Lou Calen

"Lou Calen is built in and around substantial gardens on sloping land close to the centre of Cotignac. It mainly takes advantage of existing buildings, but has also developed some new rooms in sympathetic styling. The views from the gardens and from some of the rooms are delightful - across to the well-known caves and cliffs in one direction, over the countryside and village in others. The gardens contain a pool for adults (14 plus), a separate pool and play area for children and a tennis court - but there is still plenty of room to wander and find space. The restaurant had (in April; it may be different in high season) very high standards of cuisine with a fairly limited choice of dishes - two for each course. Some work was continuing when we were there at the bottom of the property - we were given an upgraded room at the top of the gardens and the work was never an interference or problem for us or for other guests. Staff were very friendly. The room we were given, a suite, was outstanding. We would have no hesitation in recommending Lou Calen. We stayed for 3 nights as part of a driving holiday in Provence."

La Falaise Hotel ★★★

"What a terrible experience! This hotel aspires to be the exact opposite of welcoming. We arrived today, only to learn that we needed to download an app in order to check in. The app is poorly engineered, needed several tries, but eventually it onboarded us. It then required a phone number for access, so we had to pay $10 to turn on our US phones for the security code. The app unlocked the hotel door and our individual rooms—zero humans onsite and no help with luggage. Then we’re in our rooms, where we were greeted with a QR code that linked to a site with more info, including the wifi access link—which we couldn’t access because (duh) we weren’t connected to the Internet. (What are these people thinking?! ) Our rooms are functional and well enough equipped, nothing particularly warm about them. Housekeeping is only every 3-4 days, and replacement towels cost €5. No robes provided. The hotel is on somewhat of a thoroughfare, so it’s noisy, even at night. We love Cotignac. That’s the good part."

"Ήρθαμε στην Προβένσια για να χαλαρώσουμε και να ανανεώσουμε... επιλέγαμε το τέλειο μέρος στο Λε Μας ντε Κότινακ... ο Ντένις και η Σύλβια είναι οι τελικοί οικοδεσπότες... και η Σύλβια φροντίζει τόσο ωραία τα αξιαγάπητα δωμάτια και τους κήπους. Προσέχει κάθε λεπτομέρεια, ακριβώς κάτω από το φρέσκο σύκα που μας περιμένει όταν μπαίνουμε μέσα - στον παράδεισο! Οι τόποι είναι απίστευτα ειρηνικοί - τόσοι πολλοί χώροι χαλάρωσης για να καθίσουν και να λουφάρουν τον ήλιο της Προβέννης. Η Σύλβια μεγαλώνει πολύ από όσα ο Σεφ Ντένις ετοιμάζει για πρωινό και δείπνο - μπορείτε να δοκιμάσετε το φρέσκο! Ο Ντένις είναι καταπληκτικός σεφ. Κανένα άλλο εστιατόριο δεν πλησιάζει τις νόστιμες δημιουργίες του. Είναι γιορτή για τις αισθήσεις, το βάθος και τα στρώματα της γεύσης και η εκπληκτική παρουσίαση είναι ανισόρροπη. Το καλύτερο μέρος της διαμονής μας; Το γλυκό ζευγάρι που φιληθήκαμε και το αστείο και ζεστό Ντένις και Σύλβια. Δεν μπορούμε να περιμένουμε να γυρίσουμε ❤️ Merci beacup! * Cotignac είναι μια τέλεια βάση για να διερευνήσουμε την περιοχή Var.
