"Came here to relax with the natural hot spring that Toyama is famous for. The waters here are dark brown like soya sauce. The public bath has several baths including one that is outdoor. There are ample lockers, dressing tables and shower berths. The laundry room is inside the public bath area. They are separate machines from the dryer. While the washing machines are free, it costs money to use the dryer. The shower cubicle in the hotel room has no shower rail to hang laundry to dry. The double bed room has a private cypress wood bath tub. It felt good to soak in onsen water in the morning before breakfast. It’s deep enough for someone tall to sit in. A short walk away is the tram stop. A free tram ride coupon can be obtained from the front desk for international tourists."

If guests speak loudly in the corridor late at night or early in the morning, you can hear it quite clearly."

"I chose to stay at a hotel in Toyama because I was eager to see the city with its snow-capped mountains. This was my first time staying at a Nikko Hotel. The service was standardized, and I didn't feel much warmth, which also reflects my overall impression of Toyama – it has the cool, stark feeling of a northern city. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but the taste was decent. You have to proactively ask the front desk for the complimentary tram pass."

"Five-star rating all around! I was a bit worried the 2019 renovation might feel old, but it absolutely doesn't – everything feels very new. They offer a pick-up service from the train station, or it's just a 300m walk. Inside the hotel, there are English-speaking staff, making communication a breeze. The buffet dinner was also good. There aren't many dining options on the hot spring street; besides one BBQ place, it's mostly set menus and ramen, so the hotel buffet is a better choice. For lunch, I recommend the cafe by the entrance; both the cakes and drinks were delicious. Since we visited in winter, we didn't book the scenic train, but we did go to the ski resort, which was perfect for kids. The foot bath next to the train station was super hot and incredibly relaxing. This is a great place to stay for two nights."

"Fantastic location, right next to the JR station, above the fifth floor of a shopping mall. The room was spacious, clean, and tidy, with great service. The breakfast was also excellent, with delicious sushi, glowing squid, and soba noodles – all my favorites! We stayed for two nights and even got to see the snow-capped mountains from the top floor."

"The location is a bit out of the way, but it wasn't a problem since we were driving. Although it's an older-style inn, it was clean and tidy. There were also quite a few locals staying there. "Stayed in a standard twin room for 2 nights. The room is slightly too warm as it operates on a central heating system. The rest of the hotel facilities are excellent. The staff are warm and friendly. If you do not want to have your room made up, they reward you with 2 QR codes which you can use at the vending machine behind the front desk. We chose this hotel as it was a street across the Shirakawago express bus stop operated by the Toyama Chitetsu Bus company. It was really convenient for us to use it to explore Toyama as well as take a day trip to Shirakawago."

"Due to a booking error made by the agent, my check-in experience was terrible. I spent the entire night communicating with Ctrip (the booking platform), and while it was eventually resolved, I was still disappointed that I didn't get the room I wanted. The hotel is right next to Toyama Castle, and you might get lucky and see the Tateyama Mountain Range from the side. There's a convenience store and a tram station across the street, which is generally good. However, the room itself was very basic, and the service wasn't particularly warm. Overall, the experience was just average. A small surprise was the mochi pounding and sake offering on New Year's Day morning."

"The accommodation isn't far from the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route (about 30 minutes away) and is quite affordable. The room is larger than typical Japanese rooms, newly built, modern, and free from any musty smells. Free parking is available right outside the room. The soundproofing in the room is excellent; I couldn't hear anyone else. There's a mountain view in the background. Check-in with the staff was smooth and the service was good. I received a coupon for a free frozen meal. The room has a microwave, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a kettle, a hairdryer, an air purifier, a lamp, and WiFi. In the common area, there's a coin-operated water dispenser and a washing machine. Across the street is a gas station, and diagonally opposite is a 24-hour MaxValue convenience store where many items are much cheaper (e.g., mineral water for less than 100 yen)."

The location is a bit out of the way, but it wasn't a problem since we were driving. Although it's an older-style inn, it was clean and tidy. There were also quite a few locals staying there. I had a truly memorable stay at this hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly attentive and kind throughout my visit. The overall atmosphere gave off a wonderfully authentic Japanese vibe, which made the experience even more special. One of the highlights was the delicious traditional Japanese breakfast — beautifully prepared and full of flavor. What impressed me most was how the hotel made me feel so comfortable and welcome, almost like I was staying at a relative’s home in Japan. It’s a place I would wholeheartedly recommend, and I would love to return again in the future.

I spent the entire night communicating with Ctrip (the booking platform), and while it was eventually resolved, I was still disappointed that I didn't get the room I wanted. The hotel is right next to Toyama Castle, and you might get lucky and see the Tateyama Mountain Range from the side. There's a convenience store and a tram station across the street, which is generally good. However, the room itself was very basic, and the service wasn't particularly warm. Overall, the experience was just average. A small surprise was the mochi pounding and sake offering on New Year's Day morning.

A magical traditional Japanese inn. You have to wear slippers when entering the inn. The elderly are very enthusiastic and the whole village is very welcoming. I haven't experienced that kind of simplicity for a long time. There are singing and dancing performances, very delicious Sichuan fish, and a call to eat breakfast early. It feels like home.

The hotel is really close to the station, right between the North and South exits. When you come out, head right towards the M shopping mall. Walk a few steps along the side of the mall, and you'll find the hotel diagonally opposite the Toyota car rental. The staff were all very friendly, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was quite generous, and there's a 24-hour drink bar. The hot water for the coffee machine is at the very bottom, indicated by a red button. Just across the street, in the mall, there's that delicious sushi restaurant with self-service ordering – it's fresh and tasty!
