Stayed here with family while visiting Chessington theme park. The hotel is located in nice quite part with beautiful views. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. Staff recognised my membership status and explained all benefits. The room had few stains but overall was comfortable. Note the place has no restaurant or anything at walking distance but few local places offer delivery. Breakfast was unfortunately a bit letdown for us 2 days in a row as the hash browns were cold and croissants not warm! Being vegetarian that were the options I went for as didn’t have much choice. Thankfully good coffee machine so had lovely cappuccino. I will however stay again more for the great staff and the location of the hotel.

Attended here 24/9 for a family wedding. After some initial planning issues due to multiple staff changes the wedding event ran very smoothly. The planner, Charlotte and the M/C, Chris were excellent and could not have done more to keep the whole event on track. The wedding took place in the Tithe Barn which transformed from official venue to dining room to dance floor seamlessly. The transition was helped by the perfect weather which meant guests could linger in the spacious gardens whilst the staff did their thing. Food was well prepared and even the minor issue of incorrect dishes to specific individuals was quickly rectified. Waiting staff were very extremely pleasant and affable whilst also being efficient. Buffet style breakfast the following morning with a good selection of hot or cold foods to select from. Lower levels of this building have benefitted from being totally refurbished following some severe flooding and this gives the hotel a really sleek and modern initial appearance. However, once you climb the stairs to the bedrooms all that changes. Whilst there was nothing specific that meant I had to complain the upper levels are really tired. The décor is dated and although clean could really do with updating. The windows are single glazed, timber framed so must ship heat to the outside world by the bucket load. The hot water in the sink took an eternity to heat and even then was only mildly warm. We, and other guests in our party, had multiple failures of the room key cards which meant having to trek all the way back down to reception to get the issue sorted. Yes, these are very first world issues but this is not a cheap hotel, it's run by a major international group and should be better. My advice, by all means book for a meeting, party, wedding or similar function but don't book over night rooms. It really was like visiting two separate venues on the one site.

The team here are so lovely and friendly! I was only staying for one night in Leatherhead for work and they really made so much effort to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I had a couple of presentations in the evening that I admitted to Joanna on reception I was quite nervous about and she wished me the best of luck and even checked in on how they went the next morning when I went down for breakfast. Her colleague Petia was also lovely and super helpful. I think it’s these small interactions that can make all the difference and I was impressed.

I don’t stay at Travelodge as often, but when I do, I definitely try and stay at this one with my wife. She’s a big fan of Travelodge service as they always have the greatest dinner and the freshest Pizza. Drinks are always a reasonable price and there is nothing to complain about

After living in London for 5 days, I decided to go to Kingston for a day before returning to the country. I got off at Surbiton Station and across the road was the hotel. Special praise for dining, breakfast choices are better than many four-star hotels in London. There is also a discount of happy hour from 5 to 8 in the evening. The sommelier service is very attentive and polite, and the standard of food is quite good. In short, very high cost performance.

If you're looking for a hotel to visit London, this is not the one. To give you an idea : Piccadilly Circus is about 1.5 hours to walk and about 45 minutes by taxi (expensive) and, if you're lucky, about the same by public transport (a mixture of walking, bus and tube... and a pain!) That said, if you need a hotel in this particlar area – which is actually nearer to Fulham than Sloane Square, then you could do much worse. The welcome was genuinely warm and we were made to feel appreciated. Despite checking in the previous day via the Hilton app., no room could be allocated, so we had to check in again at the front desk. The check in staff was charming and efficient and her trainee status was not evident. Our 6th floor room, well away from the renovation noise on the 1st floor felt, however, like a downgrade from the 'Queen' room we'd booked, as it had a double bed in it (150cm) – like Hampton Inns, which Hilton class as 2 categories below Doubletree. For Diamond members – who can expect room upgrades “up to a one bedroom suite” - this could be a disappointment. Queen beds are usually 160cm, doubles 150cm. If this hotel is selling doubles as queens, then I personally think this is a bit naughty of them. Also, despite the hotel stating that their 1st floor renovation work does not start before 9 a.m., they do not mention that the massive building project which half-encircles the hotel, starts well before this time and is constant throughout the day and, by the look of things, is destined to last for a long time yet. The room was clean, the bed comfortable although narrow and, apart from a few stains, the room was adequat for a one or two night stay. I wouldn't like to stay longer, as the bathroom is even smaller than a Hampton Inn – there's nowhere to put a toilet bag and nowhere to hang used towels. The shower unit is the same style as in Hamptons but much smaller than most. The toilet seat was loose and so was 'interesting' when using it, several plug sockets in the room did not work and the a/c and TV turned themseves off several times during our stay. Otherwise the room was well designed, with enough mirrors, work surface, chair, safe etc. and fridge that gets things cold enough – if you are willing to wait about 18 hours, that is! Don't expect a good sleep – the doors are not sound-proofed and are paper-thin. Room doors are also constantly 'banging' shut due to the spring mechanism. The lobby bar is well stocked but has slighly frightening prices. We didn't try the restaurant – choosing a Middle-Eastern restaurant 5 minutes' walk away – but the food we saw looked to be well-presented and seemed to be of the fast food type. The breakfast was, to be totally frank, extremely disappointing. The quality was good but the choice was extremely poor for a Doubletree and, in comparison to the maybe 30 or 40 Doubletrees I've stayed in, is by far the worst breakfast 'spread' I've seen to date. Was greated with a smile everything explained to us like facilities and meal times, was offered a ground or higher room which was clean and quiet breakfast was tasty and lots on offer something for everyone can't wait to stay again

I have been staying here for over 3 weeks with work and I couldn't be happier with the staff, they are helpful, Friendly and attentive. Fiona and Sammy deserve recognition from a truly amazing team. The rooms are are spacious and equipped with all you need, any further requests will be happily addressed by the staff.

The staff and the service: totally incredible. The food was average at best, and there weren't many amenities, but it was located very close to 2 train lines which was extremely convenient. If you aren't planning to spend much time in your room, it's a great staging area for heading into London, going to and from the airport, or getting anywhere you need to. Priced right, especially for what you're getting. I would recommend it to friends and I would stay there again myself.

I stayed here a couple of times but the last time was the last! I booked in and paid in advance then on the day, I checked in and offered my photo ID as I had done previously and it had been accepted before, however on this occasion I was refused check-in as they had now decided only a passport would be acceptable which I didn’t have. The unhelpful staff and then the manager offered no solution and just shrugged and said “nothing we can do”. It should again be noted that my photo ID was acceptable before but not now – it should also be noted that the confirmation email only requested “photo ID” which I provided. No specific ID was asked for. So it seems this hotel makes up the terms and condition s as they go and seemingly change them when they feel like it! The room had been paid for so there was no chance of my running off without paying. After some time I finally resolved this by my husband racing home and emailing a copy of the passport which was grudgingly accepted otherwise my I was looking at nowhere to stay after an early, start at 4 a.m., a very long day then finally the hopeless staff at this place refusing entry to a customer who had paid way in advance causing a lot of stress! The receptionist told me they needed the passport to verify the address – however my address is not in the passport so this is a bit confusing. The manager confirmed this as well as confirming no entry and no help. This is really terrible service as they could have easily verified the address with other documents I had but this was not accepted – my ID clearly showed me as senior management at a local large organisation but the staff were unhelpful and seemed totally disinterested that I would have nowhere to stay – this part of London gets booked quickly hence my booking way in advance so the likelihood of getting a room somewhere else was very remote. It would have been simple to verify me but the staff were more interested in being difficult. So my feeling is the staff had maybe screwed up with another customer and had decided to ad hoc changes to the terms leaving me almost stranded. It could also have been a method of releasing a room for someone else – maybe a friend of the hotel. Who knows but I would be very careful using this place as they seem to have some very dubious and “flexible” terms for staying here and you may get caught out. I will never book here again and as a vice president of a large global organisation that hosts many international clients, I would certainly not recommend this place. It's short sighted of this hotel to be so unhelpful as they will have lost business but their lack of help displays a clear lack of interest in the customer. Please book here if you are happy to risk sleeping on the park bench instead of a hotel room!
