"Started our 7 night stay in Ruka valley apartments on Christmas Eve 2023 . Didn’t start well as we didn’t seem to have a bed for our ten year old . We were told it’s under the other two singles that were made up . We revisited the room and found a mattress on small caster wheels . We were then told that’s it and no one was going to make it up or help in anyway like where to put it as space was a little limited . As the title suggests the answer so far has been no . We requested extra pillows and was refused , later in the week we asked for towels again the answer is “no” . Seems Pinja only knows “no” as an answer to any of our requests. I have asked to speak to the manager tonight but that was also a “no “ as it was 945pm . No regard for trying to keep a family happy at the reception . So far the food has been a buffet every night and has changed the main offering each night . Wine starts at 12€ a glass of wine. Obviously Finland is very expensive and you can buy a bottle for 90€ for only a half decent drop . Tonight food was chicken tikka. Which was very nice but it ran out twice halfway through service . I did manage to get fed but only just tonight . Last night was. Meat balls and mash . Gala dinner was meats and mashed carrot or mashed turnip ."

Περιτριγυρισμένο από την πρωτόγονη φύση και τα εκπληκτικά χιόνια τοπία, ήταν το τέλειο μέρος για να αποσυνδεθείτε από την καθημερινή ζωή και να επανασυνδεθείτε με τη φύση. " κατοικία ήταν σχεδιασμένη με όμορφα σχέδια, συνδυάζοντας τη σύγχρονη άνεση με τη γοητεία της ερήμου. Κάθε λεπτομέρεια ήταν σκεπτικώς θεραπευμένη, δημιουργώντας μια ζεστή, άνετη και πραγματικά μαγική ατμόσφαιρα... και μια από τις πιο λησμονούμενες στιγμές της διαμονής μου ήταν να βλέπω τα Βόρεια Φώτα να χορεύουν πάνω από τον ουρανό. Η φιλοξενία ήταν εξαιρετική, με φιλικό και προσεκτικό προσωπικό που έκανε κάθε επισκέπτη να νιώθει πραγματικά ευπρόσδεκτος. Το ειρηνικό περιβάλλον, τα άνετα καταλύματα και η αξέχαστη ατμόσφαιρα της Αρκτικής έκαναν αυτή την πιο αναμνηστική ταξιδιωτική εμπειρία που έχω δει. Είτε ψάχνετε να δοκιμάσετε την Αυρόρα Μπορελάι, να απολαύσετε μια ρομαντική απόδραση, ή απλά να υιοθετήσετε την ομορφιά της Αρκτικής, αυτός είναι ο προορισμός που σας συνιστώ θερμά."

"we shared at the Royal Ruka as part of a package holiday visiting lapland. we stayed for three nights/4 days. The hotel is set in a gorgeous location and very much has scenic and beautiful views of the valley it is situated in, particularly as there had been huge dump of snow the night before we arrived. Considering the carnage that multiple young families can inflict on a hotel, the Royal Ruka's staff took it all in their stride and offered a wonderful clean and well catered experience. The food was a mix of Finnish staples mixed with simple dishes like chicken nuggets and chips for the children. The rooms were clean and tidy, warm and with an inbuilt heated cabinet for drying the various snow suits etc we needed for our trip. All told, id like to thank all of the staff at the Royal Ruka, its a quality establishment that is clearly well loved by its owners."

"We had a family room with a bunk bed that was too small for a 15-year-old. I suspected the chambermaid was on leave herself. She only visited us once in five days, even though we had filled out the form at reception indicating we wanted room cleaning. We had to request fresh towels ourselves at reception. Breakfast was good; it had everything you'd expect. Dinner was also fine, delicious, and the service was friendly."

"There are good and bad points to this place. we really liked the location. It’s a nice spot not far from the frozen lake and ski lifts and a short walk into the main village. Really peaceful and pretty surroundings. What we liked in our apartment- We really enjoyed having an open fire and the sauna was nice. We had access to sledges which was a great bonus and there was also an endless supply of wood for the fire. In our apartment we also had two toilets which was good. The wifi was good and the apartment was always very warm What we didn’t like -: Our apartment could do with quite a bit of tlc! It felt quite dated and old and we had broken units locks not working screws hanging out of handles and the units in the bathroom were rundown with chunks missing out of the cupboard doors etc and the apartment felt quite small. There wasn’t much space for clothes. This is our second stay in Ruka and we really love the resort and would visit again but choose a different accommodation. It didn’t come close to where we stayed on our previous visit sadly."
