"Staying at the Golden Lion Hotel was the biggest surprise of my trip to Cangzhou! While the hotel's facilities might seem a bit dated at first glance, they are incredibly well-maintained. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the bathroom, in particular, felt very high-quality. What truly impressed me most was the service – friendly, fast, timely, and respectful; everything was executed flawlessly. The complimentary shuttle service to major attractions and the high-speed rail station was incredibly convenient and comfortable! The dining experience was nothing short of a feast. The breakfast quality, even when compared to top-tier cities, is absolutely outstanding – a true culinary delight! Over three days, I diligently tried to sample as much as possible: lamb intestines, donkey burgers, fried tiger (likely a local dish name), meat buns, congee, tofu pudding, jianbing guozi, sugar oil cakes, noodles, various hot and cold dishes, and a wide array of fruits. I truly gave it my all! Plus, the hotel provided a 198 RMB dining voucher, which I used at the Cantonese restaurant, and without exception, everything was delicious! Trust me, you need at least three days to fully enjoy all the food here. All in all, the Golden Lion is the most cost-effective hotel I've stayed in for years. Its overall quality clearly surpasses most international five-star hotels, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's worth revisiting Cangzhou just to stay at the Golden Lion again."

"I've stayed here a few times now, and the facilities, cleanliness, and environment are consistently excellent. However, there are quite a few issues: Firstly, the air conditioning is always too cold in summer; even with a light jacket and long pants, it's still freezing. Secondly, I tried to check in at 2:30 PM, and the front desk staff, a young man with glasses, told me my reserved room was ready and just being inspected, asking me to wait in the lobby and promising a call. After waiting for half an hour with no news, I went back to the front desk, only to find out my room key had already been processed, but no one had informed me. The staff member with glasses was also nowhere to be found. This level of service attitude and work efficiency is truly speechless. I hope the hotel strengthens its training for staff regarding their professional skills and service awareness."

"As foreign travellers, we ran into some difficulties purchasing attraction tickets and bus transfer due to lack of a local phone number. We met David at the concierge and asked if we could get some help to purchase. Without hesitation, he offered to purchase on our behalf and even followed up with the attraction to confirm the arrangement. Thanks to his help, we were able to visit the attraction smoothly the next day without any issues. He made us feel very welcome, and his help left us with a wonderful impression of Handan☺️ Thanks David!"

"An absolutely fantastic experience! Not only was the service excellent, but the room was also spotless, tidy, and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed a relaxing hot bath in the in-room bathtub. The breakfast spread was incredibly rich, offering both Chinese and Western options, so there was plenty to choose from. The executive lounge on the 53rd floor was also great, with attentive service. The evening food selection there exceeded my expectations – I didn't even need to go elsewhere for dinner. The red wine I had was also very good, smooth and not at all astringent."

I initially thought it would be a generic, 'assembly-line' type of thing, but the photographer was incredibly professional. They were fantastic at engaging with my child, patiently making them laugh and playing games throughout the session. The candid shots captured so many natural, lively expressions, completely unlike stiff, posed photos. Even the unedited originals looked amazing, and I had a tough time choosing my favorites! 🌿 The hotel environment also gets huge bonus points. A lovely, sophisticated fragrance filled the air from the lobby to the elevators, making me feel pleasant every time I came and went. The attention to service details was exceptional – there's even a dedicated takeaway recycling cabinet in the hallway, which is such a thoughtful design! No worries about leftover food accumulating and causing odors in the room. Plus, every time I called for ice, it arrived incredibly fast – full marks for responsiveness. 🍽️ The food definitely deserves a special mention! I ordered room service, half-expecting smaller portions, but everything arrived generous and delicious. The quality wasn't compromised at all just because it was room service; they clearly put a lot of effort into it. 🍸 When I wanted to grab a drink in the evening, I found the hotel bar wasn't a quiet, deserted place. The atmosphere was lively, with someone singing and people chatting animatedly. If you're looking to relax and have a good time, this spot is perfect. All in all, our family of three was extremely satisfied with our stay. We will definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Qinhuangdao. Highly recommend it for families with kids and anyone who enjoys a vibrant atmosphere! ✨"

"Arrived on the afternoon of Chinese New Year's Day. Both counters were busy during check-in, but Cathy proactively directed us to the third one. Since we were two adults with two young children, it was a bit of a struggle. Cathy thoughtfully gave the kids small horses to comfort them, which was very sweet. For the rest of our stay, everything perfectly matched our booking requests: a bed rail was installed, and child-friendly toiletries and a toilet seat were provided. The housekeeping staff never slacked off, even though the kids made quite a mess. Our room was always spotless when we returned. We'll definitely be back!"

"The room was incredibly spacious. The special drink at the front desk was delicious, and it was fun to DIY cocktails in the room, even if my first attempt tasted awful, haha. The hotel's location is very quiet; even the seagulls choose to stop and rest here. The architecture has a beautiful, linear aesthetic. Carson provided excellent service, and I kept thanking him. The food at the sea-view restaurant was also quite good, and they had my favorite soup. If I'm in China next spring, I'll definitely come back to Aranya and choose The Azure again. "I was in Tangshan for a business trip and decided to bring my parents to Hetou Old Street to celebrate my mom's birthday. The last time I stayed here, Iris Yao Jiajing was my DM, and she made my stay so wonderful that I chose InterContinental again for my parents' visit. This time, we encountered a few minor issues with the room facilities, which is understandable given the hotel's age. However, every single problem was promptly and effectively resolved by Manager Yao Jiajing. She also proactively checked the room availability and upgraded my parents' room for free, which was a lovely surprise. When she learned it was my mother's birthday, she thoughtfully arranged a tea break with a cake for us. Throughout our stay, she also checked in to see if we needed anything else. I am incredibly grateful for Manager Yao's professionalism and attentiveness; she has truly left me with a positive impression of this hotel, and her service made our family trip exceptionally smooth."
