"We stayed for 2 nights across the weekend and our overall impressions are as follows: Firstly, the lady behind the “check-in desk” was somewhat terse, unsmiling and gave the impression she didn’t want to be there. No matter. Parking to the rear of the hotel is available @ €5/day. No biggie. V. handy. Room itself was OK, not anything to write home about but adequate. The use of room air conditioning was a godsend seeing as the temperatures in Goslar when we stayed were the high 20oC into the low 30oC ! Not a regular event, I’m sure! Nice, large flatscreen Panasonic TV in the room. Bathroom had been recently renovated. One matter that should be addressed is the lack of a slip mat in the shower. Once soap was on the base, it was like a skating rink. I can foresee an accident occurring. Needs addressing. Breakfast was good in general with a decent choice of typical German breakfast fare e.g. cold cuts and cheeses with salad stuff. On our last morning the hot option - scrambled eggs, bacon, browns etc were not hot at all; nearly cold in fact. The coffee machine was excellent, dispensing decent tasting coffee! The various “fresh juices” seemed watered down a bit and weren’t cold. Perhaps they should have swapped places with the eggs and bacon! Check out took 1 minute as everything was paid up front. In summary then, a 3 star hotel I guess, nice garden to the rear but no lift, so if you have walking difficulties then it might not be for you. I don’t want to appear negative, so I’ll end on an important positive note. The location means that the centre of the city is easily accessible by foot, as are most of the interesting visitor locations. Goslar is a jewel of a city and you won’t be disappointed with your visit. Would I stay at Kaiserhof again..? Maybe…."

"A special 5-star highlight is applied to the very friendly kitchen and service team in the dining room. Otherwise, the "Hotel has its best years behind" is more true and the total 5 stars, which are partially overwhelming, are not understood. The (partially used) Orange tape floor on the hall and rooms makes one into a time trip to the 1970s. However, worse is that at -5 outdoor temperature at the beginning of February the rooms were not warm. Discussions at breakfast table with other guests confirmed that this is probably the case. The rooms were spacious and clean as you can expect at a 3-star hotel, but the trained hotel lobby could not be invited to stay for a longer time. Similarly, in the fast-stolen kamin bar (without kamin) there was no "sensory climate". Whoever found a kippsicher chair in the small library was better there. Also a kicker and a billiard table offers only conditional possibility for sports evenings Activities. Breakfast and evening buffet were varied and sufficient. Also there was enough room offer. Unfortunately, you have to leave the dining room at 20:00 and have just conditional alternatives in the house and in the "village" there are no alternatives. The swimming pool only limited to time has no relaxing linen and the sauna charges are not just inviting. In particular in bad weather days would be useful change here. Unfortunately we had 4 days dense high nebula and were therefore more on the way in the region. The good parking offer at the hotel is still worth mentioning. At least at cold temperatures, you should consider whether the AI offer really fits in the sum."
