3 different types of onsen , amazing breakfast with huge selection of food, amazing spacious rooms with an amazing view of the river. Only spent 1 night here but would’ve easily stayed another if we had time. The building is well maintained and the onsen was so good I had 3 sessions even though we were only here for 1 night. An excellent place to stay, even if just overnight. The hotel was easy to get to, with the shuttle bus running on a tight schedule. The staff were very attentive, friendly, and welcoming without feeling overbearing and were easily able to meet all our needs. The hot springs were very accessible and very romantic, and excellent in the snow. The food was amazing, with the service again being excellent, and the complimentary ice cream was very yummy. Will be easily considering staying again should I return to Japan. 11/10.

Stayed at Comfort Hotel Maebashi for a short trip. The room was warm and cozy, though a bit small — similar to most hotels in Japan. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the toilet felt more spacious compared to other hotels. Overall, a comfortable stay with everything you need. Would definitely consider staying here again!

I booked the highly-rated Bouun Ryokan three months in advance, supposedly in business for 462 years! The interior decor and tatami rooms were surprisingly new. The room service, the dining environment for dinner, and the exquisite Kaiseki cuisine were all incredibly impressive. We stayed for two nights, with breakfast and dinner included. The hotel uses only the finest Japanese ingredients, and not a single dish or dessert was repeated. I especially want to commend the Japanese gentleman who picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station, and the young lady who helped us with our luggage on check-in day, January 5th. Both were exceptionally thoughtful. However, I must criticize a young male receptionist at the front desk – fair-skinned, round-faced, and wearing glasses. He didn't seem Japanese and was very impatient with guests. A high-end hotel like this shouldn't have such staff; it really detracts from the experience! Nevertheless, this won't stop me from staying here again on my next visit to Kusatsu.

It was a very pleasant and unusual experience. Hotel room, traditional. Staff is pleasant and attentive. We took a room with footons and included kaiseki dinner (it is a separate gastronomic adventure). Each room is attached to its personal small onsen, which is available at any time for the period of stay.

This hotel was so great! Its service, cleanliness, rooms etc, everything is about a comfort stay. It also has delicious breakfasts and onsen with 2 baths, one is outside — just what I was looking for.

It should be regarded as the best hotel in Yixiangbao. It has a history of more than 400 years, but it does not feel old. Several soups are great. The service staff are professional and thoughtful. The small robot in the lobby is super cute. There is a small restaurant on the 19th floor to the entrance and exit of the stone steps, three private rooms, open at 8-11 every night, fried dumplings and ramen are delicious. The people in this place are friendly and hospitable. Udon noodles are local specialties, and each one is delicious; the ancestral stone pot curry rice of the Black Boat House is particularly delicious; Sara's Terrace Arraiya 's package is very homely; Lungo's own roasted coffee is the best to drink, with a bunch of rice cakes is too fragrant! The matcha shop next to the ladder is already very popular, but the clerk is so enthusiastic. When I fell down, I immediately took the first aid kit and ran out to deal with the wound. I was moved! The nearby original gallery is also worth a visit, in a pasture with lots of sheep.

Due to my own mistake, I booked a smoking room, but they were able to change my reservation (from 3 nights to 1 night) and to a non-smoking room that was available on the day, which was very helpful (I have asthma). The facilities and service in the hotel were also impeccable, and I even enjoyed free ice cream after using the large public bath and a complimentary Yakult drink in the morning bath. This is a wonderful hotel that I would recommend to everyone.
