"Hilton's hotel standards are consistently high. Traveling along the Hexi Corridor, our first stop was Wuwei, where we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. Location: Only a 5-minute walk from the highway exit, and a large shopping mall a 10-minute walk away, offering a wide variety of dining and shopping options. Parking: Hundreds of parking spaces, both above and below ground, provide ample space. Facilities: Rooms are equipped with humidifiers, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. Dining: A wide variety of dining options. Service: The room and restaurant staff were very polite, and the receptionist was excellent; she even gave us a small gift upon check-out. "My wife and I just stayed at the Dunhuang Hotel. We were incredibly impressed by the beautiful architecture, excellent service, and profound cultural heritage of this place. The hotel boasts an exceptional location near Mingsha Mountain, offering panoramic desert views from its upper floors. The entire establishment resembles a desert castle, standing majestically amidst the vast Gobi Desert, overlooking the ancient Silk Road. In the lobby, three colossal murals depict themes of the Silk Road: its people, treasures, and architecture. These murals, soaring three stories high, transport guests through ancient history, creating a truly awe-inspiring experience. The hotel's Chinese restaurant is grand, designed in the style of a traditional three-courtyard mansion. Every brick and tile, every intricate eave, exudes a Han and Tang dynasty grandeur. Yet, the wooden beaded curtains at the entrance, the exotic carpets, and various decorative details remind you that this is the empire's frontier, a vital gateway to the Western Regions. As dusk falls, red lanterns beneath the eaves and landscape lights on the lawn illuminate the castle-like rammed earth walls, casting a warm, reddish glow. The distant blue sky and tranquil desert beautifully complement each other, forming a serene and picturesque scene where beauty can be found at almost every turn. The guest rooms are equally distinctive, seemingly a fusion of Central Plain and Western Regions cultures. Most of the furniture is Chinese in style: the grand chairs, round tables and stools, stacked cabinets, and the bird-and-flower paintings on the walls all evoke an antique charm. Upon closer inspection, almost all tabletops are covered with brightly colored, exotic-style tablecloths, and large areas of the floor are laid with thick, soft, and comfortable Bohemian carpets. The lighting fixtures also often have a Western Regions flair, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, as if you've entered a nomad's home. It's worth noting that the bedside and floor lamps are adorned with frescoes of the flying apsaras from the Mogao Grottoes, a testament to the cultural richness embedded in every detail. Each room also provides a collection of books for guests to read, including the 'Dunhuang City Chronicles,' stories of the Mogao Grottoes frescoes, and the handwritten notes of the late founder, Mr. Wang Mangang. These notes recount his challenging experience of investing in and building the hotel in Dunhuang during the early days of reform and opening up in 1993, inspiring a deeper understanding and respect for this hotel. In my opinion, Dunhuang Hotel is not just a place to stay; it's a heartfelt interpretation and preservation of Dunhuang and the Silk Road culture. It left us with warm and unforgettable memories. "We upgraded to a tent room, and it was incredibly clean and hygienic. All the toiletries, bath towels, and hand towels were single-use, which was very reassuring. What's truly worth mentioning is the water pressure – the shower was surprisingly powerful, making showering an absolute delight! The water pressure in the city hotels we stayed in the following days couldn't compare to this glamping site. The environment is simply fantastic, offering the quiet solitude of the entire desert. The ATV desert buggy ride takes you to a high peak, which is perfect for amazing photos. Sandboarding was a blast for the kids, and the travel photography captured the beauty of the whole beach without the crowds. Plus, the butler service was excellent – they responded promptly to all our questions and were always available, which was wonderful. Just a heads-up: it can get windy at night, and the tent makes some noise. I was a bit scared at first, but I eventually got used to it. For first-timers, you can sleep soundly; don't worry like I did! 😄"

"The Dunhuang Night Market is right across the street, literally just a zebra crossing away, which is super convenient. If you're into nightlife, this is definitely your top pick. The room is quite spacious, and the design is very photogenic. Besides the bed, there's a sofa that feels big enough to lie on. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a distant view of Mingsha Mountain. This is a large building, with food courts and restaurants on the 4th and 5th floors, making food delivery very easy. The mini-bar has delicious apricot peel tea, which was a nice touch. It would be even better if breakfast buffet was included in the stay in the future."

"After comparing several accommodations for my trip to Zhangye Danxia, I chose Kaoshan Daying (Back Mountain Camp). The Starry Sky Yurt was what truly captivated me, and my entire stay exceeded expectations – highly recommended! Location-wise, the camp is right next to the West Gate of the Danxia scenic area, making travel incredibly convenient. No need for roundabout detours; I could step out early in the morning to catch the Danxia sunrise. This fantastic location also saved me a lot of effort when it came to stargazing at night. Now, let's talk about the Starry Sky Yurt. Before I arrived, I was a bit worried about roughing it in a tent out in the wilderness, but my stay completely changed my mind. The yurt was spotlessly clean and tidy, well-ventilated with no strange odors. The bed was soft and comfortable, and despite the large temperature swings in the Gobi Desert between day and night, the interior was well-insulated and never felt cold or damp. The en-suite bathroom was excellent, with 24-hour hot water and a full range of toiletries. It truly offered a luxurious wilderness experience that blended comfort with ambiance, without compromising on daily conveniences. However, the panoramic skylight at the top of the yurt was the real highlight and the biggest surprise of my trip. The camp is far from the city, meaning almost no light pollution. As night fell, the entire sky was unblocked and spread out above me. I didn't even have to step outside into the wind; I could lie in bed and gaze up at the countless stars. The Milky Way stretched clearly across the mountains, with stars so bright and dense – a magnificent night sky rarely seen in the city. Lying there quietly, watching the celestial river flow and listening to the distant Gobi breeze, all my travel fatigue slowly melted away. It was incredibly romantic and healing. The camp's amenities were also very thoughtful. In the evening, you can enjoy a starlit BBQ and hotpot. After dinner, there's a bonfire party. Then, after a stroll, you return to your yurt to continue enjoying the tranquil starry sky. The self-driving parking area is spacious, and RV resupply facilities are comprehensive. The staff were warm and meticulous in their service; they thoughtfully informed me of the best stargazing times and were always on hand to help with any issues. The unique Danxia mountain light show at night, coupled with the vast starry sky, created a multi-layered and stunning view. The special clear-broth suoyang hotpot was authentic and generously portioned, perfect for a hot meal after a day of exploring. Whether you're traveling as a couple or with friends, the Starry Sky Yurt is an exceptionally suitable choice. You can admire the Danxia landforms up close and immerse yourself in lying under the Milky Way – it perfectly combines natural beauty with comfortable accommodation. This is an unmissable gem when visiting Danxia, and I will definitely choose the Starry Sky Yurt again on my next trip to Zhangye."

"Probably the largest hotel in Xiahe. It's a short walk to Labrang Monastery. There's no air conditioning, which might be because it doesn't get hot here in the summer. They said they had floor heating, but it wasn't turn-on yet when we checked in, and it got a bit chilly after the rain. The hotel has a restaurant, and you can order dinner, though I found it a bit pricey – I guess that's common for tourist spots. Breakfast was decent, and the cleanliness was acceptable. Overall, I didn't feel like there were any major downsides."

The warmth of the people in Northwest China was evident from the moment we arrived; the driver proactively helped us with our large luggage, saving my parents from having to carry heavy bags. We were smoothly transported to the hotel, without having to worry about finding a taxi. During the ride, the driver also shared travel tips for Dunhuang, which was incredibly helpful for those traveling with elderly parents. This free service offers unbeatable value for money. However, the driver did receive several calls during our ride from guests who had already arrived and needed immediate pick-up, which put him in a difficult position. I'd advise everyone to book with the hotel in advance, as it's a dedicated service, and I understand the challenges they face. Stepping into the room was a pleasant surprise. The hotel had already prepared local dried fruits and apricot tea. After a long journey, we were all parched, and my parents repeatedly praised the apricot tea. The dried fruits were generously portioned. These simple gifts showed how well the hotel understands the fatigue of travelers; their attention to detail was exceptional, and I was truly grateful. The hotel's location is truly impeccable and incredibly convenient for getting around. It's just a short walk to Shazhou Night Market, where we took my parents to explore and enjoy local specialties in the evening. Dunhuang Bookstore is also nearby, perfect for a leisurely stroll to browse books. The museum is also very close. Dunhuang's streets are clean and flat, making it safe for seniors to walk around. Although it's near a commercial area, the soundproofing in the guest rooms is excellent, so it was very quiet at night, and we slept wonderfully. The front desk staff also patiently shared local sightseeing routes. From the complimentary pick-up service and the thoughtful snacks in the room, to the convenient location and the new, well-equipped facilities, our entire experience was excellent. The attention to detail shows that this hotel genuinely considers its guests. It's suitable for solo travelers, couples, or families, and our stay was a perfect 10/10."
