Premier Inn Matlock ★★★

📍 Bakewell Rd, Matlock Town

"I usually stay in Premier Inns as I find them very reliable. This was my first time staying in this one in Matlock. It did'nt disappoint. Check-in was quick and easy, my room, on the second floor, was exceptionally clean, quiet and as expected was very comfortable. I chose to have a full cooked breakfast every day and it was excellent. I also booked several dinners in the hotel, all were excellent. The hotel team were all really friendly and helpful but I must give a shout out to Russell who was a star!"

"I now remember the value and personal service you can get from a small B&B compared to larger establishments. From initial booking Ziz was excellent in the way she communicated and engaged with us. She provided some excellent recommendations for restaurants and places to go and visit. She gave us suggestions for walks in the area and local stately homes etc... When we arrived the room was ready and we stayed at the top of the house in "The Loft". The room was bright, airy and extremely comfortable. Excellent Tea Tray and storage etc.... The accommodation is literally a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Matlock. Breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent quality. A full Derbyshire is highly recommended! I would recommend Sheriff Lodge to anyone wanting a good quality accommodation, with an excellent host who is highly regarded in the area."

"Lovely B&B. The owners have thought of everything! Rooms are individually decorated. The whole place is warm and cosy, spotlessly clean. Up a very steep hill, but lovely views across the valley. Not too long a walk into Matlock and Matlock Bath, but remember coming back is all up hill! Breakfast was lovely, with everything being sourced locally. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners."

Premier Inn Matlock ★★★
"The room was clean and comfortable, although I would have liked to have been able to open the window rather than having air conditioning. The staff were all very helpful and friendly . We had a large group of 16 eating the evening meal on Friday night and we were able to book a table together and order our meals in advance by email. Tammy was particularly helpful staying on well after her shift had ended to make sure we were well catered for. The dining area itself is a bit basic and cramped but the food itself was a good standard, both the evening meal and a good choice for breakfast. The check in experience should be improved as the check in screen itself was visible to everyone displaying details of name, address and emails and wasn't straight forward to use to get door keys."

"Sherif Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The attention to detail is outstanding. From the freshly cooked breakfasts each morning to the beautifully decorated rooms and comfy beds this place is a real gem. A great host who helped us with all the local information we needed and who spent time with us after breakfast each morning to ensure we got the very most out of our stay. This is a great base for exploring the Peak District and the Derbyshire Dales. We can’t wait to book a return visit. Thoroughly recommend a visit to Sherif Lodge."

"Just come back from a 2 night stay at this great place, situated on a very steep windey hill so probably best by car if your not used to walking very far like us but once you get there is really worth it. Parking is a little further down from the B+B and is sign posted just need to take your time when walking the rest of the way just up on the left. W were greeted by the lovely sue the owner and was offered tea/coffee and cake we also spoke to john sue's hubby who is responsible for the cooked breakfast. We were then shown to our room which was the Denver suite on the ground floor and had everything you needed, Large bath and shower even dressing gowns and the view was amazing you could see for miles. The bed was great really comfy. The breakfast was yummy we were offered a selection of juices toast cereal fresh fruit with cream and a cooked breakfast. There was a couple of pubs a five minute drive which do food a fab Sunday carvery, Matlock town centre was 10 minute drive away and there is also a Sainsbury's supermarket. 15 minutes away you have Matlock bath with more quaint gift shops fish and chip shops amusements, aquarium, cafe's etc and also the famous Gulliver's kingdom great for the kids. We would highly recommend this place and will stay again for sure."
