She made the check-in process smooth and was professional and welcoming. Her warm attitude truly made a difference. The location was convenient, with easy access to downtown Banff, restaurants, and nearby attractions. Overall, it offered good value for the price, and I would gladly stay here again on my next visit to Banff."

What I Loved: The Location: You really can't beat being right on Banff Avenue. It was a quick, scenic 5-10 minute walk to the downtown core for dinner and shopping. Plus, the ski shuttle stop is just steps away, which is a massive plus in January. The Amenities: After a cold day outside, the 8-person hot tub and dry cedar sauna were highlights. They were well-maintained and exactly what I needed to thaw out. The Staff: From check-in to check-out, the service was genuinely warm. They were happy to provide local tips and made the process seamless. On-site Dining: We grabbed breakfast at El Toro Restaurant inside the hotel. The food was surprisingly good—definitely a step above your standard hotel fare—and very convenient on a chilly morning. A Few Considerations: Noise Levels: As some other travelers have noted, the walls are a bit thin. I could occasionally hear activity in the hallways and the hum of the heating system, though it didn't ruin my sleep. Parking: The underground parking is a great perk (especially to keep the snow off the car), but it is limited and quite tight. If you’re arriving late in the evening during peak season, you might have to hunt for a spot. Room Vibe: The rooms are clean and functional, but they do feel a bit ”classic.” If you are looking for ultra-modern luxury, this isn't it—but for a cozy, budget-friendly mountain base, it hits the mark. Final Verdict: A fantastic mid-range option for winter travelers. It’s clean, cozy, and perfectly situated. I’d definitely stay here again for the convenience and the hot tub alone!"

"Location on sidewalk of central Banff town. Don't let the photos online scare you away from booking this hotel... they make the rooms look dated and not fresh. However, the rooms were modern and fresh. Free parking lot for hotel. Would definitely stay again and we're kinda prissy about our hotel comfort haha."

"Pros: Extremely good location. They have an attached restaurant and cafe right next to the hotel. Very clean facilities. Rooms spacious and has nice views of the town. Staff always very polite and helpful in giving recommendations and allowing us to use the telephone. Able to store bags there after checking out as well. Cons: no safe provided in the room Highly recommend staying here!"

"Best priced accoms in banff during summer, very well equiped with shower gel, hot water, hair dryer, laundry, cafe for breakfast and dinner. Hostel provides free roam transit bus pass for routes 1, 2, 4, 6 and is valid for 3 days, very useful to get to town and around even lake minnewanka, two jack, johnson and cascade ponds! Comfortable room, top notch service."

"The staffs were friendly. The environment was good. The downside is not restaurants, no pool and washer and dryer they are share with other hotel. But if you have children that not very convenient."

"We had a great time at Canoe. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and bed was comfortable. Soaking in the hot tubs were a great way to relax after a long day. It was easy to find parking (at least during the winter when we went) and a multi-day bus pass is provided if you don’t want to drive or walk to downtown Banff. Only complaint is that the heater/AC unit is below the window and the air would hit the occupants of the bed closest to it. We worked about it by blocking the air with a chair."

"The Otter Hotel was amazing. 10/10 I would highly recommend staying here when staying in Banff. The rooms and bathroom are beautiful and kept clean. "The room was dim and the floor of the shower room was not clean. The bed was worried about the stain when I turned over. I use a hair dryer, so I'm going to go to the bedroom and the bathroom. I wanted a door. I was worried about using it. The staff was happy to take out the laundry It was kind. It was good to be able to stay cheaply in the high season. The kitchen smelled bad. The free breakfast muffin was good."

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Banff Aspen Lodge! Location is a solid 5/5 — close to everything we needed and super convenient for exploring Banff. As a couple traveling on a budget, we found the price very reasonable, almost comparable to the nearby hostel, which made the comfort and quality here feel like an even better value. Special shoutout to their toilet amenities — they smelled so good they actually made us walk into the Rocky Mountain Soap store afterward and buy things we definitely didn’t need (lol). No regrets though! The breakfast was superb, delicious, fresh, and a perfect start to our days. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely stay here again!"
