"I came from the Snow Monkey Park Senjukaku and took a bus to Okushiga Plateau at the bus station for about 40 minutes. It drove all the way into the depths of the mountains. In the middle, I passed the mountain station where there was a cable car for sightseeing. As I walked further, I saw some dilapidated hotels. I was very worried, but when I reached the end, I could see the hotel. It was in good business condition. I booked a top-floor room with an area of 42 square meters. It was sunny and had a mountain view. The room pictures had not been updated, but it had actually been renovated. It was very comfortable and exceeded my expectations. The entire hotel has more than 30 rooms, 6 of which are on the top floor, with the best view. There is a hot spring on the 4th floor. There is no business or convenience store here. It is recommended to book a plan that includes breakfast and dinner, which is very cost-effective. There are 2 restaurants, one Italian and one Japanese, as well as Chinese. I recommend the Italian one, which has a strong sense of ritual and is very well done for the price. The Japanese dinner on the second day was just average. The hot pot had two choices of pork and fish. Fortunately, the seasoning was sour and salty, not sweet. Breakfast was an Italian buffet, and the Japanese set menu. I chose the same buffet breakfast both days, and it was delicious. The hotel is primarily for skiing, with ski-in, ski-out access. It's right next to the cable car station, perfect for escaping the summer heat. The end of September is off-season, so there aren't many tourists, mostly Japanese. The clientele was very nice and quiet, and I felt like I was the only one there. I highly recommend the hotel's stream hike, which was 200 RMB a great value. I was the only one there that afternoon, and the staff, Mr. Nakayama, was excellent. We drove to the hiking spot, then walked along a primitive forest path, not recommended for those with limited mobility. We saw two waterfalls, but the undeveloped path was scary walking alone. If you don't have cell service, you'll need a guide. The ride back to the hotel took two and a half hours, and I highly recommend it. There's also an uphill hiking trail next to the hotel, great for all ages. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to and from Nagano Station, but reservations are required. It stops at bus stop number 30. The journey from the hotel to Nagano takes an hour and a half, and the minivan and the many turns downhill can make it easy to get carsick. The downside is that the bathroom is brand new, but my room smelled a bit like horse manure. In summary, although it is deep in the mountains, it is comfortable and good to live in. I recommend it."
