When I booked the hotel, I felt that the overall hotel in Sri Lanka was not cheap. I saw a hotel in Anuradpur without seeing the price + environment. I simply decided this one. The trial and error cost was low. I didn't expect it but it was quite good.
There are not many hotel rooms, the service can keep up, there is no decoration in the room, there are a lot of geckos outside, but there are no geckos in the room, no mosquitoes, this is very good. Hotel breakfast can choose Western and Sri Lankan (basically every hotel is like this), the weight is very sufficient. I think it's the king of cost performance.

My booking was for 3 Double Deluxe King beds with lake views rooms, and I'm not happy because:
The rooms I booked were not the ones I got it. They told me the pictures were wrong, but they are still on the website, so be sure you finally get the rooms you booked.
Only 1 of the 3 rooms had lake views, the other 2 rooms were not lake views.
TV didn't work in one of the rooms.
All the 3 rooms need improvement.
I attached the picture of the room it was supposed I got it, but I didn't.
I contacted with reception desk 24 hours of arrival day asking for safari prices and they answered me one day after at 21 pm, so if you stay only for 1 or 2 days, this is a really late answer.
So be sure when you book and paid for the Deluxe lake view room is the correct one.
For other hand, the breakfast amd dinner menu are plenty od good and different choices of food.

As the first accommodation for my trip to Sri Lanka, it is located about a 10 to 20-minute walk from the Anuradhapura Bus Terminal and the city center. Since it is an area where PickMe taxis are readily available, there are no issues.
All the staff are friendly, and the room is clean, comfortable, and equipped with air conditioning. There are some ants and bugs, but I believe this is the case everywhere in Anuradhapura.

Overall friendly service and helped us book tours to the temples. However, really bad WiFi in the rooms. Bedsheets weren’t that clean. Bathroom floor was kind of sticky at first, as if they cleaned it with sugar water. Don’t expect too much from the breakfast since it’s just white toast, an egg, one cherry tomato fried, and 4 sticks of French fries. The overall design of the hotel is very nice tho with a big tropical yard. For one or two nights it’s totally ok.

The hotel is in a good environment, facing the Great Lakes. There are unwashed small stains on the sheets. At night, I went to the hotel to recommend the boat trip to the lake to watch the birds and watch the sunset. It is a very rare experience. When I came back, it was already dark. The moon in the sky, the light of the hotel on the shore, and the chanting of the monks. . . The whole process of paddling by two young people is very hard and environmentally friendly. The next day, there was some unpleasantness at the checkout. The dinner expenses that had been paid by my husband were in the blink of an eye and the same fee-paying waiter planned to take the payment of my friend. . .

A wonderful, comfortable place to stay. It is located in a really convenient place if you wish to walk to cafes, restaurants, bars, shops and laundry services. The rooms/grounds/environment are very nice, sitting next to Habarana Lake and you will share the grounds with nature. The food was wonderful, especially the local Sri Lankan dishes. However, the best thing about this place is the staff - absolutely brilliant - friendly, helpful and attentive.

This was a great location in Polonnaruwa. We loved all the services provided. The hotel had a great garden and I would say this is one of the best hotel gardens ever experienced in Sri Lanka. I specially thank front office “Hansika” which she was very proactive in helping out, also her wonderful customer service to all of us stayed at the hotel. We also would like to thank “Dilshan” for his services throughout dining. We wish both of these staff very well and hope to come back soon. Also would definitely recommend the place for wonderful stay with fantastic views over Parakrama Samdudraya.

”When you enter this hotel, you are greeted pleasantly by the large and welcoming reception area. However, as you walk through the corridors, the atmosphere changes; they are cold and stripped of decoration, giving them a somewhat sober appearance. The rooms are spacious and have large windows offering views of the gardens, which is a big plus. The pool area is another positive; it is very quiet and in excellent condition, ideal for relaxing. As for breakfast, although it is extensive and varied with a good curries on offer, there is one small drawback: the buffet is located in the hotel corridor. This means that you have to constantly leave the restaurant to access the breakfast options, which can be somewhat inconvenient. Lastly, it is worth mentioning that there are not many options in the surrounding area. There is a lake where you can walk around, but if you are looking for restaurants or nightlife, you will have to travel to the city, which is quite far away. In summary, the hotel has a lot of potential thanks to its excellent entrance and comfortable rooms, but could improve in terms of the decoration of the hallways and the convenience of breakfast.”

The food was outstanding, with rich and flavourful bakery items and beautifully prepared curries that made each meal memorable. Our room allocation and room service were handled with elegance and care. The spacious bathroom, generous amenities, and the breathtaking view added a special touch that we will never forget. Loss property service is admirable. I got my valuable shirt back—honest and True Values at Service by the staff. The evening dinner with our family and friends was wonderfully arranged and thoughtfully catered—an experience we deeply cherished. To Sanath, Janitha, and the entire team: thank you for making our anniversary stay both memorable and heartfelt. A special appreciation also goes out to all service staff, security personnel, and support teams for their exceptional dedication. We are truly grateful and look forward to returning.

Cinnamon Lodge Habarana is a peaceful, nature-filled hotel with a beautiful garden setting and a relaxing lake nearby. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the staff are very friendly and helpful, which makes the stay feel warm and welcoming. The food is tasty with a good variety of Sri Lankan and international dishes, and the large pool and open green spaces create a calm resort atmosphere that is perfect for unwinding after visiting nearby sites like Sigiriya and Dambulla

Ismattha Hotel Anuradhapura is easy to locate and nearby to the local sights. we checked in pretty late and was still greeted by the reception with a big smile, appreciate their kindness and quick arrangements for check in and dinner at the restaurant was simply delicious. room walls can be pretty thin though, so light sleepers should ask for a corner room, cuz can hear guests walking pass outside. hotel parking is easy and safe, one key point for self drive tourists. there's a nice pool which we didn't get to use but from the pool, one can relax an see local trains pass by, so it's pretty cool. breakfast is simple but delicious and the staff are simply like friends welcoming you into their homes.

SSL Travel in JapanI recently stayed this hotel and overall had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the area. The breakfast was also a nice touch—fresh and with a good variety. However, the only downside was the Wi-Fi. It was either very slow or not working at all during most of my stay, which was a bit frustrating since I needed to do some work online. I mentioned it to the front desk, but unfortunately, the issue wasn’t resolved. If you don’t rely heavily on internet access during your stay, this place is a great choice. But for remote workers or those needing reliable connectivity, keep this in mind

GGuest UserI had an excellent stay at Hotel Sudu Araliya in Polonnaruwa! The location is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views and a serene ambiance. The highlight of my visit was witnessing the sunset – it was a truly magical experience. The food was delicious, with a great variety to satisfy every palate. The staff provided exceptional customer service, always friendly and attentive to our needs, making the stay even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with great views, excellent food, and warm hospitality, Hotel Sudu Araliya is the perfect choice. Highly recommended! 🌅🍽️✨

Loved the way Roshan communicated to meet our needs … even for a one night stay. He organised our half day safari & we enjoyed a fabulous meal the night before … such a variety of dishes, all home cooked … yummy The place was amazing … very new & in excellent condition. They were not fully booked & so we were offered an upgrade. His niece, Nikki?, accompanied us on the safari at no extra cost … her knowledge of birds & other wildlife really enhanced our experience. She willingly shared her photos with us, along with her excellent spotting ability. Thanks to everyone who contributed in some way to a memorable weekend

アアザラチI highly recommend this place for your stay in Polonnaruwa. You can enjoy a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast on the terrace nestled in a quiet forest. A short walk away is a lake where you can stroll along the shore or watch the sunset. The room was very comfortable, equipped with everything you need for your stay, including air conditioning and a hot water shower. We only stayed one night due to our itinerary, but I recommend staying longer if you have the time.
