4 Monate nach unserer letzten Tour Anfang Februar waren wir jetzt zu Pfingsten wieder im Schanzenhaus. Die Begrüßung bei der Ankunft am Morgen war mehr als freundlich. Der Check Inn wurde schon durchgeführt, obwohl die Zimmer erst ab 15.00 Uhr bezugsfertig sind. Am Abend haben wir unser schönes und saubere Zimmer mit Blick auf das Schloss bezogen. Es wurden einige positive Änderungen vorgenommen. Glückwunsch! Das Frühstück an allen Tagen war wieder sehr schmackhaft aufgebaut und reichlich. Ständige Kontrollen durch das Personal und den Koch, ob alle Speisen ausreichend vorrätig waren. Über die Feiertage wurde jeweils ein anderes Büfett angeboten. Wir hatten uns für Samstag- und Sonntagabend zum Essen angemeldet. Alles reichlich und alles sehr lecker zubereitet. Auch die Nachspeisen waren sehr lecker. Ein großes Dankeschön an den Chefkoch und seinem Team. Insgesamt sagen wir, es war ein schönes Pfingstwochenende. Leider zu kurz. Danke Euch allen. Wir sehen uns spätestens zum 2. Advent 2022 wieder. Very efficient check in for a pre-booked stay with helpful English speaking staff. The room was very comfortable although there was a small gap in between the twin beds put together to form a double. The swimming pool and sauna area was very clean and a real plus point. Breakfast was very good but the toaster could be bigger and better placed. Check out was also very efficient.

We arrived yesterday, and the hotel has met and exceeded our expectations. First, the staff are amazing. Polite, freindly, well informed and good English. We were given a map and shown the best routes to various sites. The recommended restaurant was excellent amd am experience in itself. 5 stars to all! Secondly, the room met our needs perfectly, with a bedroom on the upper level and the sofa bed set up and ready for the second sleeper. The beds, pilliw and linens were very comfy. The balcony with table and chairs was an added bonus. Thirdly, the elegant and modern bathroom was top notch, from the toilet paper to the makeup mirror. The shower had good pressure, enough hot water and plenty of towels, I am now enjoying a very, very delicious latte and juice on the sunny terrace, as I decide on the breakfast choices from the buffet. Highly recommended and very glad we are booked for a second night!

Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes, großzügiges Einzelzimmer! Auch das Badezimmer außergewöhnlich geräumig. Das Bett sehr breit mit angenehm härterer Matratze. Die Dusche mit wohltuender Strahlstärke und gleichbleibender Temperatur. Das Frühstücksbuffet in Ordnung. Ich habe eine andere Ernährungsform, da ist es immer etwas schwerer. Zimmer lag zur Straße und zum Bahnhof hin und ist deshalb nur für Frühaufsteher (Straßenreinigung und lautstarkes Mülleimer leeren sonntags um 7 Uhr) und für Leute mit festem Schlaf (Zugverkehr und laute Taxifahrer) geeignet.

Was meine ich damit? - Putz der auf Kofferhöhe aus den Gangwänden fällt - im Kühlschrank auf den Zimmern vom Vornutzer vergessen und nicht entsorgte Lebensmittel und Getränke - im besten Fall ein nur lauwarm aufgewärmtes TK Frühstück mit 90er Jugendherbergecharme - ein Spabereich in dem die Saunen nicht laufen, und seit 25 Jahren nicht mehr ein Euro investiert worden - Türen die nicht richtig schließen - unfreundliche Zimmerdamen, die einen quasi aus dem Zimmer schmeißen - Hundeurin Flecken in den Fluren ( ich weiß es weil unser gut erzogener Hund sich magisch von den Pfützen angezogen fühlte) - Der Blick aus dem Fenster erinnert eher aufgrund der notdürftig verlegten Dachpappe an Kabul oder ein Favela - Ausgebrochene 80er Waschbeton Treppenstufen vor dem Hotel, Vorsicht man kann leicht stürzen - Eine brutale überhitztes Zimmer, bei dem man die Temperaturen nicht runterregeln kann - eine unglaublich unfähige, unfreundliche und dabei noch dreiste Rezeptionistin die erst die Rechnungsumstellung nicht bewerkstelligt bekam und dann für die von ihr verursachten Verzögerung 100€ Late Check Up berechnete - das hat das Fass zum Überlaufen gebraucht. Keine schöne Erfahrung für uns. Fazit: Selten so eine Abzockbude gesehen und dazu mit noch das unfähiges und unfreundliches Personal. So muss der Eingangsbereich der Hölle aussehen… eine absolute Katastrophe, bitte das Hotel meiden, einer der wenigen Ort wo ein Atomschlag eine signifikante Verbesserung wäre…

We already reserved a hotel room for one night at the above branch through the official website on the day of July 06, 2020 and arrived there on July 09, 2020 at around 9:30 a.m. to check in and at least drop off our luggage and find out about the to inform the city. However, the receptionist informed us that she could neither check us in nor accept our luggage, let alone use the toilet in front of the reception. According to her statement, we have to understand that all this is due to the limited opening hours, which however were not mentioned anywhere on the website and booking confirmation of the above hotel. She confirmed this missing information (as of 10:00 on the same day). We were therefore in vain on the way from Braunschweig's main train station to the hotel and had to lose time and travel costs unnecessarily. The receptionist mentioned also said that we had only reserved the room but not yet paid the fee and that the reservation was only valid from 2 p.m. Therefore, we would not yet be hotel guests and would not officially have permission to stay in the entrance area and check-in would also only be possible at 2 p.m. So we didn't get a city map - until we asked them for this - nor did we get any further, alternative information about our extremely helpless situation and information about where authentic restaurants in the city are located. We understand that the Corona pandemic will result in some changes in hotel operations; however, we would have wished, as a guest in the B&B hotel, to experience more understanding, courtesy and hospitality on our trip, as we already knew from another B&B branch in Göttingen, for example.
