"I’ve stayed in many hostels before and understand you sometimes get what you pay for, but my stay at Wake Up! Sydney Central was disappointing. We booked a private room for three with a shared bathroom. The room had a strong “slept-in” smell which seemed to come from the actual pillows and bedding rather than the sheets. The shared bathrooms were also quite dirty, and during our five-day stay I only saw them cleaned once. The kitchen on the first floor is far too small for the number of guests. Fridges and cupboards were completely full, and with only a few cooktops, sinks and microwaves it’s very difficult to cook or find a place to eat. The hostel is very focused on partying, with events like pizza nights and free drinks in the kitchen area. It’s also quite noisy, with partying and heavy doors slamming day and night, so don’t expect much sleep. Considering how expensive Sydney is, this place still felt overpriced. The building is run down (cracked sinks), beds have thin mattresses, and we even saw a large cockroach one day. Staff simply said, “this is Australia.” There’s also no ramp at the entrance, so heavy luggage has to be carried up the stairs. The only real positive is the great location."

"The room was quite small and lacked amenities. I had to go to the laundry room to get a hairdryer. It's very close to Sydney's domestic airport, about a 15-minute walk. If you're heading to the international airport, you can walk to the domestic terminal first and then take the free shuttle bus. The 24-hour front desk was a plus, and it was great that no deposit was required for check-in."

"Our stay at Holiday Inn Express Sydney Airport was excellent from start to finish. The rooms were very clean, modern, and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day of travel. The location is very convenient, especially for airport access and nearby transport options. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help with a smile, which made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The amenities were well-maintained, and everything we needed was readily available. Breakfast was a great bonus—simple, fresh, and a perfect way to start the day. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and great service."

"Located perfectly in the city centre of Sydney it was the perfect place to stay. The bed was comfortable and the capsule design lets you have some degree of privacy while still saving money. Would stay here again definitely."

"This hotel offers an exceptionally comfortable sleep experience! What's fantastic is that the room is free from any allergenic odors and light that could disturb sleep. The bedding is comfortable, and the temperature is just right for a good night's rest. In terms of sleep quality, it's among the top hotels I've stayed at, even compared to many ultra-luxury 5-star properties. The room type is very spacious, and it comes with a sofa bed, which is great for families with children. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the city center, and within short walking distance to the Opera House and the wharf. The service is impeccable and faultless. The only minor drawback is that the restaurant breakfast is quite mediocre. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Sydney."

"I booked this room purely for the views and to explore the Darling Harbour area. The location is about a 10-minute walk from Circular Quay, and it's a bit tiring with some uphill and downhill sections. It's not as convenient as the Four Seasons, but it's right next door, so there isn't a huge difference. The hotel decor is a bit dated, but fortunately, the service is great, and the front desk staff are very welcoming. The in-room dining options are quite palatable for Chinese tastes."

"Excellent experience for my parents to stay at Fullerton. Although the amenities are a bit outdated, but the view out of the window is perfect. The room is always clean and tidy. All the staffs are nice, efficiently & professionally. Location of Fullerton is pretty good & convenient for Sydney CBD tourism. Walking distance to each landmark. Highly recommend."

"The hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable – you can see it right from Central Station, and it's right next to Chinatown. QVB and Hyde Park are also within walking distance. However, this hotel is quite old. The first room we were given on the fifth floor was tiny and dark, with white fuzz and mold all over the air vents. The shower facilities were old and the water temperature kept fluctuating. Luckily, they moved us to a room on the eighth floor, which was much cleaner. It feels like the higher floors have fewer rooms and guests, making them more suitable for a stay. If you have high standards for cleanliness and environment, definitely avoid the lower floors."

"The room was tiny and had no windows. What's worse, the window shown in the WeChat ad was clearly photoshopped! Each room has a skylight, similar to those found in an aviary, and it can't be closed. So, when the sun comes up, the room gets incredibly bright. However, the room itself was quite tastefully decorated, and the location is great. There's a fantastic and affordable Chinese restaurant called Jinji right across the street, and it's only a 3-minute walk to the subway. The key highlight for me, as someone who drives, is the free parking. There's a bar downstairs and guest rooms on the second floor."

"I chose this hotel because I had an early flight the next morning and it was the closest to the airport. I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and clean the room was. I had a lot of luggage, and there were trolleys downstairs which was super convenient. It's only a 5-minute walk to the international terminal! Highly recommend!"
