From the moment I arrived until check-out, every aspect of the hotel demonstrated professionalism, warm and attentive service, and an extreme attention to detail. The front desk team greeted me warmly and ensured both the check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient. They were consistently polite, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist me with any questions. The housekeeping department maintained an excellent standard in my room throughout my stay. The room and all public areas of the hotel were spotless, well-maintained, and beautifully appointed. It was clear that cleanliness and guest comfort are top priorities for the hotel. The cafe served delicious food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were warm, attentive, friendly, and always provided prompt service with a genuine smile. The Dingyan Chinese Restaurant was another highlight of my stay. The dishes were authentic, fresh, and delicious. The restaurant staff were professional and meticulous, making every meal a pleasant experience. What particularly impressed me was that all staff members were dressed in neat and appropriate uniforms, showcasing the hotel's highly professional image. Every employee I encountered was polite, warm, friendly, and helpful, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for every guest. I must also give a special commendation to the hotel manager, whose outstanding leadership was evident in the high-quality service across all aspects of the hotel. The manager was approachable, professional, and genuinely cared about every guest, ensuring they had a pleasant and memorable stay. Jiuding Yueyue Hotel is clean, well-managed, and offers first-class service across all departments. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking comfort, high quality, and genuine hospitality. "I really enjoyed my stay at Boudha Apart Hotel, and meeting the Sherpa family. They treated me with kindness and attention. The room was clean and like new. Also very quiet as it was away from the street. I had breakfast there on several days. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the stupa in Boudhanath. I would stay again, thank you Micheal and Pema!"

"The whole hotel system seems to be created with foreigners in mind. I stayed for 2 nights, while my family stayed for 3 nights. I originally booked the 2 nights through Trip.com. When I wanted to add an extra day, I was informed it was better to book it again online. At that time, I was in Nepal for 3 days and my phone was being repaired in Hong Kong, so I didn’t have access to my usual email or digital wallet. I had Nepali cash, but the payment system wouldn’t allow it, and I was denied the option to add more nights directly at the front desk. I tried booking again using my temporary phone, but the credit/card wouldn’t allow it—possibly because the phone and location were new and my digital wallet couldn’t be used. The only solution was asking a friend to book the additional night for me. This experience made me feel that the system is not friendly to Nepali guests and that they may strongly prefer online foreign-currency-style payment methods rather than Nepali rupees. I also tried to get the Nepali rate. It was around NPR 12,000–15,000, while the online rate was significantly cheaper. Based on the current currency conversion, the price difference felt like it could be about 3,000–5,000 rupees less online. This also made me feel they may not truly support Nepali pricing equally. The front desk staff were sometimes helpful, but they often didn’t seem genuine. Some staff seemed reluctant and not truly welcoming or happy to assist. In contrast, the only people who felt consistently happy to see me amd my family were the housekeeping staff and the guards. About the room it’s a bit small. I took a long warm shower, and after a while the water started leaking toward the bedroom corridor. However, there were also positives—despite being in Kathmandu, the tap had good water flow and the water color looked clear, not yellowish (and not as low-flow). Overall, the stay didn’t feel welcoming to me or my family. I’m not sure if this is because the system is designed not to cater well to Nepali guests, or simply because the staff attitude was “blah.” Would I stay again? It feels like 50–50. My honest advice is: if you’re not Nepali, you will love it. But if you are Nepali and want to feel genuinely welcomed, you should think carefully—because you could spend the same amount or much more less at a family-owned business and likely feel much more respected and welcomed."

"The hotel is very quiet. The air conditioning worked well, and the room temperature was comfortable. There were no gnats or mosquitoes. The plumbing fixtures were new. Thorough cleaning was provided promptly at the push of a button. In the courtyard, you can admire the beautiful landscape design. For breakfast, the restaurant offers Indian, Continental, or American options, and you can also order additional dishes. The interior of the restaurant is adorned with a large panel depicting a view of old Patan Square. Two bottles of water were provided in the room. Durbar Square is within walking distance. The staff is very polite and attentive. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant and comfortable stay in the center of Kathmandu."

"Very close to the airport, a 6-minute drive. The hotel is very clean, and the service is really excellent; the front desk staff are very enthusiastic. After staying for one night, I booked three more nights. It's actually quite close to the tourist attractions, and taxis are cheap."

"The room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?"

"My stay at the Mulberry Hotel in Kathmandu was generally very pleasant, but I have one major complaint I'd like to mention. When we selected the hotel, it was stated that the airport transfer was free, which was one of the reasons we decided to stay there. However, despite having communicated our intention to use this service both when booking and three days before our arrival, we were informed that there was an additional charge for the transfer. Fortunately, we were able to resolve the issue through the website where we made the reservation, but I'm concerned that this information is still available on their site. If the hotel continues to advertise the airport transfer as free, either they're changing it or they're misleading customers, which is unacceptable. Also, to add a humorous twist to the situation: when we checked out of the hotel and took a taxi, it turned out the price was actually half of what we had paid for the hotel service! So if you decide to take a taxi, you can save a few dollars! On the other hand, the hotel facilities are good, and the rooms are fine. The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of Western and Indian-style options. The rooftop pool has great potential with beautiful views of the city, although it needs more attention and care due to the dust in the area. Overall, I would recommend the Mulberry Hotel for its good location and breakfast, but I suggest they clarify information about airport transfers to avoid future confusion. And don't hesitate to take a taxi to the airport to save some money!"

"My favorite hotel in Nepal! The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and cooperative. The hotel features a lovely pool and a beautiful garden with stunning views. It's one of the most impressive heritage hotels I've stayed in. Plus, its location is great—it's a hassle-free and easy walk to anywhere, with the busy Thamel street just 10-15 minutes away. You won’t regret your stay, it's definitely worth every penny!"

"The rooms are this hotel are very nice. The location is perfect. The service levels are very high. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. In particular, Monika and Besang in the restaurant, Sita and Binita for the cleaning service, and all the security staff. Overall, our stay here was very good. The breakfast is very good, with a nice variety. If I could suggest some improvements, it would be fresh pastries for breakfast and maybe some alternatives to cows milk such as oat or almond milk. The other thing is, the gym needs a total refresh. I recommend staying here. It is a very good offer overall. Thank you for giving us a pleasant stay."
