We have been coming to the Pimalai for 20 years and it never fails to deliver. We were lucky enough to spend 15 days at the resort this time, and it just seems to get better and better. Its hard to put your finger in what makes The Pimalai so unique. It has a genuine rustic Thai charm, combined with the efficiency of a well run Western hotel. The balance is perfect and never disappoints. It could be the stunning beach, the tranquil setting, the crystal clear waters, the fantastic food or the delicious cocktails at happy hour that make it so amazing, but I think it’s actually the incredible staff that really make you feel like you are one of the family, that really sets this place apart. The staff can not do enough for you. Even the gardeners (who work tirelessly to keep the grounds looking beautiful) stop to say hello when you walk past. There has been a change of guard since last year. The lovely French Manager Franck has handed over to the equally charming new French manager Brice. The transition has been seamless and the hotel is in safe hands. We managed to do a few things this time that we’ve never done before. I did a wonderful Thai cooking class with the head chef. What an experience. One I’d recommend to anyone. We also did a sunset snorkelling trip to Koh Ha. This was spectacular. The fish we saw were incredible, an the guys on the boat were so helpful. Then followed by a sunset cruise back to the hotel. Just WOW!! As always the food in the restaurants was delicious. I get the feeling that it’s only going to get better with the new food and beverage manager putting his mark on the menus. As always, we didn’t want to leave, and we can’t wait to get back.

Nice resort on Koh Lanta, view of the beach and sea. We had a swimming up room. Super big for us two! Bed was comfortable, cleaning comes daily, clean sanitary. We found it a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was good, scooter you can rent at the reception, small shopping at walking distance. It's just not for people who are not good to be. Many stairs, but we didn't care. You get a great view for it back. Tip: rent a scooter. Go to discover the island and find the beaches and the nice bars on the road with views of the beach,. Overall you find monkeys, super clear water and a beautiful sandy beach. S Nights good dinner at the beach tents!

This hotel is really amazing for me! -Environment: In the south of Lanta Island, it is quite far away. It takes about 40 minutes to drive a motorcycle to the bustling area in the north (open fast); the food nearby is similar, but the 7-11 diagonally opposite green house massage shop next to the alley Everyone who goes in the massage shop must try it! Although the price is half the price of Ao Nang, this oil is really very good compared to the price. - Hotel: The service is very good. We just have a welcome towel, non-alcoholic drinks and waffles, and some luggage are put upstairs and air-conditioning is opened in advance. The use of various areas of the hotel is also recommended carefully; May be the off-season, only us and a couple of foreigners at the time of check-in, so we arranged the best room on the third floor; - Catering: At the hotel, only the lunch of the room service is called once. The taste is average. You need to charge 10% service charge and 7% tax; more than 500 baht. - Facilities: The only downside is that there is no elevator; but this sea view is really too great, very quiet and very comfortable; - Note: Because the hotel is backed by mountains in the south, many monkeys will grab your food and even arrogantly steal clothes. I really like the style of the hotel and it blends perfectly with the surrounding environment, similar to some domestic homestays. The facilities are a little bit old, but they have everything they should. The rooms are large and the balcony with sea view is very awkward. There are not many varieties of breakfast, but it is completely delicious. The semi-open restaurant and garden perfectly blend with the sea view, bringing a good dining mood, which is enough to offset the shortcomings of fewer varieties. The flame dance at the bar on the side is also a highlight, making the night more exciting. The only thing that is not tolerable is the problem of bath water. The water flow is often very small. When I came back from the beach and stood under the shower head. When the dripping water could not clean the sand on my body, my heart collapsed. I stood and waited for a few minutes. It took ten minutes for the water flow to return to normal levels to finish the bath. The sea and beaches of Kantian Bay are not as good as expected. I think the comments in the comments are a bit too much. After all, Thailand has many more beautiful beaches than here. In general, it is a wonderful experience for people like me who love to lie on the balcony or garden and enjoy leisure time.

Watching the stars at night is not too good~ Accommodation: We have five people, so we add about two hundred yuan per night. There is no extra bed. If you need it, a small sofa in the room can let the service staff add a quilt. Service: The hotel can arrange vehicles to go to the following restaurant and 711 every day. The hotel has no food and can be delivered to the room if needed. Hotel staff can recommend snorkeling and car rental, and if you feel the price is right, you can order it. The only fly in the ointment is the path from the main road to the hotel. It is a bit steep and a bit broken. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach. The hotel's cat is so cute, every day, I want to enter the house at the door of the villa, and all kinds of trails hahaha, but we are not able to stand the enthusiasm of human beings. Lanta is really the country of cats, people are less beautiful, very recommended oh~ next time I want to book this hotel!

The most expensive room type in this hotel is unique on the same beach. In addition, even if you have a normal room type, you can enjoy the beautiful public pool. However, what does not match its expensive price is its service. In addition to the proprietress, other employees, including the hotel front desk and restaurant waiters, cannot communicate normally in English, resulting in many inconveniences in the check-in process. No matter what room type, even the villa pool room for four thousand one nights does not have any welcome fruit, or any other value-added services and small items to give you the feeling of ”VIP”. Finally got a chance to stay for a couple of days, prices have been slashed and two nights including breakfast was less than a single night in low season before Covid. We had the first day all to ourselves, no other guests, drawback is that no restaurant open for anything other than breakfast. Room was beachside and showing its age a little but clean and everything working. Be prepared to exercise if you have beachside room, the walk to anywhere is uphill and I do mean uphill, gives you exercise before you get to the pool. Overall very good, not five star but excellent value.

We were super impressed with our accommodations here . Huge rooms , cozy linens , partially out door bathrooms were unique and plenty of space for hanging clothes etc There are approximately 13 villas spaced nicely in lush tropical gardens . There’s a good sized pool and restaurant area. At 1200 bht a night we consider this the best value in the area. The two guys on reception were super helpful, organised a snorkelling tour, rented us a scooter and had our laundry back within hours . Guests should welcome a harder mattress , mosque prayers at 5am and you’re not directly on the beach ( but the price tells you that ) Definitely will return here 🙏

Arrived with a 3-day booking and within a day had extended to 10-days. I found this resort beautiful with lovely spacious bungalows, and a fabulously designed bathroom/shower. The staff could not have been more friendlier or helpful with everything. The pool was a great size, next to the beach, with stunning views whilst swimming. All the food and shakes were delicious and at great prices. We rented a bike from the resort for our whole trip, and was close to everything. Fresh shower/beach towels everyday. The island itself was beautiful and if I ever return I would stay here again.

The pool is big and beautiful, you can swim in it. The landscaped garden is beautiful. Everything is built and decorated with perfect taste, it's a treat. It's very quiet and 2 minutes walk from the charming Old Lanta Town, a 7-Eleven and a small market. The staff (two brothers and their parents) are absolutely adorable, caring, very available and very efficient. We were able to rent a scooter thanks to them and they made the bus and boat reservations for us for the rest of our trip. We absolutely loved our one week stay there. We recommend 200%.

This is such a nice place, quiet, close and close to nature. The beach nearby, we take a morning walk there every day. The villa is larger than we expected and the views, both from the balcony and the restaurant are simply amazing. Staff is so friendly and helpful, the ones in the reception speak English very well. They helped us with snorkeling tours and scooter rentals and the prices were good compared to what we saw on offer down the road. There is a good selection of restaurants nearby. Not a party area, so don't expect that. The breakfast has lots of options and is definitely recommended.

The second hotel in Lanta, I like it very much, facing the sea, watching the sunset and catching the sea until now, let us remember. The hotel is in the middle of Ko Lanta. We rented a car from Krabi. There is only one road in the west of Lanta. It is very easy to find along the beach. A large family, 9 people live in three rooms, two years old. The children added another 150 strains. In particular, the horse killing chicken opposite the hotel is really good. If you come to stay, you must go to experience. The boss is very good. In the afternoon, we don’t know where to eat. She told us to go to a delicious shop because I’m lame. I can't understand English. She simply led me in the past. She gave her a tip. She didn't want it. The restaurant was really delicious. Pineapple smoothies, fish cakes, and a skewer were very delicious. If you stay here, be sure to experience the horse killing chicken and this hotel.

We stayed a week here (after a week in Phrae Ae at Thai House Beach Resort, and before a week in Kaw Kwang at Twin Bay. It was excellent value at £60/night with breakfast in high season). The room was well-equipped with wardrobe fridge, good aircon etc and a good shower, and a nice veranda; rooms were clean with towels and bedding changed daily. Sunbeds, mattresses, toys, beach towels and parasols were available for the beach and the small pool (a big plus). Reception staff were friendly, but 3 of the 4 restaurant and bar staff were often too busy chatting or on their phones, or just surly (our only criticism of the place), so we chose to eat elsewhere. The biggest plus of all is its location, and we preferred it to Phrae Ae (Long Beach). Klong Nin beach is 2.2 km long and Ilmare is at the very northern end by a little rocky headland and klong (small tidal stream), which is very pretty and interesting, with safe bathing (the beach to the south is straight sand until you reach the next headland). There are a few restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and an excellent German Bakery. Then 500 meters south of Ilmare (a 10 minute stroll along the beach or dusty road) is Horizon Road, a line of resorts, bars and restaurants (recommend Kansa for a relaxing time, Richey for a lively vibe, or Otto for western food in a relaxed setting). If you cross the bridge over the klong (or paddle at low tide) there is very friendly place called Klong Nuiy Seafood where the owners may provide a half-price taxi service (500 Baht return to Lanta Old Town). Beyond that is a beautiful little bay called Klong Toab where we often swam; it is dominated by the luxury Rawi Warin resort which picked arguably the best spot in Ko Lanta. It would be hard to find a anywhere better than Lanta Ilmare for the money.

We stayed in that resort for 3 night only. The hotel was really hidden from the main road where taxi left us. The ground of the hotel area looked a bit rough and could be kept better. The reception was kind of an open space. The receptionist called Chicko was very kind and helpful. We had to wait about one hour for our room to be ready so we had a little curry lunch and beer on their terrace with a beautiful sea view. The hotel consisted from many single huts. Our hut was placed quite in the back (No 303). There was a fresh and pleasant scent in the room. Whole interior was designed in the typical Thai style, quite modern, although looked tired. The little fridge, kettle and AC worked fine. We didn’t try tv. The bathroom was quite small and dark. It looked like an extension to our hut. The marks for the improvements were visible there too. The bed was a too soft for our liking and the bedsheets were not in good quality. There was a mosquito bed net, which was very handy. The cleaning could be better too. Our little front door terrace was great to have a morning coffee or an evening drink. Breakfast were served on the higher floor next to the reception. It was ok. We had few lunches there and one dinner. The setting was very authentic, bamboo everywhere, sand under your feet. We really like their curry. The prices were comparable with other restaurants or bars although there were nearly none in the close distance. You should have some transport if you wish to go a bit further to find some shop. The pool area was beautiful. It required a lot of cleaning every morning as it was surrounded by many palms and trees. The sea was lovely too. The beach had the most fine sand we have ever stand on. There were a lot of sun beds on the beach, made of bamboo but lots of them were broken. The hotel area was invaded by many monkeys. They were cute to observe and took a picture but some of them were quite vicious. We have seen a snake next to our hut one afternoon. We did go for a half day hike to Mu Ko Lanta national park to take some nice pictures. We were a bit disappointed by the natural track. There were no animals and it cost 200baht. To sum it up, the hotel was lovely, quiet and relaxing, away from craziness. Great unspoiled surroundings but there were few things to be updated.

This resort is exceptional: the bungalows are brand new, large, luxurious, very comfortable (the bedding is of very good quality), with a pleasant terrace where you can admire the sunsets. The pool is big and beautiful, you can swim in it. The landscaped garden is beautiful. Everything is built and decorated with perfect taste, it's a treat. It's very quiet and 2 minutes walk from the charming Old Lanta Town, a 7-Eleven and a small market. The staff (two brothers and their parents) are absolutely adorable, caring, very available and very efficient. We were able to rent a scooter thanks to them and they made the bus and boat reservations for us for the rest of our trip. We absolutely loved our one week stay there. We recommend 200%.

We are teachers and we travel with two 5 year old children for 3 months in South East Asia. In all this time we had never had such a bad experience in any accommodation. We had booked a triple room with a kitchen at the Lanta Maikeaw and on arrival we were given a much smaller, dirty bungalow with cracks where all sorts of bugs could get in. The owner had a booking message with confirmation of the most basic bungalow. We had a confirmation from Agoda with the upper bungalow. But what was really disappointing was the owner's attitude. She completely ignored the problem, as the triple room was occupied by another family. We proposed her to change the second night to a superior room and also compensate for the night we would spend in the more basic bungalow. She replied that she was sleeping and that we could but pay much more. Pitiful. Right in front of us and on the same road there are new, air-conditioned, clean bungalows for the same price or a little more. Obviously we didn't spend the second night there. We'd rather lose the money.

We stayed in that resort for 3 night only. The hotel was really hidden from the main road where taxi left us. The ground of the hotel area looked a bit rough and could be kept better. The reception was kind of an open space. The receptionist called Chicko was very kind and helpful. We had to wait about one hour for our room to be ready so we had a little curry lunch and beer on their terrace with a beautiful sea view. The hotel consisted from many single huts. Our hut was placed quite in the back (No 303). There was a fresh and pleasant scent in the room. Whole interior was designed in the typical Thai style, quite modern, although looked tired. The little fridge, kettle and AC worked fine. We didn’t try tv. The bathroom was quite small and dark. It looked like an extension to our hut. The marks for the improvements were visible there too. The bed was a too soft for our liking and the bedsheets were not in good quality. There was a mosquito bed net, which was very handy. The cleaning could be better too. Our little front door terrace was great to have a morning coffee or an evening drink. Breakfast were served on the higher floor next to the reception. It was ok. We had few lunches there and one dinner. The setting was very authentic, bamboo everywhere, sand under your feet. We really like their curry. The prices were comparable with other restaurants or bars although there were nearly none in the close distance. You should have some transport if you wish to go a bit further to find some shop. The pool area was beautiful. It required a lot of cleaning every morning as it was surrounded by many palms and trees. The sea was lovely too. The beach had the most fine sand we have ever stand on. There were a lot of sun beds on the beach, made of bamboo but lots of them were broken. The hotel area was invaded by many monkeys. They were cute to observe and took a picture but some of them were quite vicious. We have seen a snake next to our hut one afternoon. We did go for a half day hike to Mu Ko Lanta national park to take some nice pictures. We were a bit disappointed by the natural track. There were no animals and it cost 200baht. To sum it up, the hotel was lovely, quiet and relaxing, away from craziness. Great unspoiled surroundings but there were few things to be updated.

Charming place right on a beautiful clean beach that is not crowded and swimmable. The staff are lovely (thanks, Sue!) food surprisingly good (fish BBQ!) and you can get scooters right at the place. We actually checked in to the more luxury option on this beach and then moved here instead because it felt way more friendly. Don’t come here if you want to party, it’s at the far south of all the beaches and over some huge hills to the next gathering of shops (although there is laundry and a few restaurants and a basic shop nearby). And don’t expect satin sheets or huge rooms, it is what it is and that’s a bit rustic. But for what it is, and the price, you can’t do better.

It is about the same price as I went to the Diamond Cliff Restaurant. We ate three meals in the hotel. The hotel has a car to send to all parts of the island, and each place has a price list. We chartered a car for half a day and four hours, 2,500 baht. Go to the beach 10 kilometers away, 400 baht one way, I think the price is also very good. You can call the hotel to pick it up at Saladan Pier. This is free, but it seems that it is not delivered. Horse * chicken needs to be reserved, very cheap, Thai massage technique is very good, only 600 baht per person for 50 minutes. And it feels very good to face the sea. The elder sister who massages is very careful and will observe your various expressions to pay attention to the severity. My dad gave an early tip of 100 baht, and actually gave him an extra 20 minutes.

I am grateful to the architects, you have made this hotel beautiful, especially the one-bedroom pool villa near the sea is beautiful! It gave us the first impression of luxury and shock! The most expensive room type in this hotel is unique on the same beach. In addition, even if you have a normal room type, you can enjoy the beautiful public pool. However, what does not match its expensive price is its service. In addition to the proprietress, other employees, including the hotel front desk and restaurant waiters, cannot communicate normally in English, resulting in many inconveniences in the check-in process. No matter what room type, even the villa pool room for four thousand one nights does not have any welcome fruit, or any other value-added services and small items to give you the feeling of ”VIP”. The cleaning service of the room is very untimely, and it is always embarrassing to clean when the guests are there! And the cleaning is sloppy, the table is not cleaned... This is a resort that has a soul! We stayed at the Narima during the pandemics. It was almost empty, but this was a great experience. We were looking for a calm place with a ”hidden” beach. The service and the food was excellent, the staff very friendly and the owners came by our table for a chat. We had a rare ”hidden paradice” feeling during our week-long stay. Narima is close to the road, but you do not notice it. The vegetation is varied which gives good shade throughout the day. The pool stays cool thanks to the spring water supply. The nicely terrased lay-out of the resort gives many different views and possibilities to hang out. . The beach is natural with sand and rocks and enjoyable even during ebb. For the kids there are lots of nice rocks, shells and crabs to collect! When you feel lazy, you may just spend time in the hammock on the balcony of your bungalow. Thanks for a great stay! We stayed a week here (after a week in Phrae Ae at Thai House Beach Resort, and before a week in Kaw Kwang at Twin Bay. It was excellent value at £60/night with breakfast in high season). The room was well-equipped with wardrobe fridge, good aircon etc and a good shower, and a nice veranda; rooms were clean with towels and bedding changed daily. Sunbeds, mattresses, toys, beach towels and parasols were available for the beach and the small pool (a big plus). Reception staff were friendly, but 3 of the 4 restaurant and bar staff were often too busy chatting or on their phones, or just surly (our only criticism of the place), so we chose to eat elsewhere. The biggest plus of all is its location, and we preferred it to Phrae Ae (Long Beach). Klong Nin beach is 2.2 km long and Ilmare is at the very northern end by a little rocky headland and klong (small tidal stream), which is very pretty and interesting, with safe bathing (the beach to the south is straight sand until you reach the next headland). There are a few restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and an excellent German Bakery. Then 500 meters south of Ilmare (a 10 minute stroll along the beach or dusty road) is Horizon Road, a line of resorts, bars and restaurants (recommend Kansa for a relaxing time, Richey for a lively vibe, or Otto for western food in a relaxed setting). If you cross the bridge over the klong (or paddle at low tide) there is very friendly place called Klong Nuiy Seafood where the owners may provide a half-price taxi service (500 Baht return to Lanta Old Town). Beyond that is a beautiful little bay called Klong Toab where we often swam; it is dominated by the luxury Rawi Warin resort which picked arguably the best spot in Ko Lanta. It would be hard to find a anywhere better than Lanta Ilmare for the money.

Everyone who works there is very calm and friendly, and very sweet. Always asking how you are, and wishing you a good day on your way in and out, and if you need anything, to feel free to ask. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of a family run store, so you kind of walk through it or go through the back street to access the stairs right away. It's an unusual set up at first, but you get used to it. The rooms are not fancy, but we just wanted quick access to the beach, so it was perfect.
