"The hotel lobby is directly accessible from the second floor of JR Chuo Station. The location is excellent, making it convenient for both travel and shopping. Before check-in and after check-out, you can self-store your luggage; just ask the front desk for a card to scan yourself, which is very user-friendly. The front desk staff are available 24 hours and are always warm and friendly. The hotel has two restaurants, one Japanese and one Western. The Western restaurant partners with Pronto on the first floor and offers set meals. The Japanese restaurant is a buffet. Neither restaurant has a huge variety of food, but there's enough to fill you up. The Western option is better for guests in a hurry as it offers takeaway. The only drawback is the lack of a hot spring, making this the only hotel on our Kyushu trip where we couldn't enjoy a bath. However, the front desk provides free bath salts, so you can still have a relaxing soak in your room's bathtub. The bath salts also have a pleasant fragrance, which somewhat made up for it."

"Art Hotel Kagoshima offers a very positive stay overall, largely thanks to its outstanding staff, who consistently went out of their way to assist and make guests feel welcome. I strongly recommend requesting a room with a view of Sakurajima—one of Japan’s most active volcanoes—as waking up to this dramatic landscape is truly priceless. The hotel’s location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby bus routes. While the rooms are comfortable, the building is clearly dated and would benefit from significant renovations to better match the quality of service."

"This hotel boasts a perfect location, directly opposite JR Kagoshima-Chuo Station, and is conveniently connected to the station and bus terminal via an underground passage. This makes it incredibly easy to access the Shinkansen, city trams, and airport buses. What's even better is that the hotel lobby and some guest rooms offer breathtaking views, allowing you to take in the magnificent Sakurajima volcano and the dazzling city night lights. As mentioned in other reviews, the rooms are spotless and well-equipped, truly embodying the consistent cleanliness and thoughtful design characteristic of Japanese hotels. Enjoying the breakfast buffet in the morning, featuring dishes prepared with local Kagoshima ingredients, was a highlight. In particular, getting to savor the traditional and delicious 'chicken rice' made with rich chicken broth was a fantastic way to energize for the day's adventures. From check-in to check-out, the hotel staff consistently displayed professional and warm hospitality, making the entire stay incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Even as just a stop along my journey, it provided a level of comfort and convenience that far exceeded my expectations."

"Very conveniently located close to the tram (which goes to the location to catch the bus to Kagoshima airport), as well as other places obviously. Also about ten minute walk to Sakurajima ferry and about a fifteen minute walk to the high speed ferry that goes to Yakushima.
Has laundry and drying that you need to pay for on the first floor. Rooms are typical Japanese business hotel rooms but not ultra small or cramped. I stayed here for several days and enjoyed the view of Sakurajima in the morning and night.
Staff are friendly and prompt."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the planetarium. The airport shuttle stop is just a minute's walk to the left when you exit. The hotel is quiet, clean, and has a great design. The room size isn't huge, but it's perfectly sufficient for a solo traveler. The only downside is that breakfast is a set menu with no drinks, and it got a bit repetitive after four days. Overall, it's great value for money, and I recommend it!"

"What an odd name, but it was full of pleasant surprises! Kagoshima is a lovely small city, perfect for a leisurely explore and very comfortable. "It's very clean, and the bedding and toiletries are brand new. On the first floor, the lobby offers a variety of DHC cleansers, toners, and makeup removers, so if you're not too picky, you don't even need to bring any toiletries. It's right next to the Tenmonkan shopping district, which is very convenient, and the 'Woa Ren' restaurant there is delicious. I'll definitely go back again; I really enjoyed the food in Kagoshima, and if I return, I'll stay at this hotel again."

HHuifeideyuerbushanggouThe hotel offers a shuttle service, which makes getting around very convenient. Right outside the hotel, there's a tram stop that takes you to the pier, where you can catch a boat to Sakurajima for sightseeing. The hotel's breakfast is quite substantial, with plenty of fruit, and the golden kiwi was especially sweet. All the staff were attentive and thoughtful. The hotel also has a free gym, and right next door is a hot spring ♨️ where you can enjoy a full soak or a foot bath; the spa services, however, are paid. Overall, everything was excellent. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit. I hope for friendship between China and Japan and world peace 🤝🏻

LLeanne415Had a great stay at Daiwa. The location is so great. It’s across the street from the airport bus stop. Across the street is all The Kagoshima Island View hop on and hop off bus stop, and buses/trams to Sakurajima, Kagoshima Chuo train station. It’s right next to the Tenmonkan shopping arcade and tons of food and bar options. You can also walk to so many tourist attractions. You can’t go wrong with this hotel based on location alone. The rooms are bigger than average and clean. The washrooms especially were an impressive size with great appliances from Reha. There are so many amenities to choose from at the front desk lotions to hair milk to Epsom salt, different coffee pods and tea bags. There is a self serve laundry on the 8th floor that costs 600 yen. The hotel is quiet for the fact that it’s located in the center of all the action. My room had a beautiful view of Sakurajima and the city. Will definitely stay here next time I come to Kagoshima!

SSeng Hock ChangRichmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel.
They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient.
It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking.
Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.

Aa350ryomaThis hotel's location is super convenient, right in the heart of the Tenmonkan area, with the tram stop directly in front. It's walking distance to the bustling downtown and plenty of restaurants, so exploring and dining out was a breeze. The hotel and rooms felt new and clean, making for a very comfortable stay. The artificial carbonated hot spring in the public bath was fantastic for soothing away travel fatigue. I especially enjoyed the breakfast on the top floor, with amazing views of Sakurajima while savoring dishes made with local ingredients. The staff were also very attentive and polite. Overall, I'd say this is a highly satisfying hotel.

GGuest UserWe ended up in a magnificent corner room with a view of Sakurajima - possibly the best room in the hotel - but only after a struggle. On arrival, we were told that our Standard King room was double-booked and we would have to move after one night to a smaller room. The hotel blamed the mix-up on Trip.com. Since we had booked almost two months prior and had arrived first, this didn't wash. We pressed our claim and the result was good. A lovely, modern room with exceptional facilities - including a private sauna - and magnificent view.

AAnonymous UserI was impressed by the friendly staff, all of whom had the biggest smiles. Kagoshima Chuo Station is about a 20-minute walk away, straight along the main street in front of the hotel. The breakfast buffet featured a wide variety of local Kagoshima ingredients and traditional dishes, as well as a wide selection of sweets, making it a delightful experience from the start of the day.

IISHI NAMII stayed here for two nights because it was close to the station, the price was reasonable, and the reviews said it was clean. The building is old, but it was well-cleaned.
I stayed for two nights, but the sheets were changed (they were on the bed, so you lay them down yourself).
The shower, toilet, and washroom are shared by men and women. I went to a public bath and hot spring, so I didn't use the shower.
The entrance is unlocked, so you can enter and exit freely 24 hours a day. The entrance to the room is unlocked, too. However, since it was next to the shared floor, I didn't feel uneasy. They come to turn off the lights at 10pm (it's dimly lit after the lights are turned off).
There is a lockable box in the room for valuables (suitcases won't fit).
It was enough for me since I only needed to sleep. Thank you for your help. *Recommended for experienced travelers.

It is definitely this for the convenience of the location, very close to the central station, less than 10 minutes walk.
The cafe downstairs is very sense, and guests can also have a free cup of coffee every day, which is great!
Although the sister received was not very good in English, she was very cute ☺️ to check in and turn on the lights and air conditioning in advance. The merchant is also really generous.
The environment looks quite clean anyway.
