"Checked in for a one-night stay on October 9th. The starry sky that night was absolutely breathtaking and totally worth the room rate! The butler reached out a day in advance and sent over the schedule of activities. Compared to the No. 7 Starry Sky and S Tent where we stayed the previous two days, Tengol is a huge step up—it has a real resort vibe, and the professional photography here yields incredible, highly photogenic shots. The room is very spacious with a huge bed, and the first round of drinks in the minibar is complimentary. The complimentary off-road vehicle ride offers scenery just as stunning as the one inside Shapotou, saving us from the crowded tourist zones over there. The evening show was heartfelt and well worth watching; the camel ride, horses, molten iron fireworks (da tie hua), and folk songs were all fantastic. Getting to watch them up close felt like having VIP seats. The stargazing session took place right outdoors under the night sky, which was an amazing experience. The instructor was great, and we even got to see Saturn's rings through the telescope! Plus, some generous guests set off fireworks for us to enjoy every now and then, haha. There are also optional professional photoshoot packages available, which are an absolute must for souvenirs! Breakfast was also miles ahead of the previous two places—both exquisite and delicious. Finally, our butler arranged a car to take us to the airport. A perfect single-night stay—I will definitely come back for a second visit!"

"When checking in, the staff member Monica was incredibly efficient and friendly. She even went out of her way to recommend some fun places to visit nearby. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was so soft and comfortable, it felt like being wrapped in a cloud. The bathroom facilities were also new, and the toiletries were of good quality. I really enjoyed the tea bags in the room; they had a lovely sweet flavor, and having a huge bathtub was a definite plus!"

"The hotel design is unique and the views are good. However, dining options are limited. The Chinese restaurant's prices are comparable to mid-to-high-end restaurants in Shanghai, so we opted to drive 20 minutes to Zhenbeibao for dinner. The breakfast restaurant was the most disappointing. First, there weren't many options. During the National Day holiday, with a large number of guests, the service couldn't keep up at all. When we asked a waiter to clear a table left by previous guests, the waiter started clearing and then just walked away halfway through. After waiting for a long time, we called another one over. The first one claimed they thought we were still eating, so they just did a quick tidy-up and left. The most frustrating part was the staff at the noodle station, especially a female manager. Her attitude towards guests was very poor; she was extremely impatient with their questions, and several guests, including myself, were spoken to rudely. I understand that during National Day, there are a lot of people and the staff work hard, but basic politeness and a good attitude should always be maintained. In conclusion, as the most luxurious hotel in the area, even during off-peak seasons, the prices are similar to high-end hotels in big cities. Such service truly doesn't match the hotel's caliber."

Seeing Zhongwei's sights from this hotel is easy with Shapotou Tourist Scenic Area Time-Space Gate, Shapotou Starlit Sky Snow Park and Shapotou Desert Legend all close by. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. This Zhongwei hotel features parking on site. Guests tell us the location of this hotel is fantastic. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"The hotel offers a shuttle service from the Time and Space Gate, which was excellent. Three days before arrival, staff proactively called and added me on WeChat to check for any needs. The hotel itself is incredibly fun, mostly catering to families with children. There are various activities from morning to night, perfect for kids. The room was a bit old and small, but the outstanding service more than made up for it. Stepping outside, you're right in the desert. You can enjoy a sunrise or sunset over the desert from your balcony with a cup of tea. Each room comes with sand-digging toys and unlimited sandboards for sand-sliding. Inside the room, there's a generous supply of fruit, various drinks, yogurt, biscuits, and nuts. The food is also great, with breakfast, dinner, and even a late-night snack provided – so much so that I couldn't finish it all. I'd recommend skipping lunch, otherwise, you'll be eating too much in one day! The pool is unheated; I was the only one brave enough to swim in it (it's a semi-standard size). Make sure to visit the Stargazing Valley at night; I saw a sky full of stars like I've never seen before."

"Traveling by car, I wasn't quite sure about the hotel's parking garage rules. After parking, I went to the front desk to inquire. Geng Wei patiently and thoroughly explained the entrance and exit locations and also informed me about peak parking times. The room had good natural light, and the mattress was comfortable, allowing me to relax well after a day of driving. I'm very satisfied."

"It's convenient to park if you're driving here, making it perfect for an overnight stop. The tent was nice and cool at night, and the shared bathrooms were spotless, with individual stalls so you never had to queue. All the disposable toiletries were provided. During the day, we had a blast dune bashing and sandboarding. In the evening, the bonfire and fireworks created a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were really enthusiastic and even recommended some lesser-known spots for photos in the dunes. This desert getaway offers excellent value for money."

"This stay truly exceeded my expectations! It's a beautiful vineyard estate with lush greenery, offering a tranquil and cozy environment. You can cycle and stroll around the grounds, visit the winery, and the atmosphere is simply wonderful. What I'm most incredibly grateful for is that around 10 PM on the night of our check-in, I suddenly felt unwell. However, my partner couldn't leave our young, sleeping child. In a moment of panic, one of the team members in the housekeeper chat proactively offered help. Even more remarkably, the manager immediately drove me to the hospital for treatment, accompanied me through all the examinations, and stayed with me until past midnight. I'm truly, incredibly grateful. The room was clean and comfortable, with thoughtful amenities. But most importantly, the staff here are genuinely warm and helpful. The manager extended a helping hand when a guest needed it most, acting like family even though we're not. It's truly difficult to encounter such an unexpected situation when traveling, but thankfully, the manager and housekeepers were so warm and helped me through it smoothly. As a guest, I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Helan Mountain. It was a truly warm and special accommodation experience. My sincere thanks again to everyone at Dayuezhiye, Helan Mountain. Thank you all, and I wish you all a smooth and increasingly better life!!"

"The hotel is located in the East Lake Grassland Resort within the Tengger Desert. Upon arriving at the resort's parking lot, the hotel's off-road vehicle transported us to the hotel situated in the desert. The hotel owner and the reception staff were very welcoming, and the bonfire party was excellent. Sandboarding and hiking in the desert were both a lot of fun. The hotel also had a fountain show in the evening. We booked a tent, and it was quite cold in the desert at night, but the beds had electric blankets and the quilts were very thick, so we didn't feel cold while sleeping. Make sure to zip up the tent completely at night, otherwise, cold air and mosquitoes will get in. The public restrooms and showers were spacious and clean. However, if you shower in the public bathroom and walk back to your tent in flip-flops, your feet will get covered in sand. I suggest the hotel owner place some benches at the entrance of the public bathrooms to allow guests to dry their feet before putting on sneakers to walk back to their tents. The hotel's restaurant offered good value for money, and the portion sizes were generous, making dinner very convenient. The breakfast had a good variety, and the beef buns and small dishes were delicious. The activities at the scenic area are all offered as package deals, and individual activities cannot be purchased separately. However, you can hike from the desert to the activity center to try your luck. I felt that the duration and distance of the activities were too short, so I didn't participate. Hiking in the desert was very interesting, and it wasn't hot in autumn. Walking along the tops of the sand dunes for several kilometers was a great way to experience the desert scenery."

"Came to the desert in April and had an absolutely amazing experience! All the activities were open and available, and the temperature was perfect – not too hot, not too cold. The Sand Dream Hotel was very clean, and the bedding was super comfortable, making for a really relaxing stay. The room facilities were brand new. What really stood out was the placement of the rooms: one side faced the desert sunset, and the other faced the sand sea. It truly offered unbeatable views, making it feel like you were living *within* the scenery, not just on its edge. This unique vantage point is something only this hotel in the entire scenic area offers. Plus, desert research and stargazing activities were included, and ordering food was quite affordable. The staff were always available when called, and their service attitude was very friendly. Next time I bring friends, I'll definitely stay at Sand Dream again."
