Staying in Kobe for a night, I booked this hotel after reading reviews that it's close to Sannomiya Station and relatively new. It was super convenient coming from Kansai Airport; I took the airport bus directly to the Sannomiya bus terminal, and after getting off, it was less than a 10-minute walk with Google Maps. Getting to JR Sannomiya Station from the hotel takes a maximum of 5 minutes, and the Hanshin Line is less than 10 minutes away – both are very close! There are plenty of dining options downstairs, and a 7-Eleven right next door. If you walk out the main hotel entrance and turn left, there's a cute dessert shop called Dorsia about five minutes away. Plus, it's not far from the Sannomiya shopping district, so you can easily walk there. I forgot to take pictures of the room, but in a double room, there was no problem opening a 26-inch suitcase.
Taking the bus from Kansai Airport, it's not a long walk from Sannomiya Station. However, we initially went to the wrong hotel, finding another one by mistake. The hotel is located in a bustling market, which is very convenient. It's right behind Nanjingmachi (Chinatown) and extremely close to the seaside and Sannomiya. The hotel has Chinese-speaking staff who were very polite. The room was also quiet, and the toiletries were excellent. There's a 7-Eleven convenience store to the left. A 5-minute walk to the right will take you to Daimaru Department Store. We stayed for three days and were very satisfied. If we come to Kobe again, we'll likely stay here.

The hotel's hygiene and service are excellent. It's conveniently located 100 meters from Dongpu Bus Terminal, making it easy to catch buses to attractions, though do note that bus frequencies are limited, so check the schedule in advance. On the first floor, there's a microwave, oven, and coffee machine available for guests. Right outside the hotel is a beach, but it seems uncleaned with some litter, and at night, the sea outside the window is pitch black. There's also an Aeon supermarket nearby, which is handy for buying food.
Standard Japanese business hotel. The room was small, but the bedding was comfortable and there was a mini-fridge. Housekeeping is only provided for stays of 4 nights or more. The front desk is open 24 hours and the service is standardized. It's a convenient 5-10 minute walk to the subway, Hankyu line, and JR stations, making it easy to get around.
The outstanding feature of this hotel is the balcony on the roof, which has a fantastic view of the castle, equally amazing in the daylight or after dark. The hotel is clean and modern, and the staff is friendly. It's also extremely close to the castle and beside a long covered shopping gallery, with many stores. (This would also be very convenient if it was raining.)
The hotel is located near the station, it's then possible that you could hear the sound of trains pass by. Room was clean, size is ok for a solo. There're 2 options for dinner and you can choose when getting a coupon at the reception

I accidentally left my bag in the dining area overnight and only realized it the next morning... I felt like my world was falling apart! 🤣
I immediately rushed to the front desk to ask if a bag had been found, not really expecting much. But when the staff member asked for my room number, a glimmer of hope appeared. Then, she appeared before me with my bag, and I was so emotional I almost cried! Thank you again! 💐 You truly showed me what honesty, security, and genuine kindness mean.
The hotel itself is super convenient, just about 200 meters from JR Sannomiya Station. Everything you could need is nearby, and it's so easy to get anywhere by JR. When we left, the Limousine Bus stop for Kansai Airport was also close, within 500-600 meters, making our departure seamless.
From 5 PM to 8 PM, there's a fantastic happy hour with free drinks and snacks. We enjoyed it for all three days of our stay – great atmosphere! It really added to the fun of our visit 🥐🧇🥜🍪🍫🧈🥂🍭. While the room wasn't huge, for us, as sightseers not laden with shopping bags, the size was perfectly adequate.
Another thing to praise -> I booked a king room for 2 adults and 1 child. On the day of check-in, I didn't even mention anything, just checked in normally. When I opened the door, the room had one small bed and one large bed! 👏👏👏 (Perhaps when they copied our passports, they noticed our child was older and thought two beds would be better). A massive THANK YOU! 🌹🌹🌹 All in all, if I have the chance to visit Kobe again, I will definitely choose to stay here!
This hotel is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Motomachi Station on the JR line in central Kobe. They even have a natural hot spring bath, free ice cream, Yakult, and ramen for a late-night snack! However, because it's so popular and there are a lot of guests, you often have to queue for breakfast. On a few days, if we went a bit later, there were no seats left, and we missed out on breakfast entirely.
While the hotel's location isn't as bustling as Kobe's Sannomiya commercial center, it offers excellent value for money, considering its convenient transportation, shopping, dining options, and the hotel's facilities. Opened in 2023, the hotel is very new. I booked a 21 sqm Superior Twin Room, and it didn't feel cramped at all. What I particularly liked was the separate wet and dry shower room, making for a very comfortable shower experience. The hotel elevator goes directly to the basement, where a left turn leads straight to the ticket gates for Hankyu and Hanshin Electric Railways. A right turn and a short walk through the underground shopping street takes you to Kobe JR Station. For major Kobe attractions, including Himeji Castle, you'll primarily use these three railway lines (there are also many subways and buses, but they're largely unnecessary). Day trips to downtown Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, and other places from this hotel are very convenient and affordable. Outside the hotel and in the underground mall, there are plenty of restaurants for dinner. What I loved most were the two large supermarkets downstairs: Life and KOHYO, which offer many delicious and safe Japanese snacks to satisfy any craving. Many fresh food items start getting discounts in the evening, including sashimi, sushi, and tasty bread, which you can buy to eat in your room. Microwaves are available on the 6th and 10th floors. The hotel service was very responsive to requests, for example, when I asked for an extra pillow or daily coffee packets. The hotel's drawbacks: the duvet was too thick, and although the air conditioning kept me cool, its noise affected my sleep; the refrigerator was also a bit noisy. As a side note, for those traveling independently, getting to the hotel from Kobe Airport: take the Port Liner (elevated light rail) for 18 minutes (340 yen) to Sannomiya Station, then transfer to Kobe JR, Hankyu, or Hanshin lines, and the hotel is just 2 or 3 stops away.
The double room was quite a bit more expensive than the king room, but it was very spacious and clean inside, truly comfortable 👍 The front desk is on the second floor, and there's a lounge next to it. It seems like they offer free snacks in the afternoon, but we didn't get to try them.
The location isn't far from Sannomiya Station, but it felt like a maze around there 😵💫 Plus, with the skybridge under construction, several directions were blocked, so it took us ages to find our way in and out every time 🙃 And we had to go up and down that complicated skybridge—maybe I'm just bad with directions… It's about a 10-minute walk to the airport bus stop, which isn't super convenient if you're hauling luggage.

GGuest UserNice, modern and new hotel in Kinosaki onsen with great hospitality from the hotel owner and his staff. I was welcomed by the owner at the door when I arrived, and they even prepared a beautiful greeting card on my arrival. Welcome drink was provided and the owner recommended good restaurants and provided the USP of each onsen in Kinosaki. The room is spacious, clean and new! I especially like the Japanese style of the hotel. Yutaka and 1-day onsen pass were provided for my stay. As the next day I had to move to another hotel, the owner very kindly helped me to transport my luggage to another hotel near the JR station.
Overall, excellent stay, excellent people and excellent breakfast! :)
Would love to visit Kinosaki onsen again and stay with Utsuroi Tsuchiya.

Not foreigner ( Western & Asian) friendly. We travelled around 70 Roykan in the last 3 years and this is the wrost service we ever had. Japanese get to seat and offered juices when they checked in while we have to stand at the front desk and no juice offered. We asked for the yukata rental (free rental) and the young staff just ignore us twice. We asked for sizes a few times then he just said it’s all here. Then when we picking the only two small sizes he grabbed and give it to the Japanese girl and ignore us or never ask us before he took it as he knows we are looking into those. Very rude.
Most of ryokan will bring you to the room or assist to bring luggage or already put in the room for you. This one you do everything yourself after check in.
When we get into the hotel room it’s hot as no aircon is on. Then air con is broken so we called reception. With their broken English they insisted I don’t know how to turn on the aircon which I told them the air con is broken, after 15mins on the phone showing me how to on I keep telling them to send the staff up as we are so hot in the room as it’s summer and no window open and no fan was on after moving luggage. They came up and fix the air con for 45mins then told us it’s broken and need to change room. The whole hour we were sweating but no offer of water / drinks or anything and we just stand in the room while they fixing. When they decided the room need to be changed, they asked us to wait downstairs but leave the luggage in the room so we thought they will move luggage to the new room but they did not. Staff see us so hot at lobby didn’t tell us there is free drinking machine that we can get ice juices , they just watch us hot and sweat and not saying a word. When the new room is finished, they gave us the new room key and asked us to move the luggage ourself and return the old key. No help at all and wasted 1.5 hours of our onsen time. No apologies as well. I feel like being treated like a trash. Not enjoyable at all.
I paid extra for the sea view room which when they change my room they offered a slightly bigger room but my sea view was mostly blocked (in the pic )which I am not so happy.
There is amenities corner at the lobby, at night after the onsen we come back and want to take the lotion as early on it was gone and they didn’t replenish, the female staff have a bad attitude and flip her eyes ask us which room we stayed, we showed her the key and she said the cream is already in the room which her broken English. There is one set in the room but those are small one time pack which we finish after we had the onsen so we want to take another one. She was rude and insist we can’t take. Her attitude was so bad seems like we are stealing. There is an amenities cornor, if you not allowing guest to take please do not have this setup.
Food is okay with the buffet. Wagyu beef is nice but they is a normal standard for Japanese onsen buffet nothing too special.
Overall, with the price paying compare to other roykan in Japan, this hotel have very bad service to non Japanese. There is also nothing special for this onsen. Probably best to try somewhere else.
ZZhaocaixiaoluThe room was quite spacious. I recommend booking the hot springs as early as possible upon arrival. You can only book two different pools per day, and there are a total of five private hot springs plus one public one available. I've tried 'Cat's Love,' 'Seven-Segment Flower,' 'Boat's Love,' and 'Flower's [something],' but the 'Boat' one was a bit too small, even though the staff said it and 'Cat's Love' are quite popular.

Pros:
1. Magnificent rooms in the style of a classic ryokan: everything is very beautiful, authentic, lots of small details, notes and tips for guests, interesting trinkets in the room. We had beds, not futons, but this is not a minus - the beds are very comfortable. The view from the room (3rd floor) is of the mountains. The cleanliness is perfect, the room has everything that should be in a classic ryokan room: from tatami to a low table for relaxing.
2. Incomparable kaiseki dinner. Excellent sukiyaki breakfast (you cook it yourself).
3. The most beautiful interiors of the hotel, it is interesting to walk around it, exploring it from the inside. The hotel is beautiful from the outside too.
4. You can smoke in the rooms (we did not do this, and the rooms are not smoked at all). There is a smoking room at the entrance to the hotel.
5. Wonderful staff. All requests and complaints are satisfied within minutes. They speak English poorly, but it's not a problem, we communicated through a translator. The guys are cool, cheerful. Quick check-in, a bunch of reminders about where and when to come / what and how to do correctly.
6. There is a private onsen (we did not use it).
7. They give a free pass to 7 public onsen. They give discounts on souvenirs.
8. They give excellent yukatas for onsen, for women - they will give beautiful ones, the choice is huge.
Nuances:
1. The only downside of the hotel is the distance from the center of Kinosaki (15-20 minutes walk through not very beautiful places). But! There is a free transfer from the hotel to the city center, plus there is a transfer station-hotel-station. And the walk from the hotel to the center of Kinosaki did not bother us much.
2. This is not a business hotel, so there is no washing machine, iron or shower in the room. The shower (and in fact - onsen) is shared on the minus first floor - separate for men and women.

GGuest UserThis is the fourth time I have stayed, and I have to stay in Chengqi but the horse house. The warm hospitality of the proprietress and staff, as well as a rich one berth and two meals, is satisfying. Note that only one child under 6 years old can be accommodated in each room.

The breakfast was a buffet style with a rich selection, including Tajima beef, and everything was delicious 😋. For the price, getting breakfast, hot spring hopping tickets, and wearing a yukata was really reasonable and a great value. I'd love to stay again.

There also offered tea bags that you can take freely take from the lobby. The surrounding area has some renovations going on but the hotel is right by the Sannomiya station and bus terminal. The Lawson convenience store is right outside.
