"The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We were among the last to arrive that day, so parking was a bit of a struggle, though we later discovered that parking on the roadside outside the guesthouse was also an option. You need to change shoes upon entering, and the owner provides slippers. The room had an old-fashioned kang (heated brick bed), which reminded me of the kang I slept on for several years as a child. It brought back fond memories; there's a term in my hometown called ”wu kang,” which means making a bed, instantly transporting me back to my childhood. My partner, however, had absolutely no idea how to make a bed. The next morning, we were heading to see the rime ice at 6:30 am when the owner said he could take us to a place that should have some (the forecast that day seemed to only be 1 star). He drove us to a spot that tourists would never find on their own (there were no roads or markers on the map), where we saw incredibly beautiful rime ice. Although it wasn't 5 stars, I still thought it was absolutely gorgeous! By the way, the owner can drive directly to the island. If you're going from Zengtong to Hantun, you need to cross a bridge, which apparently costs money. We didn't go that day, but we still saw incredibly beautiful rime ice right there. If I have the chance to come again next year, as long as it snows and then the weather clears up, there will basically be a great rime ice display (that's what I think the shopkeeper meant, haha)."

"The small courtyard is spacious, the room is clean and bright, and the bathroom is super clean! The heating temperature is right, comfortable ～ The most important thing is that the boss family is super caring, pick up and drop off every day to watch the sunrise and see the smog, go to the scenic spot! ! "A friend recommended the room and said that the conditions and environment of this hotel are good and the room is large and spacious. There are three floors in total and the appearance is very beautiful and distinctive. Food and accommodation are all in the store, which is convenient. Ula hotpot is delicious, you can try it!"

"I stayed at Fujia B&B in Dongbei Kang. It was so beautiful! It feels better than the pictures I saw online! Beautiful photos! When you come to the Northeast, you must experience the Northeast Big Kang. It is really unique and cannot be found in the city. It is very special! The scenic spot is also very lively at night. In the morning, the boss took us to see the rime together. It was so beautiful! We also played a lot of fun snow sports. We really can’t see such beautiful snow scenery in our hometown. Their Fucha’s hot pot is really delicious. I will stay at Fujia Inn next year."

"This was my second trip to Jilin Rime Island to see the rime, and my second stay at Dasheng Inn. The owner, Mr. Zhang, warmly welcomes every guest, treating them and his family as friends. His warm, thoughtful, and meticulous service truly makes guests feel at home. He sincerely advises guests on scenic routes and offers free pick-up and drop-off for tours. Guests also get complimentary northeastern frozen pears, frozen persimmons, melon seeds, peanuts, and even traditional northeastern clothing to try on. At Dasheng Inn, you can enjoy authentic Northeastern cuisine made with homegrown, green vegetables. The food is delicious, and they also offer various health-boosting wines for guests. The guest rooms can accommodate different types of travelers. The inn's environment is beautiful, and you can even watch the sunset from inside. The cleanliness is impeccable, with bright and spotless rooms and great natural light. There are many green plants and potted flowers throughout the inn, allowing guests to truly enjoy and experience the simple northern life (sleeping on a heated 'kang' bed, wearing a floral padded jacket, eating frozen pears, admiring the rime, savoring iron pot stew and sauerkraut noodles, etc.). A visit to Jilin absolutely requires a stop at Rime Island – it's the most authentic place to see the rime. Staying at Dasheng Inn was a wise choice! I highly recommend this inn; the experience was fantastic! A big thank you to the owner and his wife for their warm hospitality; I had a wonderful four days 😃! And I was lucky enough to witness a five-star rime!"

"The owner was incredibly welcoming. We were coming from the Harbin direction when our tire went flat. We searched for a repair shop for ages but couldn't find one. Desperate, we called the owner on a whim. He immediately drove over to pick us up, took us to a nearby repair shop, fixed the car, and even bought us tickets to the scenic area at the tour company price – we were so grateful! The guesthouse was clean and cozy, feeling like visiting relatives. In the evening, the owner personally took us to the scenic area to see the iron flower display, which was truly impressive. Back at the guesthouse, we tried the local specialty, ”Ula Manchu Hot Pot,” at the owner's house. It was delicious! We could ask for more dipping sauce as needed, and the waitresses were very friendly, even giving us complimentary frozen pears and persimmons. What touched us most was that the owner even put a winter mat over our car – he was so kind! The next morning, he got up early to take us to see the rime ice. The rime ice near the bridge was a bit thin that day, so he took us to another spot. The breakfast we had upon returning was exceptionally delicious, with side dishes personally prepared by the owner – they were so good, and you could ask for more if you wanted. Choosing to stay at this guesthouse for this trip was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend it to everyone. Just to clarify, I'm not trying to promote anyone 😊, this is just my honest opinion."

"Very clean, the owner is very helpful. For such fee charged, can't really complain. Pls ask the owner to arrange car to drop you to wusong island for a more comfortable travelling (10 yuan / peson back and forth). She can also arrange a taxi to pick you up from her inn to jilin city/ jilin railway. And must try her Manchu hotpot. Good portion and comforting. Better to bring your own towel though. They provide a mini compress towel which might not be convenient."

"The guesthouse is actually a family-run business in a village on Wusong Island, but the owners are quite professional and the place is very clean, which is very important. Although the rooms are simply furnished, each one is a heated kang (traditional heated bed), which is very warm. The breakfast is also plentiful, with eight kinds of pickled vegetables alone—some of which are homemade! There are also eggs, steamed buns, corn, sticky rice cakes, and corn porridge. The corn in the morning was so good I wanted to take two bags home! The formation of Wusong Island is very interesting. With the blessing of the five-star rime ice and the guidance of the owner, Mr. Xie, we truly saw textbook-perfect rime ice! Adults and children alike were amazed, especially my dad who had a great time with the kids. Apparently, the Wusong Island scenic area isn't as extensive as what the owner showed us. The owner took us to several spots where we could see the rime ice, all along the riverbank. The diversity outside the scenic area is definitely richer. You can imagine it's on an island, very rustic, without any luxury hotels—exactly the kind of experience we wanted to give our children… The owners were incredibly warm and hospitable, showcasing the true hospitality of Northeasterners. What kind of amazing business would drive you around to find beautiful rime ice? What kind of amazing business would demonstrate such professional photography skills? What kind of amazing business would patiently explain where the best spots on Wusong Island are and when they're at their best? Only Lao Xie's! I haven't tried any other places, but Lao Xie's guesthouse made us feel right at home—like stepping out of the car and feeling right at home. We changed into slippers inside—the heating was wonderful! We arrived around 9 pm and hadn't eaten yet, but we had pre-booked a hot pot meal, and it was served as soon as we entered! The food was good and the price was reasonable. The main problem is that the village gets pitch black at night, and there's not much else to eat there. Finally, if you're driving, I suggest going during the day. Driving into the village at night is dangerous because there are no lights along the way, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area. Also, if you plan to see the sunrise during the day, be sure to dress warmly and wear gloves! I forgot mine, and my hands were practically frozen solid!"
