"Getting to Gora Station from Shinjuku via the Odakyu Line was easy, even with a transfer. The hotel is super convenient, just a 2-minute walk from Gora Station, and the cable car is also right there. The room was spacious with two beds, and they even provided snacks. Dinner was delicious and plentiful, and the onsen was wonderfully relaxing with perfectly hot water. Highly recommended!"

"Our experience staying in Hakone was perfect! We stayed at the Tensein in Hakone-Yumoto, an easy location to take the bus, car or train to some popular tourist attractions in the area. The check in itself was rather slow but the staff do their best to speak good English and discuss every detail about your stay with you. The room had everything we needed, the shampoo and conditioners provided was wonderful and there was a variety of products to use. On check in, the private onsen was given at 50% discount at 1,100 Japanese yen per use, we got 2 vouchers so used it 2 times (as we have tattoos we could not go into the public onsen). On check in you have to collect your towel and your choice of Yukata (traditional Japanese robe) which you’re welcomed and encouraged to wear around the hotel and gardens. The hotel is strictly no shoes, so upon arrival you leave your shoes in a locked box and keep the key. If you wish to walk around the beautiful gardens, there are slider type shoes available to slip on, as well as umbrellas to use if it’s raining. Outside they have a onsen for your feet to enjoy with a drink. All of the food and drink (apart from breakfast which was included) was put on our bill at the end. There was a wide selection of drinks, nibbles and food available for dinner and lunches at the dining room and there was a large buffet dining room for buffet breakfast and dinner (if you booked it). The hotel is just a short 10 minute walk to the town and 15 minute walk to the Hakone-Yumoto station. Visiting Mt Fuji is easy, with a bus ‘H’ running from stand 2 opposite the Hakone -Yumoto station. Get off at ‘Motohakone’. From there, you can take another bus and a train to get you to another town ‘Gora’ and surrounding attractions to enjoy."

"Fantastic location next to Gora Station with easy access to Gotemba premium outlets via bus& Cablecar to Lake Ashi. Kaiseki breakfast and dinners were thoughtfully planned and different each meal. So many free snacks and food at different timings. Private outdoor onsen was wonderful as well. Note: you have to queue for any of the 3 huts. Only thing we didn’t like was having to shower outdoors and the dated toto bidet. Other than that, perfect 2 night stay at Hakone."

"Location is good. Need to walk about 6 mins from the station. nice view from the window. Onsen is quite good, hot water, bubble tube, big outdoor tube. Food is so much delicious, a lot of plates with different dishes. But not all japanese cuisine, more kind of mixed. But still realy good. Thanks for the stay, we’ll definetly book again, when return!"

"This Hakone hotel is a tranquil lakeside retreat. Despite being over 100 years old, it shows no signs of its age. The front desk staff were courteous and welcoming. The bedding and towels in the rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast was a delightful experience, with fresh ingredients and a wide variety of both Japanese and Western dishes, ensuring a great start to the day. The hot spring bath, though not large, was clean and cozy. Stepping out of the side door of the restaurant, you're greeted by an open lawn, and directly ahead, the shimmering Lake Ashi, with its harbor full of sightseeing boats and small motorboats. Enjoying a rich coffee while sitting by the lake, feeling the cool breeze, was incredibly pleasant and relaxing. This stay left us with wonderful memories, and we've already promised ourselves a return visit."

"Excellent experience we received in this Osen Ryokan. It was probably the most memorable experience in our honeymoon trip. We arrived there in a heavy rainy day. It was cold and we were extremely tired. Staff members were giving us big welcome and help. Most of them can speak Japanese and English so don’t worry on the language issue. The room was spacious and comfortable. The open air bath in room was awesome. We really enjoyed the time with it. The meals were great as expected. In between the meals they also served the refreshment which was remarkable. Must try."

"It is one of the accommodations that I really like. Even though the view from the room may not be magnificent, but the food, the room and service are very good, the accommodation is not very big. Have quiet And very private The hot spring room is big and clean. Overall, I am very impressed."

"I booked a private hot spring room, 800 a night for a twin bed. The surroundings are really nice, and the air is fresh. The front desk offers complimentary drinks and an ice machine. The only, *only* downside is that the bottom part of the private hot spring's door frame is corroded by water, but it doesn't affect the stay. I hope the hotel gets it fixed soon. After booking, they immediately sent a confirmation and followed up with multiple email reminders and notifications, which was very thoughtful. There's a bus stop right next door. The only other minor inconvenience is that the nearest convenience store is a bit far, but the hotel also has vending machines and a restaurant, so you generally don't need to go to a convenience store. It's well-suited for those traveling by chartered car or in groups. The room is also very spacious. Overall, it was a great experience."

"Traditional style; we booked a room with private outdoor onsen. We tried both private onsen and communal onsen but honestly the water in communal ones was hotter, if you don’t mind sharing the onsen with others. The dinner set and breakfast set were excellent! The room and common facilities were clean and tidy, and I don’t feel they were worn. Although the staff (the receptionist) might not be good in English speaking, they tried their best and used mobile app translator to explain to us patiently the rules and arrangements for our stay. For us, the price is reasonable with such high quality of service and facilities!"
