"This hostel in Yining is a hidden gem! With a balcony room and heartwarming service, I could stay for ten days and still not want to leave.
I stayed at Backpackers 10 Years Hostel, right by Yining Railway Station, for almost ten days, and the experience was incredible! I have to recommend my favorite room – it comes with a small balcony. In the mornings, I'd curl up in a chair, soaking in the sun and reading. In the afternoons, I'd simply relax in the warm light. It was so gentle and therapeutic, making for an incredibly relaxing stay.
The hostel environment also exceeded my expectations: the rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. The ground floor common area was fully equipped with billiards, table tennis, and a reading nook, making leisure and entertainment super convenient. What touched me the most was the human touch! I sprained my ankle hiking (unrelated to the hostel), and the front desk, owner, and customer service staff were all incredibly kind. They actively checked in on me, brought hot water, and even gave me safflower oil. The hostel's dog also quietly stayed by my side. The kindness I received in a foreign land was truly moving.
The location is close to the train station, making travel convenient. The cleanliness, service, and value for money were all top-notch. This place doesn't feel like a hostel; it's more like a warm little harbor. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yining! Highly recommended! ❤️"

Yining Kailash Youth Hostel (Liuxing Street Branch) is a youth hostel full of travel atmosphere, located in the Liuxing Street area of Yining City. "The wind chime jingled as I pushed open the door.
The front desk attendant looked up, smiled, and said, ”You're here.” It was as if she knew I was coming and had been waiting for me for a long time.
Soft music played in the lobby. Someone was reading by the window, another person was napping with the sunlight warming their back.
**Cleanliness:** The bedsheets smelled of laundry detergent, not that stuffy disinfectant smell. The corners were swept impeccably clean, and there were no water stains in the bathroom. I'm a bit of a clean freak, but I slept soundly here. When I came back at night, the auntie had already mopped the common areas again, the floor still slightly glistening.
**Location:** It's in Liuxing Street, so Apple Alley is just a short walk away. To the left, there's Grandpa's baked buns, to the right, Grandma's ice cream, and across the street, Uncle's拌面 (mixed noodles) – all just a few steps away. In the evening, I took a stroll to the Alexander Accordion Museum, and on the way back, I bought two freshly baked, still-warm breads from the bakery. If I wanted coffee, it was convenient too, just around the corner.
**Service:** The front desk attendant poured me a hot tea and said, ”Take a rest first.” Knowing I was traveling alone, she even asked if I wanted to join them for a trip to the surroundings tomorrow. In the evening, a few guys were sharing a meal in the courtyard and invited me to eat with them, without even asking if I'd pay. This kind of natural warmth really touched my heart.
**Facilities:** The bed was large, and with the curtain pulled, it became my own little world. Each bed had an outlet and a lamp, so no fighting over them. The hot water was plentiful and had good pressure. The restaurant had a microwave and a water dispenser, so hot water was always available – so important for our Chinese stomachs! As for the atmosphere, everyone sat in the courtyard in the evening. Someone played the guitar, someone drank Wusu beer, and someone who had just returned from Mount Kailash shared stories of the snow and stars on the mountain. I just listened nearby, feeling that this was probably the meaning of travel – meeting people, hearing stories, and then continuing on your own path.
As I left, the wind chime jingled again. The front desk attendant was busy, but still looked up and said, ”Travel safely.” As if she knew I'd be back."

"It was my second time staying here, the place is beautiful and I met so many nice girls who I ended up hanging out with while I was in Yining. The Kazanqi area around the hostel is lovely, walking distance from great restaurants and shops. I was able to put things I the fridge and freezer and use the kitchen at the hostel. The courtyard and balcony are such nice places to sit and do work or eat there was also a puppy which was so cute!! The rooms were clean and comfortable, with cute decor and the toilet/shower room in the room is modern and clean. I definitely recommend!"

"My trip to Yining was a last-minute decision, so the accommodation booking was quite rushed. Initially, the photos looked good. Let's get straight to the pros and cons!
Pros: The price was reasonable, and the location on Liuxing Street is excellent. Although there's no elevator, the front desk staff were very helpful with luggage, and since it's not many floors up, climbing wasn't strenuous. There's a large terrace upstairs, which was very convenient for drying clothes. The water heater provided quick, strong water flow. Despite facing the street, it was surprisingly quiet.
Cons: The first room we were given had dirty bedsheets, and the drawers contained dust and hair. The owner attributed it to oil from a previous guest's takeout and promptly moved us to another room. It's baffling why a room, if not properly cleaned, would be offered to a new guest, regardless of the mess's origin. The bed in the new room was clean, and while there was still some dust in corners, it wasn't too bothersome. However, at night, I noticed the toilet paper dispenser was full of white powdery dust, which was quite off-putting.
The guesthouse itself is quite new, and the location is excellent. However, the owner seriously needs to get on top of the cleaning!"

This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling alone.
"It's great for a hostel, good design, seem like Japanese style, clean and tidy. I can't expect more about amenity for a hostel. It's also decorated for trekking guy and the host really good at this point. He spent 1 hour to help me make a plan for my coming trip."

"The best hostel in the city, i did 2 hostel in this city and this one is by far the best. The room is so nice with Xinjiang carpet i love it so much. The yard is big with everything as washing machine or kitchen, and a place for rest with a cute cat and a mulberry tree with free natural mulberry. The location is so nice close to the best place in Yining. All the girls at the reception are so nice and welcoming with a very good english. When i will comeback in the city i will book again this place without hesitation. I hope to see foreigners there in the future."

"A very good youth travel, just in the alley opposite Liuxing Street! The scenery in the yard is good~~ The living is also very comfortable, the bed three-piece self-service~ pretty good!
The Mijiti restaurant next to it is cheap and delicious, next time I go to Yining, I will go to this accommodation."
