashiyama, especially if you have a lot of luggage. I imagine it'll be quite difficult to book a room during autumn foliage season!"

"Excellent value for money, perfect for travelers arriving in Kyoto at night! It's within walking distance from Kyoto Station, and I was really satisfied with the value for money during my two-night weekend stay. The lobby has a great hot drink bar (I recommend the matcha latte!) and Korean guidebooks, which made for a very comfortable stay. I'd definitely visit again!"

KYOTO TOKYU HOTEL

This is a venerable super five-star hotel with an excellent location, though it's a bit out of the city center, making it quite inconvenient for getting to sights, attractions, and dining. However, the hotel shuttle bus to Kyoto Station is a lifesaver. The hotel was renovated a few years ago, but it still retains its 40+ years of history and luxurious decor, now blended with modern, clean design elements. Charging facilities and hygiene are excellent. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for a family trip over Children's Day in May. Banyan Tree is such a renowned brand even in Korea, so I had high expectations when I booked our stay. However, we were hoping for a mountain view, but instead, we got a cemetery view – and on a dark, rainy night, it was quite enough to give us nightmares. If you're looking for a relaxing experience, like soaking in a Japanese cypress (hinoki) bathtub, you'll be satisfied, but I have to say the view was extremely disappointing. On the positive side, the Japanese tatami room vibe was very pleasing, and the aroma oil program at the spa was really interesting.

Kyoto Global Hotel Karasuma definitely has its pros and cons. To be honest, the cleanliness in the guest rooms could use some improvement; the dust in the corners and hair in the bathroom are a bit off-putting. However, beyond that, the value for money is absolutely incredible. The breakfast is a hearty Japanese set meal, and for dinner, you get to choose between a rice or noodle set. All this for a 200-yen room rate, including two meals – I don't know any other place that can beat that! The most impressive part is the large communal bathhouse with a sauna. Soaking in the hot water, which feels just like a natural hot spring, instantly melts away all your travel fatigue. The location is also fantastic; the Karasuma line is just a two- or three-minute walk away, making it convenient to get to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Arashiyama. If you don't mind a few minor cleanliness issues, this is absolutely the king of value in Kyoto. I'll definitely choose it again next time I'm in town – because a good soak, a full meal, and a good night's sleep are the truest joys of travel.

Exceptional Stay in Kyoto for the Whole Family! We had an outstanding stay at Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto during our family trip. The location is ideal—situated in a quiet neighborhood yet only a short walk from Shijo and Karasuma stations, making it effortless to explore the city's top attractions. Unlike many typical, compact Japanese hotel rooms, the accommodation here was remarkably spacious, exceptionally clean, and comfortable, giving our family plenty of room to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The amenities were top-notch, and the beds guaranteed a restful night's sleep. What truly elevated our experience was the hospitality. The staff demonstrated true Japanese Omotenashi—always polite, attentive, and eager to assist with directions and luggage. The breakfast buffet was another highlight, offering a delicious variety of both authentic Japanese dishes and Western options. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base in Kyoto and would highly recommend it to any family or group visiting the city!

Our stay here was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's environment is beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable, and all the staff were incredibly warm and polite. The overall atmosphere was very relaxing, and the attention to detail made us feel right at home. The hot springs and the hotel's scenery, in particular, are definitely worth experiencing; it was such a blessing to be able to truly relax here during our busy trip. My family thoroughly enjoyed this stay, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely choose to stay here again if we're in the area in the future. Highly recommended!

Nestled along the Kamo River's Sanjo area, this modern hotel beautifully blends contemporary design with traditional Japanese aesthetics. I highly recommend the Kamo River rooms! The riverside rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offer direct views of the flowing river, and the sunrise and sunset scenery is truly therapeutic. Inside, there's a public hot spring bath with all the toiletries you need, including skincare samples. The guest rooms feature separate wet and dry areas, and the bathroom fittings are thoughtfully chosen, making for an incredibly comfortable stay. The location is fantastic. It's just a two-minute walk to Sanjo subway station, making it incredibly convenient to get to Kawaramachi and Nishiki Market. The self-service breakfast offers a good mix of Japanese set meals and Western dishes. After exploring Kyoto's streets, it's wonderful to return to the hotel for a relaxing soak in the hot spring. This is an outstanding choice for a hotel in the city center, offering excellent overall quality. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Kyoto. It was a truly delightful four-day stay!

Good hotel to stay in. It's located just above the main Kyoto train. It's also just across the road to the Kyoto Tower, one of the famous attractions. The hotel is clean, quite spacious with 2 single beds and some extra space. Facilities are Good and complete toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap, shampoo, etc. Bed is comfortable and can sleep well. Breakfast food are labelled clearly as vegan, vegetarian, etc. There're lots of shops and eateries too around the hotel area. I would stay here again whenever I'm visiting Kyoto.

This is a hot spring hotel, and hotels in Kyoto are generally quite expensive. I felt completely rejuvenated!
