"It's about a ten-minute drive from Izu Kogen Station. The hotel is quite large, divided into several areas, ranging from luxury to economy. We booked a Japanese-style suite in the main building with a great view. The hotel has many free facilities that you can check on the map and experience one by one. The hot spring facility next door has an open-air bath. Soaking in the hot springs by the moonlit sea at night was very relaxing, with the constant sound of the waves. The breakfast included sashimi and various snacks, which was quite rich, but the selection was almost identical for two consecutive days. I'm giving three stars for service, specifically for the front desk. This hotel has quite a few Indian staff members. So why only three stars? The 5th, 6th, and 7th floors of the hotel all have scenic ocean view rooms, but Chinese guests are always assigned to the 5th floor or rooms near the elevator. Having stayed at many hotels, I can sense the subtle discrimination and differential treatment here. If the price booked through Ctrip is lower than what Japanese tourists pay, then disregard my comment. Finally, this hotel is very family-friendly, perfect for those with children. If you prefer quiet, a hotel of this size won't be quiet at all; you should choose a smaller onsen ryokan instead."

"This was definitely my favorite hotel on this Izu trip! The value for money was exceptional, the views were great, and both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared. I saw some average reviews, but I actually found it to be quite good. My only minor complaint would be the limited shuttle service. In the morning, there are only shuttles at 9:20, 9:50, and a bit after 10:00. I arrived at 11:00 and had to make my own way to the hotel, which was a bit far, but the walk wasn't difficult and was actually quite pleasant. For your second day, I'd highly recommend catching the 9:20 shuttle to make the 9:37 Black Ship cruise to Shimoda!"

"An exceptional hotel with superb value for money and an excellent stay experience! 👍 First off, the staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly. The room was spacious, and I loved the dimly lit lounge area before entering both the indoor and outdoor hot springs. Plus, the hotel boasts a pool with lake views! 👍 The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety, and as a vegetarian, I found plenty of delicious options. The Vegetarian Lasagna was particularly good! To top it off, the hotel lobby on the ground floor even offered complimentary drinks and snacks for three hours during certain periods – what a pleasant surprise! More importantly, the hotel is located on the shores of Lake Hamana in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. It's a peaceful retreat away from the city's hustle and bustle. As someone who enjoys morning runs, the lakeside trail was perfect for jogging. The serene and beautiful lake views in the morning, coupled with the fresh air, made it an ideal place to relax and rejuvenate. 👍 I definitely plan on staying here for a few days every year! 🌹🌹🌹 Thank you, Trip.com, for helping me discover this wonderful hotel!"

"Even though I wasn't quite used to the traditional Japanese-style room, I have to give a huge thumbs up to all the staff at this hotel! During my two-day stay, every staff member I encountered was smiling and enthusiastic. Even the older staff, despite some not being fluent in English, put in their utmost effort to communicate and provide service! (Personally, I think it's normal for older staff not to be fluent in English. Communicating with a translator is perfectly fine. Focusing on problem-solving, mutual understanding, and respect, both sides will feel the sincerity.) On the day of checkout, I had to catch the 8:03 AM express train to Narita Airport, so time was extremely tight. Given that the hotel shuttle bus started at 8:20 AM and taxis in Inatori only began operating at 8:00 AM, I asked the front desk for help. One staff member proactively offered to drive me to the station at 7:45 AM and even helped me carry my huge suitcase down to the Inatori train station, which doesn't have an elevator! I was incredibly touched! Also, during my stay, I didn't experience any discrimination against Chinese guests or the situation where all Chinese guests were intentionally arranged on the third floor. I stayed on the third floor and occasionally noticed that the two rooms next to mine were occupied by elderly Japanese couples. And every staff member was incredibly warm and friendly! The hot springs were very relaxing. And the ocean view was absolutely stunning!!"

"We booked the largest room type, but I think the sea view might actually be better in the standard rooms, as our room was located right on the far side. The lobster was pretty mediocre, so I wouldn't recommend booking the set meal. However, the breakfast and dinner buffets were quite good. I'd suggest going to the hot springs around 9 AM after breakfast; you'll practically have the place to yourself as it closes at 10 AM and doesn't reopen until the afternoon."

"During my two-week trip in Japan, this was unfortunately the worst hotel I stayed at. First of all, the price is not cheap, but the level of service does not match the cost. When I arrived at the parking area, there were many empty parking spaces available, yet I was not allowed to use them and had to park in a charging station space instead, which was confusing and inconvenient. The hotel lobby looks luxurious and impressive, but the guest rooms are extremely outdated and feel like they have not been renovated since the 1980s. The bathroom sink was unusually low, and I had to bend down every time I washed my face or brushed my teeth, which became quite uncomfortable. The only real advantage of this hotel is the view, which is indeed beautiful. However, at this price point, there are many better options available. Another thing that I found very unpleasant was the loudspeaker announcement reminding guests to check out. I personally felt this was quite impolite. If the hotel needs to remind guests about check-out, calling the room telephone would be much more appropriate. The loudspeaker announcement felt more like being told to leave immediately rather than being treated as a guest. I also believe the hot spring tax should be clearly explained during check-in, especially if it must be paid regardless of whether guests use the bath facilities. Being informed only at check-out was disappointing and caused unnecessary confusion. In addition, the English communication at the front desk was very limited. Unfortunately, I had difficulty understanding what the staff were trying to explain, which made the experience even more frustrating as an international traveler. Overall, despite the beautiful view, the outdated facilities, communication issues, and service experience did not justify the price. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel."

"This stay was great! The room was clean and tidy, and the space was more comfortable than I expected. The location is convenient, with plenty of food options nearby, and transportation is very accessible. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance."

"I had a wonderful stay at Kurofune Hotel. The hotel was peaceful and relaxing, and the staff provided exceptional service throughout our visit. Our room was clean, comfortable, and featured a private onsen with breathtaking ocean views. I also enjoyed the public baths and sauna, which were well maintained and very relaxing. The traditional Japanese meals were delicious, making our stay even more memorable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting again."

"Located in a small onsen town, not much shop and restaurant within walking distance while the restaurants and supermarket are easy to access by car within 15min. The hotel itself is a bit aged while it is under upgrading and maintained clean and service standard. A free shuttle is provided to the public onsen in the main branch hotel 5 min drive away. The public onsen is very good with multiple bath pools and an outdoor pool. The place is a good base for us to explore the west and central Izu. Given the price in the area, very value for money and highly recommended."

"The hotel's location is unbeatable, with a shuttle bus service to and from Atami Station, which you can see right after exiting the Shinkansen, making it very convenient. The hotel is said to have opened in 1973, perched on a cliff. Japan already had 'pit hotels' back in the 70s! The front desk is on the 17th floor, and the shuttle drops you off there. To get to your room, you have to go down. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. This hotel offers incredible photo opportunities, with stunning views from every window."
