"The whole hotel system seems to be created with foreigners in mind. I stayed for 2 nights, while my family stayed for 3 nights. I originally booked the 2 nights through Trip.com. When I wanted to add an extra day, I was informed it was better to book it again online. At that time, I was in Nepal for 3 days and my phone was being repaired in Hong Kong, so I didn’t have access to my usual email or digital wallet. I had Nepali cash, but the payment system wouldn’t allow it, and I was denied the option to add more nights directly at the front desk. I tried booking again using my temporary phone, but the credit/card wouldn’t allow it—possibly because the phone and location were new and my digital wallet couldn’t be used. The only solution was asking a friend to book the additional night for me. This experience made me feel that the system is not friendly to Nepali guests and that they may strongly prefer online foreign-currency-style payment methods rather than Nepali rupees. I also tried to get the Nepali rate. It was around NPR 12,000–15,000, while the online rate was significantly cheaper. Based on the current currency conversion, the price difference felt like it could be about 3,000–5,000 rupees less online. This also made me feel they may not truly support Nepali pricing equally. The front desk staff were sometimes helpful, but they often didn’t seem genuine. Some staff seemed reluctant and not truly welcoming or happy to assist. In contrast, the only people who felt consistently happy to see me amd my family were the housekeeping staff and the guards. About the room it’s a bit small. I took a long warm shower, and after a while the water started leaking toward the bedroom corridor. However, there were also positives—despite being in Kathmandu, the tap had good water flow and the water color looked clear, not yellowish (and not as low-flow). Overall, the stay didn’t feel welcoming to me or my family. I’m not sure if this is because the system is designed not to cater well to Nepali guests, or simply because the staff attitude was “blah.” Would I stay again? It feels like 50–50. My honest advice is: if you’re not Nepali, you will love it. But if you are Nepali and want to feel genuinely welcomed, you should think carefully—because you could spend the same amount or much more less at a family-owned business and likely feel much more respected and welcomed."

"I recently stayed here in Kathmandu and had an excellent experience. The location was perfect—conveniently situated close to key attractions and amenities. The breakfast was wholesome and satisfying, offering a variety of options to start the day right. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable retreat after exploring the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a warm smile. The hot shower was a welcome luxury, adding to the overall comfort of the stay. "The hotel is very quiet. The air conditioning worked well, and the room temperature was comfortable. There were no gnats or mosquitoes. The plumbing fixtures were new. Thorough cleaning was provided promptly at the push of a button. In the courtyard, you can admire the beautiful landscape design. For breakfast, the restaurant offers Indian, Continental, or American options, and you can also order additional dishes. The interior of the restaurant is adorned with a large panel depicting a view of old Patan Square. Two bottles of water were provided in the room. Durbar Square is within walking distance. The staff is very polite and attentive. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant and comfortable stay in the center of Kathmandu."

"My stay at the Mulberry Hotel in Kathmandu was generally very pleasant, but I have one major complaint I'd like to mention. When we selected the hotel, it was stated that the airport transfer was free, which was one of the reasons we decided to stay there. However, despite having communicated our intention to use this service both when booking and three days before our arrival, we were informed that there was an additional charge for the transfer. Fortunately, we were able to resolve the issue through the website where we made the reservation, but I'm concerned that this information is still available on their site. If the hotel continues to advertise the airport transfer as free, either they're changing it or they're misleading customers, which is unacceptable. Also, to add a humorous twist to the situation: when we checked out of the hotel and took a taxi, it turned out the price was actually half of what we had paid for the hotel service! So if you decide to take a taxi, you can save a few dollars! On the other hand, the hotel facilities are good, and the rooms are fine. The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of Western and Indian-style options. The rooftop pool has great potential with beautiful views of the city, although it needs more attention and care due to the dust in the area. Overall, I would recommend the Mulberry Hotel for its good location and breakfast, but I suggest they clarify information about airport transfers to avoid future confusion. And don't hesitate to take a taxi to the airport to save some money!"

"This is the Himalyan Suites Hotel, where I always stay whenever I go to Kathmandu, Nepal. Especially, the friendly service of the front desk staff Milan and Sudip Rimal, and the kindness of the security guards made this trip a happy one."

"The rooms are this hotel are very nice. The location is perfect. The service levels are very high. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. In particular, Monika and Besang in the restaurant, Sita and Binita for the cleaning service, and all the security staff. Overall, our stay here was very good. The breakfast is very good, with a nice variety. If I could suggest some improvements, it would be fresh pastries for breakfast and maybe some alternatives to cows milk such as oat or almond milk. The other thing is, the gym needs a total refresh. I recommend staying here. It is a very good offer overall. Thank you for giving us a pleasant stay."

The wife fell ill on the day of entering, so she borrowed a thermometer at the front desk and asked if she needed medicine, including headache medicine and anti-fever medicine. When asking other questions, there are a total of 3 staff members, each of whom is patient to answer and help. However, the hot water pipe was broken that night and was being repaired. I left before I had time for breakfast. I don't know what happened. The first day in Kathmandu was very satisfied."

The restaurant staff were professional and meticulous, making every meal a pleasant experience. What particularly impressed me was that all staff members were dressed in neat and appropriate uniforms, showcasing the hotel's highly professional image. Every employee I encountered was polite, warm, friendly, and helpful, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for every guest. I must also give a special commendation to the hotel manager, whose outstanding leadership was evident in the high-quality service across all aspects of the hotel. The manager was approachable, professional, and genuinely cared about every guest, ensuring they had a pleasant and memorable stay. Jiuding Yueyue Hotel is clean, well-managed, and offers first-class service across all departments. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking comfort, high quality, and genuine hospitality. "One-way airport transfer from Kathmandu International Airport to the hotel. A garden hotel, close to Thamel and within walking distance. Convenient surroundings, breakfast included. Quiet and comfortable, with a rooftop gym."

"We booked Deluxe Room via Trip.com because it is mentioned as ”Mountain View” room. But in actual , there is no mountain view room in hotel and hotel did not aware about that information. (May be the gap between trip.com and hotel). Well , as for me, it is not hotel fault and i observed that almost all of the mid-range hotels in Nepal don't have Mountain view rooms. But , you can enjoy the mountain at the roof top of the hotel and it was very nice. Breakfast ,European style ,is quit ok for us. The hotel have separate restaurant and can order the food also. Since it is mid-range price hotel , don't expect for room cleaning and facilities. (For example , TV and AC are old but functioning well , no elevator, Wi-Fi unstable sometime .) Hotel Staff are warmly welcome always and always ready to support. We stayed total 3 days there and we had good times."
