"We stayed here for two nights to visit the castle and national trust gardens. The town is small so the hotel is within distance to the train station and to the castle. Room is fine although lighting is slightly dim. We requested an extra lamp that was promptly provided. Breakfast was typical English breakfast served in a very nice historical part of the hotel. The toiletries provided in the bathroom were very good quality and smells lovely. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay."

My Way Guest House
"The room was spotless and nicely furnished with THE comfiest bed! The bathroom was large and there were copious fluffy white towels (but no bathrobes as described). The views were tremendous and it was really close to Durham. The lounge area was lovely and accessible all the time. But…the breakfast was self-service continental style and we (and the other couple staying) loaded and put on the dishwasher which we’ve never done in a B&B before! The bedroom is within a conservatory and it was sooo hot. On our final night we asked for a fan as we couldn’t get a breeze from the window as the conservatory door was closed at night. The fan made for a better night’s sleep and I would suggest that the rooms have one in there permanently. On the confirmation email it did say that guest rooms were not guaranteed noise free. Maybe a touch of an understatement! We could hear the man next door having a good old yawn and if we weren’t talking ourselves, we could hear their conversations. Eeeek. It was a lovely location but I did think it was expensive. We used our Christmas present BuyAGift ‘2 night luxury stay’ vouchers and as we stayed a 3rd night, we paid the difference which was £230! Ouch."

"We stayed at Church View Guest House for 2 nights and what a good choice it was. Arrived before 4pm check in time but were not able to gain access. Returned at 4pm and this time the door was answered by a gentleman who didn’t introduce himself (looked more surprised if anything). The room was excellent and very clean, my only bug bear is that the bathroom door should have a hook to hang dressing gowns which are provided. Breakfast was excellent cooked by a lovely young man called Marcel who couldn’t do enough and was very helpful. Will definitely stay here again if I visit Durham again."

He walked us to the adjoining restaurant, sorted out our meal deal and, when we were eating, he made up the room and even took our cases to the room. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. All was hot and tasty. The staff were helpful and kind."

Καλή επικοινωνία πριν την άφιξη. Κρεβατοκάμαρα, μεγάλο βροχερό ντους, πλυντήριο πιάτων και μικροκυμάτων. Ωραίο μικρό αγγίζει σαν ένα λίτρο γάλα στο ψυγείο, πιπεριά και λάδι στο ντουλάπι. Ευκολό πάρκινγκ έξω. Καθαρό και προσεκτικά. Αξίζει σίγουρα τα λεφτά και την όμορφη τοποθεσία του χωριού."
