"Facilities: The rooftop onsen area has three pools with brand-new facilities. It's very relaxing to soak in them, and after a bath, you can use the massage chairs or read manga. In the mornings, you can enjoy unlimited Yakult, and in the evenings, there are four kinds of ice cream available for free. Cleanliness: The room was spotless. The mini-fridge had three complimentary bottles of mineral water, three apples, and pudding. The room was cleaned very thoroughly. Ambiance: The hotel feels completely new. Coming here after checking out of the Prince Hotel felt like traveling from the millennium to the new century, haha. Service: Every evening at 9:30 PM, the hotel offers free all-you-can-eat ramen. It has the local specialty soy sauce broth, and honestly, it tastes almost identical to the famous Uoichi ramen we paid for. Self-check-in and check-out are very convenient. The hotel breakfast also includes Kushiro Robatayaki and self-made leftover rice, so you don't need to spend money eating out. It's excellent value for money. Location: The location is also fantastic, directly opposite the MOO shopping mall, just a five-minute walk. It's very convenient for taking the 'White Bus' and the airport shuttle."

"February 2026, Eastern Hokkaido – The Life I Dream Of~ We arrived at Akan Lake Onsen Town around 3 PM via the White Bus. Since La Vista is a bit further out, the White Bus drops off guests staying there at the Akan Lake Bus Center, from where guests then take the hotel shuttle. Among our fellow passengers, some had pre-arranged a 3:30 PM shuttle via email with the hotel, but despite craning their necks, the shuttle was nowhere in sight. So I called them, and they said it would be there in 5 minutes. That basically confirmed it for me: the La Vista shuttle won't come unless you call them… because the hotel is only a 5-minute drive from the bus center. The small van was completely full, and even though the road was covered in ice and snow, the driver's skills were quick, accurate, and steady, getting us to the hotel swiftly. Check-in was a bit slow, but I wasn't in a rush. I took my time to admire the floor-to-ceiling windows and the view outside – a lake, trees, snow, and small animals, all quiet and beautiful. The lobby, though not large, was decorated warmly and comfortably. After 5 PM, they offer complimentary drinks and snacks here. Our room was spacious with an amazing view. Sitting quietly by the window, watching the snowflakes fall, I wished time would slow down even more. The atmosphere at La Vista is truly romantic~ The bathroom also offered direct views of the outside scenery. The room's facilities, layout, and amenities were all excellent, with comfortable colors and a novel, super spacious style. La Vista has three private onsen baths, no reservations needed – you can just enter if it's not occupied. The Free Lounge offers a variety of complimentary beverages. Perhaps it's because La Vista is a bit more secluded that it can create such a wonderful environment and ambiance. For those who haven't booked the buffet, make sure to stock up on food in advance, as it's pretty much wilderness around here. Aside from a slight complaint about the shuttle, I was very satisfied with the hotel's facilities and environment. If I have the chance, I'd love to spend 2-3 days here immersing myself in it – it would surely help me forget a lot of worries."

"While the rooms were a bit small, the hotel boasts an excellent location right by the river, adjacent to Nusamai Bridge. Just two blocks away, the evenings come alive as a vibrant food and entertainment district. The hotel's public bath was impressively large, featuring a sauna and an open-air rotenburo. A fantastic bonus was the big screen TV in the rotenburo! Breakfast options were limited, but the food was delicious. Kushiro Station is a mere 10-minute walk away, and MOO Pier is even closer, just 5 minutes on foot. Overall, the convenience was outstanding!"

"The room is comfortable and the service is good. Although the hot spring pool is divided into male and female time periods, the hotel provides free drinks and alcoholic beverages that are very good, and the breakfast items are very rich, and the experience is very good!"

"The hotel's location is excellent; it's a two-minute walk straight ahead after turning left from the JR station. There's a bus stop and a sightseeing bus pick-up point right outside the entrance. It's also just over a ten-minute walk to Nusamai Bridge. The hotel breakfast is delicious, and there are complimentary alcoholic beverages and soft drinks on the first floor in the evenings. They also offer free hot springs. The only downside is the questionable cleanliness, which needs improvement."

"A special place to enjoy views of the frozen Akan Lake in a luxurious and warm space. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean with a fantastic view. The dinner and breakfast buffets were definitely a highlight and very varied. One of our party is vegetarian and there were loads of options for them. You also get access to the neighbouring hotels’ onsens and is definitely worth the experience."

"Nice Japanese-style spacious rooms. Each room has a genkan entrance with two doors which reduces any noise from the hallway, so it was very peaceful. The building is very close to the Kamuy Lumina forest night walk event, so it's a great location if you're planning to go to that, or just want easy access to the forest walk during the day. It's also a very short walk into the main area of Ainu Kotan, and so is close and convenient to everything. The staff were lovely and the facilities were clean. There is no aircon, but each room has a fan, and there is heating. It's an old building with a lot of charm and we really enjoyed our stay."

"We took a tour bus directly to the New Akan Hotel. The hotel is very grand, and although it's a bit old, it's very well-maintained with a European-American style decor. I booked a Japanese-style lake view room in advance, and the size was definitely larger than what was stated in the description, at least 30+ square meters. The indoor and outdoor onsen, all-you-can-eat dining, and service were all excellent. The location is superb, close to both the onsen street and the ice mountain attractions. There are two minor drawbacks: the dinner includes a buffet yakiniku, and the smell can't be dissipated, so the entire public area smells like it... thankfully, the rooms are fine. Also, as many have mentioned, there are a lot of tour groups, all from Taiwan, so the hotel is crowded everywhere you go. You need to plan your meals and onsen visits to avoid peak times. Despite this, the hotel's order is still quite good. The internal shops are not tax-free. If I have the chance to come again, I would still choose this hotel, but I'd try to avoid the times when there are large tour groups, as the environment is quite important when you're on vacation!"

"The room was fantastic! I felt like I got my money's worth just from the buffet – I stayed for 4 days and gained 1kg! Soaking in the hot springs twice a day was incredibly relaxing. The ice activities on Lake Akan were a lot of fun. There's a free shuttle to the Lake Akan Ski Resort, where I skied for 3 days and finally got the hang of it. This stay was incredibly good value for money."

"We had a lovely stay at Hotel Gozensui in Lake Akan. The location is fantastic — the frozen lake and all the winter activities are just a short walk from the hotel. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, and even though English wasn’t widely spoken, they really tried their best to assist with anything we needed. Our room faced the lake and the view was beautiful, especially at night when we could watch the fireworks right from the room. A very memorable stay in Lake Akan."
