"The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of items, including reindeer meat and salmon! We booked the sauna on the day, and it was a memorable experience watching the night sky and snow scenery. The only downsides are that the hot water is only available for a limited time and there is nothing nearby. I had washed myself to a certain extent in the sauna, so I didn't have to stop midway, but it was a pain having to leave time aside. There were few buses, so we had the hotel call a taxi for us, and we went to nearby souvenir shops, supermarkets, and fast food restaurants! Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the aurora, but we'd like to try again♪"

"Το βόρειο χωριό Φωτός στο Saariselkä είναι ένα απολύτως όμορφο θέρετρο με ατμόσφαιρα που πραγματικά ζει με το όνομά του. Κατά τη διάρκεια της διαμονής μας, ήμασταν αρκετά τυχεροί να βλέπουμε τα Βόρεια Φώτα κάθε μέρα και σχεδόν κάθε βράδυ, χωρίς να χρειάζεται να πάμε έξω για κυνήγι αυρορά. Μερικές νύχτες, η αυριορά ήταν απίστευτα ισχυρή, με πράσινα και ακόμα και κόκκινα χρώματα εμφανή. " όραση της κόκκινης αυριοράς ήταν ιδιαίτερα σπάνια και ένιωθε πραγματικά μαγική. Μια από τις πιο αξέχαστες εμπειρίες ήταν να ξαπλώσει άνετα στο κρεβάτι και να παρακολουθεί τα Βόρεια Φώτα από τη γυάλινη στέγη, ακριβώς από το δωμάτιο. Το προσωπικό είναι φιλικό, καλοδεχούμενο, και πάντα χαρούμενο να βοηθάει, με ζεστά χαμόγελα που κάνουν τους επισκέπτες να αισθάνονται καλά φροντισμένοι. Το δωμάτιο είναι άνετο και σχεδιασμένο με σκέψη, με θερμαινόμενο πάτωμα, που είναι πολύ ωραίο σε ακραίες χειμερινές συνθήκες. Το δεύτερο βράδυ, η θερμοκρασία ήταν πολύ καλύτερη και άνετη. "The buffet breakfast has a variety of styles, including my favorite salmon, beans with tomato sauce and wheat bran. There is also a self-service waffles machine that allows guests to make their own waffles🧇, which is hot and very good. taste! The hotel is on the side of the River Juutua. You can see the beautiful scenery of the river from the restaurant and the room, which is a first-class experience! The front desk staff were happy to answer our questions, and some of them even smiled! The waiters and food in the hotel restaurant (Aanaar) are up to the level of a 5-star hotel. When the food is served, each dish will be explained, what its main dish, side dishes and sauce are! The biggest pity is that the thermostat does not produce warm air. Fortunately, the weather is not too cold. There is a heat pipe for drying clothes in the bathroom, so wet clothes can be dried quickly!"

"Αυτό είναι ένα πολύ ωραίο ξενοδοχείο για την περιοχή. Καλά, βασικά δωμάτια με μικρά μπάνια με καλό ντους. Δυστυχώς, οι κουρτίνες συσκότισης δεν ήταν αποτελεσματικές. Το δείπνο και το πρωινό στο εστιατόριο ήταν και τα δύο πεντανόστιμα. Το ξενοδοχείο βρίσκεται δίπλα στο ποτάμι, οπότε αυτό είναι ελκυστικό. Το προσωπικό είναι εξαιρετικό και εξυπηρετικό."

"We visited with my fiancè and my mum for her 80th birthday. The staff looked after us so well from organising trips to catering for myself and my fiancè who are vegan. The food was incredible- big selection at breakfast and possibly the best granola and vegan pancakes I have tasted! Trips that I would recommend are the cross country skiing lesson with Marti- so much fun and a really knowledgeable instructor who was very kind and jolly. Also the huskies; the dogs were so well looked after and clearly enjoyed the event. I am big on animal welfare and I was cautious about events that mix animals and tourism but I was blown away with how happy the dogs were and cared for they are by the staff who love them. The Spa opens at 4pm each day and we loved going to the sauna and then to the cold plunge and back to the sauna again. We felt so relaxed after. Seeing the northern lights from the hotel whilst sipping champagne in the spa lobby was the absolute dream. I can not rate this hotel, experience and holiday enough. Thank you to all the staff at Galdu- we hope to someday return!"

"This was a trip of a lifetime. The hotel is stunning - warm, welcoming and cozy. The staff go out of their way to be helpful, kind and informative. The food is excellent and they catered so well for those with allergies. The winter gear provided was brilliant and the activities on offer (reindeer herder visit, snowshoeing, snowmobiles, ice fishing, Sami cultural museum, husky sleds etc) are well thought out and timed - keeping you both busy and engaged, but with plenty of time to rest and relax. The activities use local reindeer herders and husky owners giving you a chance to interact and learn about their way of life. This is a fabulous location to view the northern lights as minimal light pollution out on the lake in front of the hotel. Would totally recommend if you have ever wanted to visit winter wonderland!"
