I really appreciated my stay at the Barringo Inn. The service was excellent, and the entire hotel was spotlessly clean. A special shout-out to the guy at the reception—he was incredibly nice and went out of his way to be helpful throughout my visit. What really stood out to me was how reliable the hotel is. Before I even arrived in China, I ordered some parcels from Taobao and had them shipped to the hotel. They arrived early, and the receptionist kindly kept them for me for four full days until I checked in. That level of trust and care is truly unique and not something you experience everywhere. The location is another huge plus. The hotel is very close to many of Zhangjiajie's famous attractions, and practically everything you need is right nearby—supermarkets, restaurants, barbers, coffee shops, and traditional Chinese eateries are all within easy reach. If you're craving something different, you can even walk a little bit and find western options like pizza. It's incredibly convenient for any type of traveler. Overall, a fantastic experience—I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting! Next time I come back to Zhangjiajie, I will definitely book this hotel again without hesitation.

[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app. The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one. You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station. [ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations. The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends. There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village. For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate. About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan. Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

The accommodation is exceptionally clean and tidy, with complete facilities, and it's very close to the East Gate of Wulingyuan. The hostel owner is incredibly warm, friendly, and especially considerate. Despite the very hot weather, the owner always prepared chilled bottled water for us, which we deeply appreciated. Furthermore, we purchased tickets for various Zhangjiajie scenic spots (Tianmen Mountain, Grand Canyon, National Forest Park, Furong Ancient Town) through the hostel owner, and the prices were even cheaper than buying online. The owner also enthusiastically helped us with various aspects of our Zhangjiajie trip, making what could have been a complicated journey much easier. I highly recommend this hostel! If you're coming to Zhangjiajie, I truly suggest staying here!

Best hotel ever. 1. The room was big, comfortable and clean. The bed was also comfortable. 2. Amazing view (see photo attached)! 😍 3. The staff was very kind and helpful. The receptionist organized our 3 day trip free of charge and he did an amazing job (fast entries, not too crowded, everything was smooth), he saved us a lot of time and even explained the plan perfectly. They were available on wechat and replied very fast 😁 4. We destroyed our hair dryer and they gave us a new one without making us feel bad or even compensate for it. 5. The location is amazing, near the river, center of a city and even park entry (10-15 min walk) Do not hesitate and stay here ☺️

Floral Hotel has a wonderful atmosphere that feels like a perfect mix between a hotel and being at home. Many of the reviews mention the owners, and after staying here ourselves, we completely understand why. Mrs. Huang and her husband are truly wonderful people who made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. The room options were excellent, and our room was always clean, tidy, cozy, and very comfortable throughout our stay. Towels were changed daily, trash was taken out regularly, and the level of care and attention to detail was exceptional. We happened to arrive during several rainy days and unfortunately both caught colds while travelling. Mrs. Huang was exceptionally kind and supportive — preparing delicious and nutritious breakfasts for us each morning, helping us book attraction tickets at affordable prices, and giving us helpful advice and recommendations every single day. One particularly rainy day, while we were out sightseeing, she even turned the heating on in our room before we returned so we could immediately warm up and enjoy a hot shower after being out in the cold and rain. It was such a thoughtful gesture and truly appreciated. What touched us most was the genuine care we received throughout our stay. On our final day, despite us leaving very early in the morning, Mrs. Huang woke up to prepare breakfast for us at 5:30am before our departure. We were also in the area preparing for a friend’s wedding, and Mrs. Huang kindly recommended local barbers, a nail salon, and a lovely local restaurant, which made everything so much easier for us. The neighbourhood itself has such a warm community feel, and the hotel truly feels like a home away from home. Although Mrs. Huang does not speak English, she has a fantastic translation device which made discussing more complex topics very easy. She made every effort to ensure communication was smooth and effortless, and we never felt uncomfortable or unsupported. The hotel also has washing facilities available, and during sunny days you can dry your clothes on the rooftop under a covered area, which is incredibly useful for longer stays or after rainy sightseeing days. Although Floral Hotel is not a large modern hotel chain, that is exactly part of its charm. The wooden and rustic design fits perfectly with the character and atmosphere of the wider Wulingyuan area, creating a peaceful and authentic place to stay. It feels warm, personal, and relaxing rather than commercial or impersonal. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, caring, and restful place with genuine hospitality. We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and hospitality we experienced here and would happily stay again in the future.

Beautiful location, disappointing stay The location of this guesthouse is excellent, right in the center of Dehang Miao Village, with a lovely view of the river that runs through the village. The village itself is very charming and picturesque, and the setting could not be better. Unfortunately, our experience with the accommodation was not as positive. Compared with other places where we stayed during our trip in China, the room was not particularly clean. There were hairs on the bathroom floor and dead insects, which may have entered through the window after cleaning, but they were still there when we arrived. Our room was on the top floor, where renovation work was apparently still ongoing. Water was dripping from the ceiling directly above one of the beds. The owners had placed adhesive tape around the ceiling light where the water was leaking, which looked quite unsafe and raised concerns about a possible electrical short circuit. The larger double bed had an extremely hard mattress, making it uncomfortable to sleep on. The air conditioning unit was positioned so that the airflow blew directly onto the bed. However, turning it off was not really an option because the room quickly became hot and humid. The owner was kind enough to pick us up and drive us back to the village entrance with his car, which we appreciated. We had also asked about breakfast for the following morning. We were initially told to wait until the next day because the owner’s wife was not available. The following morning she kindly offered to prepare breakfast for us, but unfortunately we had already planned to leave early. Communication was difficult because the only way to contact the property was by telephone. As we do not speak Chinese, we had to ask the receptionist at our previous hotel to call on our behalf. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of information provided about the village. Nobody explained what there was to see or do, nor did they provide any information about Miao culture, local traditions, or typical dishes. We discovered by chance that there was an afternoon performance taking place in the village, and we found the trail to the waterfall only after searching online ourselves. Despite the positive reviews, our stay did not meet expectations, and we would not choose this property again. On a positive note, we had an excellent meal at the restaurant in the main square, the one with the hanging corn cobs and fans outside. The two ladies working there were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the food was among the best we had during our visit.

Highly recommended!!! This homestay is located closer to South Gate of the National Park which I believe provides nicer views with much fewer crowds then the main East Gate. The room we stayed at was warmly decorated with everything you need. Shower was comfortable and it was quiet at night to sleep. We woke up to the sound of country birdsong and farm rooster, then looking out to beautiful mountain views and wildflowers blooming with crisp fresh air. The pick-up and drop off services made the whole trip so much smoother and saved us lots of time and money. The owner was super kind and helpful with planning itinerary around weather and purchasing discounted tickets for us. We managed to tick our whole list for Zhangjiajie and are extremely happy. Oh and did I mention the home-cooked farm dishes. They are sooo delicious with the freshest ingredients, at very reasonable prices for a touristy area. Must try the homemade sausages and barbecue! To be fair all of the other dishes were incredible too so you can't go wrong. They were so yummy and satisfying after a long day of hiking and adventures. If you want an true authentic local experience at great value, dont hesitate and book this place. The owner running this place is kind, attentive and most importantly trustworthy. I originally booked the arena-themed room, but since it was off-peak season and there were plenty of vacancies, the owner let us choose between two rooms on the second floor. We opted for the larger pirate-themed room. The owner was incredibly helpful and even offered discounted tickets at the hotel. We were able to check in early and store our luggage on the last day, which was a huge convenience. The owner was really nice, and there was an adorable little cat on the sofa next to the front desk. We also had beautiful clear weather, and the Grand Canyon was stunning.

The hotel boss is very friendly and proactive. We checked in late at night and she waited for us till we were set. Moreover, she gifted us soy milk and free water. When we wanted to go to the national park. She helped us arrange a taxi ride that was as early as 06:30 am and the driver was waiting for us even before then.

Excellent stay and we'd happily return. The room was spacious and cosy, with super comfortable beds and excellent Wi-Fi. Complimentary bottled water was provided every day, and the staff always made sure we took some with us before heading out, which was a lovely touch. The location is fantastic—less than a 10-minute walk to the East Gate entrance, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The only minor issue was that the shower seemed to be either hot or cold rather than warm, but it didn't detract from an otherwise excellent stay.
