"What a wonderful place to stay. Marcris and his team are superb, friendly and wonderful hosts. The rooms are spacious and wonderfully furnished. The grounds beautiful and the lounge and restaurant areas relaxing. The food was delicious. Our only regret is that we only stayed for 1 night."

"First impressions of De Denne were excellent, the setting is beautiful, and our room (and our friends' room next door) each had a seating area outside and overlooked one of the pools. The sunset and then the stars were stunning. We had dinner at De Denne on our first night which was very good. Reasonably priced and very good service. Our first breakfast was good ... a small buffet selection was set up, and we were also able to order cooked food from the breakfast menu. However, on our second morning, we went in to breakfast and sat down. I asked the lady helping us if I could order from the cooked menu, as we all had the previous day, and was simply told 'No'. I was directed towards the buffet food and told that was what was available that day. There were no bowls for the cereal or yogurt so I asked for a bowl, and was handed one a few minutes later by the same lady who didn't even look at me when she handed it over. A little while later she then offered me the menu to order some cooked food, but I declined as I had already eaten something else by then. The lady then asked me 'If I was really okay or just saying that'. To be honest this spoilt the stay a little as I felt I was an inconvenience ... and I am sure this is not how you would want guests to feel. "

"We stayed for one night and were made to feel very welcome by the owners who are rightly proud of their historic property. You are but a few minutes walk from the town centre where there are several restaurants, although only one was open on the Sunday we were there. There is a lovely terrace area overlooking the suspension bridge and river below the lodge. Our room was not large but it was more than adequate for our needs and the electric blanket on the bed was a welcome addition to our overall comfort. Everywhere was very clean and the interior of the property had retained much of its character from yesteryear with quality furniture throughout. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious."

"Ο γιος μου κι εγώ φτάσαμε στο Oudtshorn πολύ πριν την ώρα της επιβίβασης στις 20 Μαρτίου 2026, κάλεσα τον Daniel & ρώτησα αν μπορούμε να επιβιβάσουμε μια ώρα πριν την ώρα, μας φιλοξενεί. Το σπίτι είναι τόσο όμορφο, περικυκλωμένο από δέντρα, μια πισίνα και τόσο ειρηνικό, είτε κάθεστε έξω το πρωί, το απόγευμα ή το βράδυ. Η Daniel & Sonja είναι πολύ απασχολημένη, πολύ πρόθυμη να βοηθήσει τους επισκέπτες. Η κράτηση περιελάμβανε επίσης πρωινό που είχε παρασκευαστεί από την Sonja μαζί με τη βοήθεια του Daniel. "Good value for money. Was great to have heating in the room as it was winter - very much appreciated. The room was a good size with a nice courtyard out the front, with great views. Good storage racks for luggage. Room needed some basic maintenance and could use a bit of an update. "
