The love of the mountains and rivers of Haokun Lake

"The hotel is located in Haokun Village. After exiting the highway, it's a ten-minute drive along a mountain road, including two steep downhill sections with sharp turns, which can be dangerous at night. There's an entrance fee to the village, but hotel guests are exempt from the entrance fee. After crossing a distinctive covered bridge, you'll see the hotel at the end of the lake. This hotel is arguably the best in Haokun Lake in terms of appearance, size, and facilities. Our room was spacious, with a nice view of the lake from the window. The only drawbacks were the steps around the sink and bathtub, and the slightly sunken bathroom floor. Although the hotel had marked the steps, it was still easy to slip and fall. The showerhead had a strong water pressure and was easy to use; the hairdryer and other amenities were good. The front desk staff were very friendly and attentive. Since there's no elevator, they carried our luggage up and down the stairs; any amenities we needed were promptly delivered to our room. Their service was commendable! When we visited, the hotel restaurant was under renovation, so only a simple breakfast was available. Dinner had to be found outside; there were several restaurants near the covered bridge, and the food was decent. Haokun Lake has beautiful scenery and clear, emerald-green water, but it is smaller than Quyang Lake. In winter, the water volume is not abundant enough, so the scenery is not as good as in summer."

We couldn't hear the renovations next door in the morning; we only realized they were happening when we went outside. The screenshots below are the most accurate representations I saw. "The first time I came to Baise to stay here, the experience was really bad. Originally, I booked a family room at high speed in the early morning, but I found that the whole building was not very ventilated. The room smelled of tide. The roof was simple iron. The decoration was made next to it. There were a lot of small flying insects in the room. The windows were not ventilated and the paint smell was very big. Helpless to find the front desk to make up the difference of 30 yuan and change to another loft room. There is no door in the bathroom, and there is no door for bathing. It is not suitable for multiple people. It is even more inappropriate to bring a baby. The sanitation is worse, the bath floor is yellow, the roof of the room is more disgusting, the spider webs are facing the top of the bed, and there are spiders crawling in the bathtub downstairs. If the child sleeps upstairs in the bed, the central air conditioner downstairs is not strong and can't be blown up at all. Sleeping upstairs is hot enough to fly. The quilt is really dirty or the thickness of winter. The bed board is too hard. The merchant is equipped with a fan. It is simply a face operation. The bed upstairs can be said to be a posing. The overall hygiene standard is not as good as an ordinary hotel. The whole family slept with mosquito-proof water and wind oil essence for one night, and it was a crime to bring the baby over during the summer vacation. None of the wifi in the store can be connected. The roof of the rainstorm at night is particularly noisy, and the window sill is still seeping. Clean and hygienic, the room is spacious, well equipped, parking is convenient, there is a mountain trail behind the hotel to go up to see the scenery, and there was a wedding convoy checking in on the day of check-in. It is more than 30 kilometers away from Haokun Lake, and it is convenient and quick to get to Haokun Lake. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, about 4-5 kilometers, but it's very quiet, so we all slept really well. We booked a superior twin room with a small balcony, which was great for drying clothes. The room itself was quite spacious, new, and quiet. It's a standard hotel, so you don't have to worry about cleanliness. There are washing machines on the 3rd floor, but only two, plus two dryers, so it can get busy. However, you can leave a note there to queue, and the staff will help bring your washed laundry back to you. Overall, it was a good stay. I forgot to take pictures of the hotel, so here are a few from Tongling Grand Canyon instead.

This was an absolutely wonderful and rejuvenating stay! The hotel is a chic Chinese-style courtyard. Upon entering, we were immediately captivated by the tranquil landscape pond, exuding a Zen-like serenity that instantly melted away our travel fatigue. What truly surprised us was the hotel's versatile offerings: there's a high-quality Western restaurant on the first floor, and a super stylish cafe tucked away on the fourth! Their afternoon tea is an absolute must-try – both the desserts and coffee were unexpectedly excellent. It's truly the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon. Our king-size room was equally satisfying. The bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, ensuring a dreamless and wonderfully restful night's sleep. The excellent soundproofing further guaranteed we had ample rest. Lastly, I must commend the front desk staff. From our initial booking inquiries to the check-in process, they were consistently warm, patient, and provided impeccable service, making us feel incredibly welcome. The lobby is beautiful, and the service from the staff member was very enthusiastic. The room was actually very clean; I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. The bed is wide and the bedding is comfortable. Everything is great, except for the slightly remote location. But you can see the mountains right from your bed, which is incredibly beautiful, really.

Compared with several scenic spots, their lake view room is facing the lake, and they can't see the ugly buildings of other homestays. You can immersively enjoy the natural scenery. The mountains opposite the lake are arranged neatly like a welcome team. The balcony is not wide but it is enough for two people to sit outside and watch the lake. The mirror outside the balcony window can't see the inside, protecting the privacy of the guests. The room is very new, the interior decoration is not bad, the hygiene is very clean and professional, there is no hair stains visible to the naked eye, no smell, and the network is not bad. There should be enough toilet covers, disposable towels, and hangers. It can be seen that the boss family is very careful to consider the guests. The per capita meal is also five or ten yuan more expensive than the outside. The salt and pepper lake shrimp and fried vegetables are delicious. It is estimated that they are in their vegetable garden. The boss is very nice, helping with luggage, introducing the surrounding play items, and it is refreshing without those extra sales.

I booked this for a friend who was visiting Jingxi. It was quiet and cool at night, and the price wasn't expensive. It might be more expensive during peak season, especially since it's in a tourist area. One thing I considered when booking was that breakfast was included, as we had a child and it might be inconvenient to go out for breakfast in the morning. Overall, I was very satisfied. (The only area for improvement, in my opinion, is the bed. The double bed we booked would have been better if it were wider and longer. A tall guy (around 1.8 meters) might not have slept well. I didn't stay there myself, just took a look, and the bed seemed a bit short, but it would be fine for a girl.)
